  1. That would definately make sense, North_of_Border1! Thanks for clearing that up. I thought that it was weird that John Schneider would be laughing and taping it as Lulu. So, the way you explained it puts an end to my curiosity. Plus, they probably chose him because John and Tom were the ones that went there everyday, and between the two, John had the hire voice.

    Thanks!

  2. You've just said everything that I wanted to say!

I also would like to wish you a Merry Christmas. It has been such a honor to meet all of you over these past few months. All of you bring such excitement and energy! I have felt so close to you guys and girls, that, like Roger said, you are part of my family. Thanks for bringing such joy to my life.

Have a Merry Christmas and a great New Year!

    Laura Duke

P.S. Roger, I'll go and check out the Trivia, knowing you, I'll probably be racking my brain trying to figure out the correct answer. That show is such a great show that really brings out the Duke spirit.

  3. I agree, that is one of my all-time favorite movies! Yeah, how come John and Tom don't talk about it? Maybe it wasn't very popular? Was it made by John's production company-I think that his production company did go out of buisness by now, I guess that not too many people bought from his company-I sure would have bought from him!

But, I think that if you haven't seen the movie, it's definately worth the trip to the Library to check it out!

    Merry Christmas

  4. Whoa! Take it easy there, Capt_Redneck, I can feel your blood pressure rising from here!:)

There has been a lot of discussion on this since I left. There is so much back-and-forth, I'm kind of having a hard time about what all of this is about! But, I've been known to be confused often! So forgive me if I'm talking about something that you weren't even talking about-get it?:)

Okay, another opinion to add. First of all, I am really in no way happy about Coy and Vance coming onto the show. Now, Byron and Christopher are probably wonderful people, but I don't feel a connections when they portray Coy and Vance. So, to be honest, I wouldn't even bother to stand in line at Dukesfest to meet them. Poor Duke behavior, I know. But, to me, it was like in the show, "Duke of Duke" when a prison inmate was imitating Gaylord Duke. I feel like Coy and Vance are imitations of Bo and Luke.

But, if Coy and Vance were to come to Dukesfest, it would make others happy, and they never were bad for the show-like they didn't swear or anything, so for that reason, I have no problem.

This is where I get confused at myself: letting the 2005 cast members in. Part of me says that they should be more than welcomed. They probably saw the series as a kid, and how many of us would leap at the chance to play our favorite character on the Dukes of Hazzard?

But, what kind of role models are we bringing to Dukesfest? If we allow them to come, it almost seems like a slap in the face. We want Dukes to be remembered as the "good ol' boys." Uncle Jesse NEVER allowed swearing, he got very upset whenever Bo, Luke, or Daisy swore. And, to hear Wille Nelson AS Jesse Duke swear, that was a HUGE shock!

Plus, I feel that if the cast can't come, I wouldn't want the crew to come. They are the ones that made up the script. So, the cast shouldn't be the only ones on the burner, it's the crew, too. They are also the ones that made it possible. Obviously the crew has no clue what the Dukes is about.

Also, I feel that there is no shame when there were people who said that they wouldn't go to Dukesfest. Some of the best things got changed in the world because people boycotted things, that is the best way to get people to listen. There's a lot of people in the world (especially producers) who listen to an empty paycheck like Boss Hogg. So, I don't look down on people who wouldn't go to Dukesfest.

Well, enough said, I think that you get the idea.

All of you have a wonderful Christmas!

  5. What a neat idea, Roger! Count me in for watching the Dukes of Hazzard. I don't know if I can come and chat, though. I might have other plans after the show. But, if I can't make it, I would like to wish each and everyone of you a Merry Christmas.

LoriDavenport-I love that you are thinking Christmas and having "Santa Bo" on as your avatar, great!

And, also, if I'm not here, please have someone watch out for Roger, otherwise he'll be downing WAY to much Eggnog, and then he gets crazier from there!:p

Frosted mugs, General Grant. In the words of Luke Duke, "Are you crazy!" You and your frosted mugs, you've been watching to much Bo Duke, he always orders beer like that!

Alright, I'll talk to ya'll soon! And, have a great Friday Christmas Party-hope I can make it!

  6. Yes, Roger, I think that General Grant is saying that ALL of the 7 season teasers are by Waylon Jennings. But, please don't get upset because you don't understand General Grant, that's often how it is. I never understand General Grant anytime!

Well, General Grant, I really think that you are in a barrel. No escaping this time!:p

  7. I have had some defective DVD's, but I usually found out they were defective in time and could return them and get a better DVD.

Sometimes I have problems with a DVD and I have found it helpful to get a soft cloth. Take the DVD out and kind of clean off the DVD player were the DVD sits in the player. Then, lightly clean the DVD (the side that you are playing, you don't have to clean the top if there is a picture on it). That has always worked for me. If you ever try it, let me know if that works or doesn't work for you.

  8. That's really cool, deathangel_tori! You are obviously into it and more experienced than I am. Like I said, I would love to get more into it, but first I would rather finish putting together my General Lee car!

Your crafts that you are working on sound neat, I bet that everyone who gets those as gifts just adores them!

    Laura Duke;)

  9. Hello chubcityracing!

I just wanted to welcome you to HazzardNet! It looks like you have met some new Hazzard fans. I'm just sorry that you met the crazy ones of this bunch! :p

Oh, don't worry, you learn so many great stuff on this site from others, and I'm sure that you'll be able to tell us stuff that we never knew about. And, as for your dog that's named Cooter-that is awesome! I love that idea!:D

Again, welcome! And, please stick around and join us for the ride! Yeeehaaaawwwww!

  10. Hey Everyone!

Since all of you are Dukes of Hazzard whizzes, I thought that maybe you could help me out on this one. I was reading the book, "The Unofficial Companion to the Dukes of Hazzard" (If anyone has this book and would like to look it up, I'm looking at page 129 under Notes.

Now, I'm referring to Season 2, the show is called "Repo Men". This is one of the first times that Lulu comes on, it's the show about Lulu wanting a Rolls-Royce, but Ace Parker (who works for Boss) sold the last one, and Boss needs to get it back for Lulu. So, they get Bo and Luke to repo in exchange for a motor that could win them the race.

I thought that you would want to know what the show was about, even though my question isn't too involved in the plot of the show But, anyways, in the book it then goes on to say:

Lulu's laugh in the scene was looped in post-production by John Schneider.

What exactly does that mean? Are they trying to say that it is really John Schneider's voice that was put in for Lulu's laugh?

Let me know your thoughts and comments, because I have no idea what is meant here, and I find this really interesting!

    Thanks!

    Laura Duke

  11. I also cross stitch. I think that I'm okay at it, but I definately have room for improvements! :) I've just made some small stuff, but would like to get into crafting even more!

So, playforchrissy, what have been some stitching stuff that you have done so far? Any Dukes of Hazzard related crafts? I've been working on a General model car. It's been a slow process, but I just like to putz around! :)

  12. Oh, now you are making me SO curious! I'm about 6 shows away from "Southern Comfurts" so I can't wait to watch it to see Uncle Jesse faint!

By the way, I think that I'm 5 shows away from "R.I.P. Henry Flatt" I like to watch them in order, so I don't miss anything. But, if you would like me to get that done for you as soon as possible, I wouldn't mind skipping ahead for you. You're choice. I'm okay with either one, skipping ahead or watching them in order. I just didn't want to hold you up from your map making.

    Laura Duke

  13. Well, General Grant and Julieduke, I'm kind of torn.....

First of all, I think that it is SO exciting that they are going to have Knight Rider back on. I've watched that show, and it was really a fun show to watch, so I'm happy to hear that it's on.

But, having a new series of Knight Rider means that it will have different people and cars, which takes out half the fun right there. Plus, Knight Rider was a pretty clean, family-friendly show. But, now it will be up to the "standards" of today, taking away the other half of the fun. I personally don't like listening to swearing and all the other garbage that they have on nowadays.

So, it kind of seems to me that I have more reasons not to watch it than to watch it!:) Has David Hasselhoff said if he was excited about the new re-make of the show or not? It would be interesting to see how he felt about someone trying to fill his shoes, and KITT's!

  14. Hey Everyone!

What's wrong, are there more twists and turns than there is on Old Mill Pond Road?:p

"One Armed Bandits" had Waylon's voice on the teaser. On the teaser you see pictures of the show and then the General Lee flying and Waylon says, "Welcome...... to Hazzard County." But, as the series goes on, about half way into it the voice sounds different for the teaser. And, now I'm in Season 2, and the voice sounds different than Waylons!

Here's an idea: If anyone plans to go to Dukesfest 2008, and get an autograph from John Schneider, could someone ask him if that was Waylon's voice? :p That would definately solve it! :p

    Laura Duke

  15. Great questions, General Grant! I was kind of wondering about all of those questions you had, too. If anyone could let us know, it would be SO much appreciated!

And, like General Grant said, thanks moderators! This is a FABULOUS site, I just love it! Thanks for the hours you've put into it!:p

    Laura Duke

  16. Thanks, Tempest66! That was really interesting!

Another episode she had A VERY SMALL role was on "MacGyver" When I saw that, I was so excited to see her! She looked great!

What would the show have been like without Lulu, especially during the last couple of seasons of the Dukes of Hazzard-that's when Lulu and the Dukes got very close. And, a few times Lulu got Boss Hogg off of the Duke's backs, or else "I'll sleep in your bedroom" or he would have to give up his fridge in his bedroom! :p Wasn't she great!

    Laura Duke

  17. Hmmm.....

Now you're making me think! I can remember Waylon saying he was a fair country doctor, but I don't remember Uncle Jesse fainting! Would you know off-hand if that's season 2 (Southern Comfurts)? Now, I think that I'll have to watch that to see what you are referring to!

    Laura Duke

  18. Hey RogerDuke!

Oh, that's a great idea! I would do the same thing, combine! That makes sense to me. But, I'm still a little confused, I guess that I'm the "blonde" of the group!:p And don't let that get to your head, I see a lot of jokes coming my way!;)

The way you write, you kind of remind me of a lawyer! Ha! Ha!

At any rate, in the words of you, "I'm gone!"

    Laura Duke

  19. Hey, you two! There's nothing wrong with a sip or two of the egg nog-it's good for you!

I never would scare the tourists away! I love tourists, it's fun to meet new people. I was trying to warn them to stay away from General Grant and RogerDuke-they are trouble!:p Some of you are trying to get rid of Big Bird fans, while others are trying to give people who dislike Coy and Vance a hard time! :p

Well, Christine, watch out! And again, welcome! Although, now that you met RogerDuke and General Grant, you probably want to reconsider! ;) Just teasing! Stick around, the fun is just beginning!

    Laura Duke

  20. Hey, Uncle Jesse!

Sorry for not getting back to you that quickly. Hmm.. That's a tough one. But, I was thinking, they are all some form of Mill Pond Road. Couldn't it be that the "Old Ridge Runners" just call it Old Mill Pond Road? Then people like Bo and Luke who are younger just call it Mill Pond Road?

But, you said that you were convinced that they were two different roads. So, first I thought I should choose between one of them. But, then I thought about it some more, so this is my answer to your question: I would put the Duke farm on the corner of Old Mill Pond Road and Mill Pond Road.

So, how did you do it? You know, this map making is tough-but it sure seems like fun. I can't wait to see how your map turns out.
