HossC Posted February 14, 2012 Author Report Posted February 14, 2012 Last Friday marked the first anniversary of a crime against music. I wouldn't dare inflict the original on y'all, but this version makes me smile: OK, it's really Mike Bauer, but the comments are worth reading. Lots of people sharing experiences of listening to this version in Vietnam or on road trips . Quote
Meadowmufn Posted February 14, 2012 Report Posted February 14, 2012 Slink - LocksleyIt just happens to be the theme song to one of my favorite TV shows, which ran for only one season. May it RIP.And to paraphrase Dan Stark, "What the hell kind of music thread doesn't have Foghat?"Chevrolet - Foghat Quote
HossC Posted February 15, 2012 Author Report Posted February 15, 2012 Back to the early '60s now: This guy had a very distinctive vocal style, although the comes close. It's also been covered by artists like (who let his backing singers do the high notes) and whose version is quite bluesy. Quote
HossC Posted February 15, 2012 Author Report Posted February 15, 2012 I can't believe that this song is nearly 20 years old - feels more like 10. Quote
Alex-Dukes Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 Jennifer Lopez. Alive - Jennifer Lopez Quote

HossC Posted March 3, 2012 Author Report Posted March 3, 2012 Lovestruck - Madness This song was used for last year and I never knew what it was. I've never watched Hannah Montana, so that didn't help . Quote

Capt_Redneck Posted March 7, 2012 Report Posted March 7, 2012 The song Struttin reminded me of this one. Quote
HossC Posted March 9, 2012 Author Report Posted March 9, 2012 I can't resist another track from the '80s. This is a live performance from the British show 'Top of the Pops'. Nearly 30 years after it was released, their album 'The Hurting' is still one of my favorites. Quote
Capt_Redneck Posted March 10, 2012 Report Posted March 10, 2012 Probably one the best cover versions of any song. I think it almost equals the original. Quote
HossC Posted March 11, 2012 Author Report Posted March 11, 2012 Here's some original U2:Bad - U2 (From Live Aid)Capt, I have an EP by another Irish group called 'The Joshua Trio'. Believe it or not they did U2 covers. The EP only has three tracks and the only one I could find on YouTube is (the other two are 'Where The Streets Have No Name' and 'Bad'). I like fun covers - see what you think. Quote
Capt_Redneck Posted March 11, 2012 Report Posted March 11, 2012 Sticking with U2 Hoss - pretty original cover of "The Fly". I like originallity like that . It immediately reminded me of band we have here in the USA called Hayseed Dixie. They do a ton of covers bluegrass style. I have a couple of CDs and they are a fun band to listen to. Check out this video from them - . Quote
