Roth Potter
Mostly for this sort of stuff the website www.imdb.com is very handy. But not on this occasion though, it states the first episode was aired on 5th of June 1981 which definitely wrong.Wikipedia tells me the first episode aired on January 26, 1979. The reason you probably thought it was 1978 is because most of the filming was done in 1978.

Nowadays it has more regional information, and will show data specific to where you live as the default. Here's the 'Release Info' for 'One Armed Bandits' (which agrees with Wikipedia):
Roth Potter
That explains it...I hate this sort of regional stuff.
HossC
I hate this sort of regional stuff.I'm quite happy with the regional information as long as it's clearly labeled. The details below the cast look like this for me:The details at the top, however, have the same date without saying it applies to the UK.I'm guessing that a lot of people will see this date without looking further down the page. I only realized they were doing this a couple of months ago when I was trying to date an old photo of a movie theater by the movie being shown. I couldn't get the dates to agree until I found the US information.I should probably be more concerned that IMDb thinks that Ireland is in the UK . RogerDuke
Great tribute on the homepage MM! I was stationed in Camp Lejeune North Carolina (USMC) when I saw my first Dukes episode. The show was only a couple weeks old and everybody was talking about it. I've been hooked ever since. I'm so delighted that CMT is carrying them again. Long live Hazzard County!!!! Hobie Hartkins
I should probably be more concerned that IMDb thinks that Ireland is in the UKI shame facedly thought it was!! ( Oh, the shame of it all...and my people are from Ireland...on both sides!) Which countries ARE in the U.K.?
HossC
Which countries ARE in the U.K.?Generally speaking:Great Britain = England, Scotland and Wales.UK = the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, ie. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Republic of Ireland (often shortened to Ireland) or Eire is not part of either.Just to confuse things, when the UK takes part in something like the Olympics they compete under the name "Great Britain" or "Team GB", but in the Six Nations Rugby competition there's a team called "Ireland" which includes players from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. To make things even more complicated, later this year Scotland will be taking a vote on whether to become independent. What you can be sure of is that all the countries are part of the British Isles - hope that helps .
RogerDuke
Very interesting! I never knew that about the Olympics. I guess that's because I'd never taken the time to think about it.
Hobie Hartkins
Well my people are from Northern Ireland, so...I guess I'm still from the U.K.!! LOL!
Roth Potter
thanks for the very interesting information Hoss, i thought United Kingdom and Great Britain are the same. Here in the Netherlands we are really stupid... Every time when some here means the Verenigd Koninkrijk (United kingdom) for some reason they always say Engeland (England).

Over here we often say Holland when we mean The Netherlands .
Roth Potter
That ain't so bad, even we Dutchmen say that. Even i don't know. We have the provinces of South Holland and north Holland but there is no Real Holland anymore. I guess both provinces together is Holland but nowadays Holland is defined by the parts north of Amsterdam in north Holland as it's the only part with the famous tulips. the rest of Holland is all city with some green space in between.
