April 23Apr 23 The current version of the forum software will no longer be supported by the end of the year. I'm planning on upgrading to the next version before then. I'd like all your input on when the best day of the week/time I should do it and do you think a) the sooner the better or b) wait until later ? Looks like it will overall be a better experience and it looks like they have a mobile app too.
April 23Apr 23 I'd say midweek would be best as it's a bit quieter. I'm between five and eight hours ahead of most of the people on here, so I'll leave it up to someone else to recommend at time. I hope this update doesn't mess up internal links and embedded videos like when you shifted from vBulletin.
April 25Apr 25 Doesn't really matter what time to me. Thank you for all you do MM. As a low tech person I have no idea how much time you have put into this labor of love since 1999 but I am sure it is an unimaginable number of hours. It is appreciated and you are loved.

It'll probably be sometime this summer. I have a lot going on right now. Lots of doctor's appointments. If all goes well, the summer should be pretty quiet. Good time to do the update.

I've gotten pretty good with tech lately. My wife just showed me how to open links. It's not really that hard. You just click on it and all the information pops up. I asked her to show me how to do a screen shot so hopefully in a few weeks I'll get good at doing those too. Is there anything else I need to know?

June 15Jun 15 Author Ok, I think my calendar will be free to update the site sometime in July. Unless something changes to push it up, I'm looking at just after July 4th. Been super busy with lots of medical appointments (fortunately good news this time) and business-related stuff, so this fell off my radar. I think we agreed on a Wednesday or Thursday, so that would be July 8th or 9th.
July 15Jul 15 Author So, there's been a lot going on with me lately and I obviously missed the July 8th or 9th date. I am too fatigued/brain fogged to do the update this week, so I'm going to shoot for the 22nd or 23rd. The site will be down in the wee hours as I completely back everything up and start the upgrade. There is also a good chance I will forget again. But the good news is I have til the end of the year to remember.
