There were various bits of livestock scattered around the show, but I don't remember seeing any mules!

I'm sure that Roger would've loved my day out today. No motorbikes, but all sorts of farming machinery on display. This is usually the time of year for the National Ploughing Championships, but this year it's also Ireland's turn to host the World Ploughing Championships (BTW. "ploughing" is just the correct way to spell "plowing" ). It's normally where I pick up my year's supply of free pens, but freebies were thin on the ground this year. Due to Covid, it's the first time that the event has been held since 2019. It's now the fourth time I've been to the event, and I still haven't seen any actual ploughing (it's done on neighboring fields). What most of the nearly 300,000 visitors go for are the stalls and stands selling all manner of goods and services.

I wondered if a mid-90s song by the British indie band The Bluetones called 'Marblehead Johnson' had any connection to Marblehead, especially when I saw that Johnson's Island is only a couple of miles to the south, but it turns out it was a reference to an album by comedian Bill Hicks.

The lighthouse looks like a great place to watch a sunset, and it's celebrating its 200th anniversary this year.

His appearances in Bewitched and various other shows are mentioned in the Question About Hobie thread that you created in 2014. Some of the confusion about the actor's identity that I wrote about in 2014 now seems to have been sorted out on IMDb. It looks like Paul Smith (AKA. A.P. Smith/A. Paul Smith etc.) was in 9 episodes as Bewitched, mainly as police officers ('Oedipus Hex' was his second appearance).

He's Richard X Slattery, and you're right, he played the Traffic Commissioner in 'Herbie Rides Again' (the scene where Alonzo Hawk causes a traffic jam after stealing Herbie).

By a strange coincidence, the police sergeant from the same 'Bewitched' episode was played by Herb Vigran ...

... who was the window washer in 'Herbie Rides Again'.

Of course, 'Herbie Rides Again' also featured Don Pedro Colley (aka Sheriff Little). It looks like someone's updated IMDb since my original post.

I think you're right. I was just pointing out that not every General was painted that color, and as you say, stunt cars were often painted with whatever orange was available.

There are several 1:25 General Lee decal sets available on eBay for $5-$10. There used to be a member here on HNet who made Dukes decals, but I think he stopped making them a few years ago.

    BRUCE Howard

Writer of over a dozen episodes of Dukes. He claimed that work was harder to get after Dukes started showing up on his résumé. That was after it took him three years to live down writing for Gilligan's Island!
Yes, I played it about three weeks ago.

I think it was the '73 Road Runner that they had trouble getting parts for, despite it being a later model. I'm pretty sure that the decision to switch to the Jeep was mainly because of the sponsorship, although it also meant that we got to see more of Cathy's legs!

The image is similar to the one on IMCDb, but it's a screengrab that I made and host in my Photobucket account. I originally posted it in the Dukes of Hazzard Diecast Models thread.

You forgot to mention that the General was green in 'Southern Comfurts'.

Regarding the color, apparently they used Big Bad Orange in the movies. For the series, it's widely published that the General was Corvette Flame Red, but I found a 2020 article which includes a video of Travis Bell on Ed Bolian's VINwiki YouTube channel. He claims to have color-scanned the trunk of the original General and found the color to be TNT Express. That's a color I'm familiar with because it was used by the TNT Express shipping company (similar to FedEx or UPS), and I'd often see their trucks on the motorway. It looks like TNT Express was bought out by FedEx nearly a year ago. Here's the video:

HossC got a reaction from RogerDuke in NASCAR news
It looks like I forgot to post a review of last week's Dutch Grand Prix - you can see the highlights here.
This weekend was Ferrari's home race at Monza, Italy. Sadly, it was another race weekend spoiled by regulations and procedures. Nearly half the field had grid penalties for using excessive engine parts, but it took around four hours after qualifying before they decided the starting grid for yesterday's race.
Home favorite Charles LeClerc started on pole, but championship leader Max Verstappen made it up from seventh to third by the end of the second lap. While Mercedes driver George Russell fought for a top-three place, his team mate Lewis Hamilton had to make his way slowly forward from 19th.
The end of the race was the big letdown. Daniel Ricciardo had to pull his McLaren over with a few laps remaining. The stewards were slow to call a safety car and then only some of the back markers unlapped themselves, so the race finished behind the safety car with the two championship contenders at the front on the soft (fastest) tires. Even though Max Verstappen won his fifth race in a row, his team boss Christian Horner admitted that fans had been deprived of a last lap battle. Unlike NASCAR, F1 cars start with a set amount of fuel, so green–white–checker finishes might not be an option, but something needs to be done.
Dutch driver Nyck de Vries won driver of the day. He drove a test session for Aston Martin in Friday's free practice 1 (FP1), and then got called up to drive for Williams when Alex Albon was diagnosed with appendicitis on Saturday morning (Alex is doing fine now after he suffered "post-operative anesthetic complications"). I think the commentators said that he's the first person to drive for two different teams in the same race weekend since the late-70s. He qualified in a respectable 13th place, but started in 8th after the grid penalties were applied to others. Nyck finished 9th to score two points on his F1 debut.
Although the race was in Italy, many teams are British-based and several had tributes to the Queen on their cars. There was also a minute's silence before the race.
You can see Monza highlights here.
The next race isn't until the Singapore GP on September 30th, where Max Verstappen could theoretically win the championship with six races still to go.
