  1. Yo, Bama: You're always ready with a spitball, ain'tcha. Well, having considered the introspective analysis you've offered - I'd have to say that the most artificial thing about Jessica is her acting. My preferences for Daisy's role have more to do with the authentic representation of the original character, rather than any crude comparison of body parts. Admittedly, my perspective on casting is different than yours, as I'm not struggling with adolescent dementia. I'm also of the opinion, that if you put the original Dukes cast in the movie, next to the new cast....the originals would steal the show, wrinkles, dimples, warts n' all. I know you'll be shocked someday when you too, grow older, and you can legally have your first beer. Time plays no favorites...you can only hope it treats you as kindly, as it's treated them. Brian
  2. I think the jury is out until we all see the movie. In the meantime, I think as far as Bo, Luke, and Daisy are concerned, the cast coulda been better. Brian
  3. That being said, you'd think they could afford to leak out some more! Still nothing on WB's own website. My only other theory, is that they're afraid to put too much advance stuff out, for fear of backlash about the flag, or who-knows-what. That, or there's some sticky contractual thing that's being worked out yet. The latter being the most likely. Brian
  4. BAHAHAHA!! Jamanda, were ya'll like this when ya first came to HazzardNet, or did we do somethin' to ya?
  5. There might be some stuff in our Image Gallery you'd dig; check out the internal links at the top of our homepage. There's also a number of sites out there that focus on the General Lee. Look around our pages and you'll find links to a few places of interest. Enjoy! Brian
  6. Jamanda, that was a good one, about the green eggs and ham. Bahaha! I haven't had any green beer today ( but it's early yet.) I did manage a plate of corned beef n' cabbage, tho'. Did everybody wear a bit o' green today? Brian O' Coltrane
  7. Eric, welcome to HazzardNet! Thanks for sharing your appreciation of the Dukes. We know just how ya feel ! Brian
  8. Just wanted to say Happy St. Pat's to everybody at HazzardNet! Remember, even if ya ain't Irish, you can still get lucky. Brian O' Coltrane
  9. I've seen bootleg copies of this movie for sale at drag strips and swap meets, but it hasn't exactly popped up at Walmart yet. I caught this flick on TV, a long time ago. I remember it having an anti-government, "down with the fuzz" theme. But I can't remember what the plot was, as far as the whole trucker rebellion went. Was it because of the proposed 55 mph speed limit? Was it because of a toll-bridge? Was it because Coors wasn't available in that neck of the woods? (wrong movie. Heh!) I do remember the song pretty well, by C.W. McCall. The lyrics might end up under our Music topics in the near future. Brian
  10. Darned if somebody didn't bust us on a patrol car misquote in our FAQ's. We're gonna update those as soon as we can. Meantime, here is the info Maxim provided, regarding make n' models used for Hazzard County patrol cars. HazzardNet FAQ: "Rosco, Enos and Cletus's patrol cars -- The cars that were used from the third season on were late 70's Plymouth Fury's ('78 and '79's like above). The first couple of seasons had AMC's, mid 70's Fury's and Dodge Monaco's were used as well." Correction as supplied by Maxim: There was no 1979 Fury. The body style for Fury's like in that picture (B-bodies) were from '75 to '78. The Dodge Monaco's had that body style from '77 to '78. The Dodge Coronets had that style from '71 to '76. In 1980 there was an R-body Gran Fury. Like in 1979; 1981 was "Furyless". In 1982 we got the boxy M-body Gran Fury's that I am sure you are familiar with; its Dodge twin was the Diplomat. Those continued until 1989 and were the last Mopar RWD cars (not counting Vipers) as well as the last of the Mopar "squad cars". We couldn't have said it better, Maxim. ( and we didn't! ) Thanks for the detail! Brian
  11. I've noticed a few of the switcheroos with the cars, but it sounds like you've got 'em all nailed. ( I never caught the one about the truck bed. ) But now that you've pointed it out, I'll be looking for it on the eps. I'm not surprised that that the cars kept getting switched around with sloppy film editing, n' such. After all, they tried swapping Coy and Vance for Bo and Luke, and we weren't supposed to notice that, either. Brian
  12. Howdy Susan, welcome to HazzardNet! We've got some of the stuff yer lookin' for, scattered around HazzardNet. There's also fanfic located at: http://www.dukesofhazzardfanfic.com Make yourself at home! Brian
  13. Howdy there, welcome to HazzardNet! Thank you for the good information. I've seen more and more Hazzard County patrol car replicas appearing at DukesFest shindigs. I've also seen some "Mayberry" units at various car shows. There's definately a growing interest in building these cars. There's getting to be enough Hazzard County patrol cars out there, to have an entire "RoscoFest". Heh heh. Brian
  14. A point I'd like to add to that, is the fact the most boring part of many new cars is the dashboard....and that's what you spend the most time lookin' at! Doesn't matter how cool the car looks on the outside, when you're spending upwards of thirty grand to stare at a dashboard that hasn't signifigantly changed in appearance since 1984. This again is where Ford got it right, pains me to admit it. The new Mustangs have the retro large-dial dashes. Authentic styling, with a few modern extras. Whereas I'll bet ya dollars to dixie cups that the new "Charger" has a dashboard that looks amazingly like the Dodge Intrepid dash. So, for anyone who spent five years driving an Intrepid, and is about to trade it in for a Charger...things will look pretty much the same from where yer sittin' ! Brian
  15. Fear not, Brad. You post, we'll host. Give us a couple-few days to get this one set up; we're kinda behind schedule on some stuff. ( Nothing new there!) And thank you for exercising good taste and editing out the finer points of Daisy's appeal. It's a family site, like you said, and there is nothing lost by keepin' a little mystique intact. Brian
  16. What can I say, we're a shy bunch. Heh heh. I usually wander into the chatroom once each night to make sure it's still standing. Most times, it's empty. Other times, I just missed somebody going in or coming out. Your best bet is to post an invite, give a date and time, and leave the door open. If the chat has a theme or specific discussion in mind, post that too. Sometimes it helps to be a little sensational about it, to draw a crowd. Somethin' like..."Tonight, in the HazzardNet Chatroom!! Brian reveals childhood traumas involving an orange skateboard and an ill-fated dare to jump a shopping cart!! Be there at 8 pm Eastern to laugh in his face!!"
  17. We don't have a regular Chat schedule. ( We ain't that organized, plus we're lazy.) Usually if somebody wants to organize a chat, they just post the date and time, and whoever wants to show up, does. Not all chats are moderated ( have I mentioned we're lazy?) so it's about as casual as you can get. Once in awhile, if the HazzardNet staff is startin' to get lonesome, we'll post a chat time ourselves. Normally, our chats fall on a Saturday night. Meanwhile, feel welcome to bring friends into the chatroom anytime. Brian
  18. It seems all the production lines are the same these days; I guess it's too expensive for any factory to crank out something truly different. And the less car body, the less materials, I suppose. Ostensibly that would mean a cheaper car, but that doesn't appear to apply. Talk about cars with no nose or tail....I've been disappointed with the modern Chevy Impala lines. The last version looked like a mid-sized Honda, like you said. I don't expect modern cars to look exactly like their ancestoral models, but jeeze. ( And being the owner of a '67, when I see an Impala without a nose or tail, it looks just plain wrong.) I have to admit that Ford actually did a decent job with the recent Mustang line, making it look authentic to the namesake. But this modern Charger is just a (censored) up Dodge Intrepid. Brian
  19. Divia, I've been wondering what's up with that, myself. I went to WB's website, and while they're promoting several summer releases....the Dukes ain't one of 'em. I think part of the issue is the fact they've been horsing around with the release date. Once they land on that, the rest should follow. But ya'd think they'd have it in gear by now.... Brian
  20. That's a good picture, cop-Scott. I had to hold my laptop upside-down to see it, tho'. ( We're pretty easy to confuse. Occupational...uh, Hazzard.) Brian
  21. AAAAAAHHH!!! Everywhere I look, Maxim's got another picture of that car. I dare ya to drive up to DukesFest in one of those. See what the General Lee car clubs think of it. Brian
  22. Well, the original show itself wasn't exactly Masterpiece Theater. It was just good fun. If the movie manages that much, I'll call it even for the eight bucks I blow on it. Or maybe I'll take in the afternoon matinee for $4.50. That way if it's good, I can afford to see it twice. Brian
  23. Cap'n, you'd probably be interested in the Daisy Duke contest a certain midwestern tavern has each year. I'd post some pics of it, but it gets a little bit...um...bawdy. And I know you're not into that kinda thang. Brian
  24. Howdy, Seahawks, welcome to HazzardNet! Yeah, there are a lotta new folk around. But I'll tell ya, everytime we meet somebody new here, it feels like we've known them forever. Enjoy! Brian
