Restlessness in Sleepy City

"Ow! Dang it Joe, will you watch where ya put that thing beore I make it a permanent fixture round your neck?" Hank said it jokingly but there was no mistaking the seriousness in his tone and the fire in his eyes.

Joe smirked in response and curled the whip back up, tucking it back under his coat.

"Well I was just provin' to you what an excellent shot I am....seein' as you seemed to doubt my abilities with it..."

"Anybody can use a whip with a still target..." To prove his point he took his whip and cracked it hard onto his hat making it fly up off the ground and caught it with his other hand, putting it back on his head. "It's the movin targets that're tricky."

Joe motioned outside the cave, before folding his arms.

"You voulenterring as my movin' target for target practise?"

"No thanks Joseph....you just might get lucky," he said with a smirk.

By that point, Joe had had enough. HIs nerves already frayed by the sheriff chasing him for the upteenth time this week and now Hank's attitude was just rubbing him up the wrong way.

Clenching his jaw hard, he got to his feet - ramming his hat back on his head as he did - and stormed out the cave to get his horse.

Hank rolled his eyes. The last thing he wanted was to babysit his cousin and watch he didn't do anything foolish. "Joe get back here!"

Joe was already at his horse when Hank called out, looking between the two before untying Hank's from where it was tethered and letting the reins hang about its neck before getting onto his own and heading off, calling back.

"Have fun with your girlfriend....some of us have stuff to investigate into...."

Hank growled but said, "Fine I will!" Getting back on his horse, he headed for town, hoping Loraine wold be there, longing to see her and get his mind off of his troublesome cousin.

Joe rode off with the wind, focusing on the trouble that was starting to brew in Sleepy City and just what it could have anything to do with.

Hank rode up to the town spotting Lorraine not far from where he had left her. "Care t' go for a ride?" he asked taking off his hat with one hand and holding his hand out two her with the other.

Loraine turned around and smiled big batting her eyelashes at him,"Id love to Hank. You came back awful quick, i take it you get yer cousin outta trouble all the time?"

Loraine asked taking his hand. She couldnt help but giggle a little bit.

"Well...he does a good job of getting in trouble alright..." he said helpng her on his horse. "Course I ain't been known t be an angel myself," says with a small kick in the stirrups urging his horse forward.

Loraine smiled and looked at the scenery as they ran on by. She turned to look Hank in the eyes and smiled at him leaning her head back on his chest. "It sure is beautiful around here."

Loraine loved it here she wasn't so sure if she was willing to rob the bank now or not, though she knew if she didn't, they'd be heck to pay.

Hank smiled a little holding the rens and maneuvering them expertly in one hand, his horse Fly seeming to know where he wanted to go without words.

"Sure is.." he said his right hand on Loraine's side helping her to stay steady on the horse."

Loranie, almost asleep in the saddle, look back to Hank asking him sweetly,"Were'd be a good place fer a little lady like me to lay her head down to rest around here?"

She knew she could get a nights sleep before she walked her death walk in frotn of Frank for being with Hank.

"Well the only hotel in Sleepy City is also the worst hotel in Sleepy City...why don't you stay out at the farm. Ya can share a room with my cousin Dixie," invited Hank with a smile.

Loraine smiled back to him and thought the idea a bad one, incase of Frank and Jesse following her and Hank, but when she looked at him all she saw was him and him alone, she agreed with a small nod of the head,"Id like that very much, thank you."

"Well...I reckon I take the fair maiden to my castle then....Ya" he said turning Fly towards home.

Loraine smiled and rode along with Hank lost in the innocence of the moment.

when they arrived at the farm Loraine jumped off the horse alittle on the uneasy side. She looked around and fell inlove with the place. "Lovely castle you have here then, your hiness Loraine said winking to Hank.

Jerimiah was in the kitchen of the farm with his wife, getting lunch all prepaired as they usually did when he saw Hank and Fly ride up, carrying a pretty young girl with him.

He shook his head with a smile and looked to his wife.

"Better set an extra place...Hank's caught another one..."

His wife nodded setting another place.

Hank smiled his dimpled smile as he climbed off of Fly and lifted Lorraine down with both hands. Well, Fly ain't much in the way of a carriage, but ..." he began taking her hand, "we like it here."

Loraine smiled and giggled a little lookin up to Hank, truth was she didn't wanna hurt him none at all, she wasnt brung up that way but since her momma and papa wasnt there, no one could stop her.

Hank led her inside. "Lorraine...you remember my Uncle Jeremiah...this is my Aunt Lucinda. Auntie....this is Lorraine..." he said as if displaying a precious creature.

Loraine curtsied, "How do you do ma'am?" she smiled gently at her hostess. Loraine looked around to Hank, it looked like her house did before it burned down when she was younger.
