  1. Never lost the job it was a temporary layoff because Volvo trucks had an issue with the new trucks and had to refit them in accordance to newer air regulations so the production line stopped.Back up to about normal now.We got Bluebird schoolbus contract now too.We make parts for both now. To me once it was used in the reunion with the original cast it became a REAL Lee regardless if it was built as a replica or not. I agree you could build one identical to his for less than half of what he got. What concerns me is how much Chargers are going to go for now as a result along with prices for parts. They are out of reach now for the average guy to restore one now.Glad I've had mine done since 89 when it was cheap.

  2. I will agree with most of what you said but it isn't just a replica.Well maybe to you it is but to most of us over at CGLFC consider it a REAL General Lee since it was used in a reunion movie with the original cast. You notice as soon as it was revealed that everyone had signed it the price shot up. To do a Charger with identical upgrades would run you close to 200K now. A Charger SE(which his is) in excellent condition will run you 40-50k easy or more.A crate 511 hemi tweaked to 750 hp probably close to 20k or more. The tranny is special too along with the rear end and brake system, suspention, also car is now upgraded to a full frame car add say another 30k for all that then you gotta add paint and decals another 5-10k for a professional job. The REAL Hazzard history along with the signatures? How do you put a price on that? To a Dukes fan which the winner may have been it was worth a lot. Plus some of the money went to charity. I agree 450K is a bit much. The problem is now everyone with a normal replica will think theirs will be worth a whole bunch more now.I can see Ebay full of them now with a starting bid of 100K. Anyone wanna bid on mine 100k to start and it's been signed by almost everyone. I know you didn't care fore that little dig at the movie that John got in there, but I chuckled at it. I personally don't consider any of those Generals REAL other than the one that was left over from the TV series. Sure they were built by WB but I don't see them ever going for what one from the TV show will go for.

  3. I was just a casual fan of the show not a hardcore one. At least this isn't a remake it is a continuation from the original so I can maybe see introducing a new car. Even though there are probably enough of those old Trans-Ams/Firebirds around to have it as the original car it is hard to pass off a 25 year old car as being more high tech now than it was back then. I still say since William Daniels is still alive they should have him as the voice. I don't know.I have a feeling the hardcore fanbase won't be so willing to accept a new car and voice.I still smell failure.I probably won't watch it.

  4. As I said this is a hypothetical discussion. As long as someone of the original cast is in charge of Dukesfest I don't ever see the movie actors invited.John is smart enough to know that the majority of fans as this poll has indicated do not want them there or could care less if they were and know other castmembers don't want them either. I don't have a problem with them being there as long as they aren't paid to be there. If they choose to come and pay their own way in it is ok with me.I would just not support any of them by buying any stuff from them. I do know Byron has been invited by John and will be there barring unforseen things.

  5. Yep KITT is a Rustang now.Not the original voice for KITT either and William Daniels is still alive to do it. I heard the Hoff is taking Devons place and be in charge. From what I've read and heard this is NOT a remake it is a continuation pass the torch deal. Still with a different car and no original voice,I smell LOSER.

  6. Yes I understand WB still owns all the copyrights and trademarks. However Viacom owns the broadcasting rights to the show, has for a long time now. They own CMT. Why would CMT need a syndication contract if Viacom owns CMT? Usually a syndication contract is good for a while and I'm sure aren't cheap. If they renewed the contract(If there even was one) why then aren't they showing it on a regular basis only sporadically as they are now? Something isn't stirring the Kool-Aid somewhere.

  7. Brian is 100% correct. It is just being used as a filler because of the writers strike.I heard the rumor weeks ago that they were going to air it due to the strike.I believe their excuse for removing it to begin with was bologna anyway. They said the syndication contract expired.Well then how are they showing it now? Viacom owns CMT and they have owned the rights to Dukes for years now.Why would they need a syndication contract if the company that owns them owns the rights to the show.I'm no expert on such matters but that sounds pretty fishy to me.

  8. Yep,Moonrunners 1975.Gy Waldron based this movie on the true life story of Jerry Rushing a true moonshine runner.Jerry is in the movie was also Ace Parker in the episode Repo Men. Then Gy loosely base Dukes of Hazzard off of Moonrunners.Even took some of the character names from Moonrunners as there was a Sheriff Rosco Coltrane,Uncle Jesse, and Cooter in Moonrunners.

  9. Laura I understand what your trying to say. This is all speculation anyway just for the sake of discussion. John is running Dukesfest now so it's really up to him on who he invites and who he doesn't. We can make suggestions but that's it. I just feel that none of the movie actors should be "invited" guest. If they choose to pay their own way in that is different. That is not the same as banning them. As I said if they were invited you would surely lose at least 2 original cast members because they don't want to associate with those people nor do some of them want to associate with Coy and Vance for that matter.. They considered that movie a slap in the face to all their hardwork they did for 7 seasons. If it were me running it I would keep it just for the TV series personel only as far as invitations.

  10. Laura allowed with permission from the original cast? Isn't gonna happen.I think I can speak for 2 of them and they wouldn't want them there and likely wouldn't come themselves if John would happen to invite them which isn't likely. Now if they came and paid admission to get in (yeah right) like everybody else then that is a whole different story. That is beyond anyones control,as long as they aren't invited guest and advertised as being there. As I say inviting them would result in at least 2 original castmembers to not show up do you really want that to happen? Don't worry General Grant I think WB maybe through with doing anymore Dukes projects. They have auctioned off a lot of movie Lees most if not all the main camera cars .Why would they do that if they planned to do more? They still have quite a few Lees but still the important ones the got rid of.

  11. I can't say,I still am a member there. I don't know the entire story on why Marky was banned.I never realized Aneesh was too.I thought the problem was solely Markys fault because I was at that Dukesfest when it happened and Aneesh was there even after Marky was kicked out.I've only heard Aneesh's side of the story. If you want you can private message me about anything you know about the situation. Now that John is in control it should be open for that club to come. After all they started Dukesfest before it was called Dukesfest not many people realize that there may not have been Dukesfest if it weren't for this club.Tavis Bell I don't know if he'd have the courage to show his face or not.I think he and John are still friends last I knew but he isn't liked by many other castmembers. In fact despised by 2 of them and all of the stunt crew. He is despised buy almost everyone that has a Lee replica so I don't see him coming. If I had the resources I'd ask Aneesh about him possibly handing the reigns over to me as I was one of the founding members. I just don't have the money or the time to do it.

  12. This topic came up on the CGLFC whether any of the actors from either of the newer Dukes movies be invited or even allowed or considered to be at Dukesfest now with it being under Johns control. The general consensus over there is no they should not be invited and I whole heartedly agree that they should not be there. In fact I probably would boycott if I found out any were going to be there.Dukesfest should only be for people involved with the TV series period.

  13. I think everyone is a bit confused.Kid Rock does own Bo's General Lee #1 of 4.There are 4 that he built. Bo's General #2 is owned by a guy here in Ohio. Bo's General #3 is owned by a guy in Iowa.Bo's General #4 the Hemi car is still in Johns possession until the Barret-Jackson auction in January. He is auctioning it off to help fund Collier & Company 2.

  14. Only 22 cars officially remain of the approx 300 give or take(Cooter says 309) that were used on the TV series.I don't count the ones used for the 05 Movie or the Beginning they aren't true Generals in my opinion. WB cut the roofs off any to be sent to the crusher at least from about season 3 on. There are rumors of some being stolen from WB back in the day off the set or on their way to the crusher or from the junkyard.Rumors that's all. They re-used as many parts as possible. Anyone out there claiming they have a genuine General actually used on the TV series saying it slipped out under WB noses is either lying or they are in possession of stolen property.WB controlled these pretty closely. So if anyone out there says my nephews second cousin has a genuine General Lee from the TV series he found in Georgia or California supply me the VIN number and I know someone that could confirm if it is legit. http://www.dohgltruth.com/
