"I...I don't even know your name..."

The doctor smiled.

"Well all you gotta do is ask...."

Luke smiled. "What's your name?"

"I'm surprised you don't remember...you used to watch me do gymnastics in school..."

She said with a hint of a smile...

"Wh-what?"

She smiled more, biting her lip before saying...

"Maybe this'll help..."

She reached up and pulled her hair out of her hair tie, letting the long red hair flow down to the middle of her back.

Luke's jaw dropped in shock. "Jenni...Jenni Lynn Thompkins...." his voice barely above a whisper.

Jenni nodded softly.

"Yeah...."

"You...you're a doctor...." he said, still in shock.

Jenni chuckled, running a hand through her hair.

"Well yeah...last time I checked anyway..."

Luke reached up to touch her hair. "You always were the prettiest thing.." he said softly.

Jenni bit her lip softly, letting him gently touch her hair before standing up, taking his hand and holding it gently before saying softly.

"Get some rest..."

She then leaned down and gently kissed his cheek, still holding his hand.

Luke stared into her eyes, swallowing hard as she kissed him. He gently drew her hand to his mouth planting a soft kiss to the backof it before giving her a smile.

Jenni smiled back, resting her hand on his cheek before heading out the room and down the hallway.

Luke sighed softly, as he watched the door close behind him. How the heck was he supposed to sleep after a kiss from Jenni?!

Jenni paused outside his door with a small smile as she thought back on their school days...how she had always kept one eye on him but never done anything about it. They had been such good friends in school, he had always supported her through a lot...

Luke looked beyond the girl he ha been chatting to, as he saw Jenni run outside in tears. Frowning, he told Lou Ann he would see her in school tomorrow before running out after her.

"Jenni! Jenni wait up!"

Jenni paused as she heard his voice, tears streaking down her cheeks as she looked to him.

"Luke..."

Luke looked at her worriedly. "Are you alright?"

The truth of it was, he had always liked Jenni...but they had been friends so long it was hard to imagine being anything else...

Jeeni swallowed softly, wiping her eyes a little as she clung her books to her chest, sniffing.

"No....I'm quiting Gymnastics..."

Luke swallowed surprised. He took her books from her and led her to the old oak tree in the school yard. Most everyone had gone home already, except for the few cheerleaders, like the one Luke had been talking to, who were waiting around for practice. "What happened Jenni?"

Jenni walked with him, keeping her head down as she shook her head, sinking down onto the grass.

"I...Coach wants me to...to do this thing...and...I tried to do it over an' over...and she just...yelled at me and...I just quit...I can't do it..."

"She yelled at you?" aked Luke, bristling with anger, his eyes cold as ice.

Jenni nodded gently, sighing gently.

"It doesn't matter...I'll have more free time...to...to help my mum...do homework..."

"But you love gymnastics Jenni...more than that...you're good at them."
