I've enjoyed following this build, so I'm almost sad it's finished . What a great job you've done!

Sadly, I'm posting again because of another death. Today it was announced that Merle Haggard had died on his 79th birthday. To keep with this thread's theme, I'll post this track first.

But I can't do a tribute without mentioning this song.

Thanks for joining in, Hobie. This thread wasn't meant to be just obituaries, but that's how it's been this year.

Sadly, Laura Branigan died back in 2004 at only 47. She never appeared in Dukes, but she did play the part of a singer called Sarah in a final season episode of 'CHiPs'. I just picked this one because I heard it on TV last night.

It looks like the aftermath of Cletus and Wilbur driving through the sawmill in 'The Legacy'.

I don't remember how the episodes were originally shown, but, according to IMDb, it looks 'Carnival of Thrills' and '10 Million Dollar Sheriff' were screened back-to-back, but the two parts of 'Undercover Dukes' were shown a week apart. Now that we have DVDs, it doesn't make much difference as there's no waiting. The two-parters also let us have slightly deeper storylines.

Before anyone questions Mark's spelling, Rhuebottom's was sometimes misspelled Rheubottom's on the show, so the model is screen-accurate! Both spellings are visible in the screengrab below, which I first posted in the Hazzard Square thread.

Before Christmas, TheGeneral01 posted a picture of what a modern version of the General Lee might look like [ETA. image now missing]. When I saw the post again during the week it inspired me to have a go myself.
Because the new Charger is a four door, I based my version on the new Challenger. To give it a longer look I stretched the body by about eight inches. Other changes include: removing the sunroof and side markers; chroming the door mirrors, door handle and window surround; replacing the grille; adding a nudgebar and CB antenna; replacing the wheels and putting on the famous graphics.

I know this one is a little obscure, but here's a look-alike I spotted in 'Heiress Daisy Duke'. On the left is Nancy Hinman as Vonnie. On the right is singer, songwriter, and record producer Amanda Warner (aka. MNDR), as she looked when she featured on Mark Ronson's 2010 hit 'Bang Bang Bang'.

I like Robin Mattson too, but I think she gets overlooked sometimes because Diane Benson wasn't a nice character. A lot of fans don't like the way she treated Bo.

Here's an image that I've previously posted in a couple of other threads. The one on the left is from her first movie, 'Namu, the Killer Whale' in 1966, with 'Carnival of Thrills' in the middle, and a more recent shot on the right.

I thought I'd add some pictures to Hobie's observation.
    1. As the car takes off, the lightbar becomes loose.
    2. The front of the patrol car is just to the right of the tree. I've arrowed the lightbar, which is falling off.
    3. The patrol car lands and rolls over without a lightbar.
    4. A damaged lightbar is attached to the patrol car when Bo and Luke turn around to check on Rosco.

A little later in the same episode, Rosco ends up in the Hazzard Pond. Even before his car hits the water, the lightbar is broken and covered with some sort black material (duck tape?). When Rosco climbs out of his submerged patrol car, the lightbar is pristine and still working. Just before the car sinks, there's a close-up of Rosco which shows that his door mirror has repaired itself!

Since 'Undercover Dukes' has been mentioned a couple of times, I thought a screengrab was in order. On the left is Lydia Cornell as Mary Beth, with Stepfanie Kramer as Anna Louise on the right.

And 'Good Neighbors, Duke' was mentioned by justinpcoltrane. Here's Cynthia Leake as Esther Venable.

How about the female cast of 'Arrest Jesse Duke'? The car strippers (L-R Daina House, Kellee Patterson, Lois Hamilton and Kathrine Baumann) included two Miss America contestants and a Playmate of the Month.

And then there was Candi and Randi Brough.

Someone asked a question about the banjo music back in 2010. I replied that Larry McNeely was named as the banjo player on the background music. Here's also credited as playing the steel guitar on the 1982 Dukes of Hazzard album, although I don't known which tracks he played on. Back in 2010, I could only find one Larry McNeely video on YouTube, but now there's more. It's not the exact music from the show, but some of the tracks have a similar feel. Here's the title track from his 1976 album 'Rhapsody for Banjo':

The track below is also on 'Rhapsody for Banjo', and should be spelled 'Honeysuckle Rose. Although it has vocals, I can imagine the Duke Boys driving to the instrumental parts.

I know we've just had two versions Pharrell's 'Happy', but I couldn't let the release of a new "Weird Al" album go by without posting something, and this is one of the first videos to come out. Watch out for several celebrity cameos in this one-take video. I think my favorite line at the moment is "Got my new resume, it's printed in Comic Sans" .

If you take Cooter's character from the Georgia episodes, I could see him as a drummer in the style of Animal from The Muppets or Keith Moon from The Who .

Maybe Uncle Jesse could join ZZ Top, although he'd had to grow his beard!

Hey, don't knock it. I made an apple, a kite, a dead rat, twelve marbles, part of a jews-harp, a piece of blue bottle-glass to look through, a spool cannon, a key that wouldn't unlock anything, a fragment of chalk, a glass stopper of a decanter, a tin soldier, a couple of tadpoles, six fire-crackers, a kitten with only one eye, a brass doorknob, a dog-collar -- but no dog -- the handle of a knife, four pieces of orange-peel, and a dilapidated old window sash out of that deal .
