  1. Recently we had a user run into an issue with trying to use our chat function, which uses the Java application to run. The user uses a proxy server to access the site. As a result, the Java applet wouldn't load correctly. Users that use a proxy server should check out Java.com's help section on this issue here. http://www.java.com/en/download/help/5000040200.xml Apparently, browser settings need to be adjusted for proxy servers in order for Java applets to work. The staff at HNet cautions users on changing browser settings especially if you don't know what you're doing. Although, most of the HNet staff doesn't know what it's doing either and somehow the site continues to function. LOL Unforuntately, I know very little about proxy servers so I can't offer any insight. If any of our other users out there have any tips or suggestions, please share them, so that others can use all the functions of HNet. Thanks! MaryAnne
  2. Gee, Brian. THAT was inspired. I'm thinkin' that rest period may become permanent...
  3. "Be careful what you wish for." *chuckles and with Rosco leads Alex into the courthouse* *when they get inside they see Lex Hogg standing by the holding cell looking at Jack, because despite what anyone else might think JACK IS STILL IN JAIL!* "Lex, are you harrassing the prisoner?"
  4. No, Julie you need to do it like this... *clears throat* Ahem.....HEY YOU LAZY BLACK CLAD GOOD FOR NOTHING KNOW-IT-ALL-BUT-TOO-FREAKIN'-LAZY-TO-POST-ANY-NEWS SLACKER!!! GIT OFF YER DUFF AND GIT TO WORK!!! CUSS IT ALL TO TARNATION!!! *gives black clad posterior a non-injuring kick*
  5. *Rosco blinked at the passing grey Chevy Caprice* "Um...do the new Atlanta police cars drive themselves now?" *snorts* "Ah, no. That looked a brown haired Duke girl. And I don't mean Daisy. I hope she's not stealing it, or else that Caprice is turning out to be a dang popular car to steal." *Rosco speeds up to keep within distance of the Caprice and ends up following it directly back to town. The grey car is parked and the driver has sliipped into the county building before Rosco brings the patrol car to a stop behind it* "She didn't steal it." *Rosco says* "Good, because then I would have had a heck of a lot of explaining to do to Jack." *gets out of patrol car, along with Rosco. Pops open the back door to help Alex out*
  6. It does make my job a little harder don't it? Heheheheheheh... But I love a good challenge, so by all means, continue to compliment him. Khee! Ditto!! If it weren't for you guys we'd have no reason to do all that we do. My efforts to can Brian from his job would be useless as he'd have no job to begin with! And then I'd be useless. *GASP!* Man....that's a terrible thought...
  7. *turns in the passenger seat to look at Alex* "The only thing you need to do Alex is simmer your butt down!" *looks at Alex, deadly serious and speaks low and evenly* "You make any attempt to try to escape or dupe me or Rosco, so help me Alex Jackson you'll have an even bigger problem on your hands than what Brian's facing. You'll have to worry about me. And I am not somebody you wanna make mad..." *lets this statement hang in the air for a moment before continuing* "Now, you're under arrest for stealing Jack's car." *puts a hand up* "I know, I put you up to it, but if Rosco and I area gonna have any shred of credibility left with the Atlanta police, I gotta clear the decks on this. I'm sorry and I mean that but if you can't understand that then this conversation ends right now."
  8. *Since Brian and Alex had been in Jack's car, it had stood to reason they were going to need wheels of their own in going against the lieutenant. And the best bet for Brian of course, was his own set of wheels. Therefore, MaryAnne had driven Diablo out to the Boar's Nest for the meeting. The big black Chevy waited at the far end of the parking lot* *Rosco quietly steps up to group and watches with MaryAnne as Brian leaves, both Coltranes keeping their emotions in check.* *MaryAnne looks at Alex* "I'm sorry, Alex. I have to take you in. For a lot of reasons. Now don't give me a hard time..." *with Rosco, escorts Alex out of the Boar's Nest to Rosco's patrol car. Places Alex in the back seat and the two Coltranes get in front. A moment later, the patrol car pulls out of the Boar's Nest parking lot...*
  9. *takes the handcuffs from gun belt and steps up behind Alex, taking one wrist and deftly placing cuff upon it, and then the other wrist to complete the deal, hardly giving Alex a chance to protest. Places one hand on Alex's shoulder, standing close behind him, and reaching around with the other hand and into Alex's jacket to relieve him of the gun he carries* "I'm sorry Alex. But I'm gonna have to place you under arrest..." *the apology is sincere, but the action of placing Alex under arrest, is serious.*
  10. "He's gonna be looking for Brian in paticular, no matter what. Awright, we play this out like we were gonna. Rosco and I will take his car back to town and let him out of jail. He'll leave and probably make it like he's left town, meaning he'll sneak back in. He'll avoid me and Rosco for sure. You'll have the advantage as you'll know the territory. But don't let Jack Morrison's city influence fool you. Like Brian said, he's smart. And he'll catch on to things real quick."
  11. Like you need any more excuses for procrastination! Jessi Duke has it correct. I gotcha right where I want ya. I usually always do too. Khee! However, since you wrote up that nice story on the 29th anniversary of our favorite show, I'm gonna take the ropes off ya. For now. You slack off again tho', I'll be pulling more than just some shenanigans...
  12. The song is called "Hair of the Dog" by Nazareth. It was released back in the mid 70's.
  13. *Rosco looks up at Julie Duke and sighs* "Excuse me, I think somebody's looking for attention..." *gets up and goes to help Daisy with Julie.* *Meanwhile, Bo and Luke, having overhard Julie's frantic call on the CB, arrive at the Boar's Nest with inhaler in hand. The boys go to where Daisy has Julie sitting at one of the tables. Bo hands the inhaler to her, telling her she should have been more careful to keep an eye on it* *MaryAnne watches the commotion and then looks at Brian, Alex and Doc* "I don't know if Jack would try to escape from the jail on his own or not. Rosco and I already told him we'd bring his car back and would let him out, provided he left Hazzard, to which we would drop the charges. I don't think he'd suspect a damn thing by that route but he has to figure, that we would figure, that he wouldn't leave that easily." *pauses in thought* "We'd have to find someway to inspire him to want to escape on his own. We could deny him his one phone call I suppose. Throw some more tumpted up charges at him. Make 'em mad."
  14. I loved Full House too. Watched it when it originally aired (I can't believe the Olsen twins are all grown up now. GAAHH!! Where's the time go? ROFL) I've seen that episode Sorrell was in. When Michelle pulls the toupe off is classic! Some other stuff Sorrell was in that I've seen is an episode of the Rockford Files (he plays a somewhat scatterbrained lawyer. LOL) and he was also in one of the Columbo movies (the one with Johnny Cash - who played a murderer of all things! LOL) It is neat to see Sorrell in other stuff. It's neat to see him as himself too, because he is SOOOO unlike Boss Hogg.
  15. Heh heh! I think given a choice, Brian would gladly take the buttermilk.
  16. *finishes tying ropes, raises an eyebrow* Pull? You sure you wanna use that word?
  17. *listens to Brian's suggestion along with Alex's and Doc's input. Gestures to Doc* "Yeah, faking Brian's death would have been pretty good, except Jack would know it was a set up from the start. Despite the fact that he's only been in town for a short while, I think the lieutenant has figured out most of the cast of characters around here." *glances around at everyone* "He knows Alex's name already" *Rosco says* "How'd he figure that out?" "You know I'm not...." *Rosco trails off and notices somebody watching from Boss's office. It looks like Daney. "...sure. He mighta asked somebody that had been in the bookin' room. Or just asked around town." *follows Rosco's line of sight and then looks back to the table* "Well, anybody not knowing who Jack was or why he was in town, wouldn't have thought anything about answering any questions." *pauses, thinking how Julie's parked outside, and Daney's watching things from the office* "Dukes sure get curious when Coltranes get into trouble don't they?" *smiles and then continues* "Awright, I think Brian's idea might work tho'. The one thing Jack craves is the chance to get Brian." *pauses* "Speaking as a cop, I can't say I don't understand that. Every cop wants that one chance to deliver justice." *raises blue eyes to black clad kin* "Naturally I have a conflict of interest in this paticular situation however." *from kin, looks to everyone again* "Alex, your concern is legitimate but we have no way of knowing what will be enough to get Jack to leave Hazzard. I think it'll be enough to tie him over for awhile, but I'm afraid the final answer to that is out of our control. We can't keep him in jail and we really can't all gang up on him either. This is an issue that's between Jack and Brian and will eventually need to be resolved between Jack and Brian... If the rest of us continue to get in the way, we could all land in some serious, serious, trouble."
  18. Hmmm.... *ties ropes around the ankles and wrists of sleeping cousin...*
  19. *listens to the reactions then glances at Rosco* "Well assaultin' an officer and stealing county property ain't exactly minor o-ffenses. He pretty much knows the deck is stacked against him here in Hazzard. I'll admit we can't hold him forever, but atleast it buys some time to figure out what to do next. Rosco's willing to cut a deal, if Jack leaves Hazzard we won't press charges. That doesn't necessarily guarantee he won't try to come back tho'."
  20. *after settling at the table, looks around at Rosco, Alex and Brian* "Okay. At the risk of stating the obvious, Morrison's looking for you." *looks at Brian* "Right at the moment, however, he's cooling his heals in the county jail..." *pauses to catch reaction from those at the table*
  21. *makes note* What? This is all up to me now?! Here Brian....have a beer.
  22. I've created a forum! It's here in the fanfic section, third forum down.
  23. Awrighty, I think we all know how role playing works. The purpose of this forum is to have y'all that want to role play with just the original characters of the show be able to do so. This means that created characters will probably not be encouraged here. It will be up to those who start an RP to set their own rules for each story, defining what characters they want to use and then letting folks volunteer to play the parts. This means that things won't be as open as in a Round Robin format, so please do not just jump in to an RP unless you have signed up for a role! Otherwise, Rosco will have to cuff ya and stuff ya! LOL. Okay, now that I've covered the basics, here's the important part....have fun!
  24. Who said I was using county funds? And last time I checked, Clydesdales were not miniture... Since you're so fond of beer, I thought using Clydesdales would be appropriate. Tho' my apologies if Weiser is not your preferred Bud. ROFL! Oh wow! Jessica Simpson! I'm soooooooooooooooooooo excited! Not. Good thing I posted up that blurb about Bo's General up for auction. Shows that HNet still bothers with some REAL news once in awhile...
