Luke brought his finger to his mouth in caution quietly stepping forward. He thought he heard voices, but he wasn't sure...his heart was beating so fast it was hard to hear anything above it.

Luke bit his lip nodding, his hands fidgiting. He knew his family would likely have something to say about it, but right now he didn't want to think about that. He just wanted to think about Zack.

"Yes ma'am," answered Luke politely. He felt his hands getting sweaty and wiped them on his jeans, a little worried that he would not be suitable.

*suddenly stops motioning Bo to hide behind a tree as he did the same listening*

It came from that way...let's go *wastes no time running stealthly in the direction towards the caves, though hidding behind trees every so often to listen*

Luke bit his lip nodding after him. "You're welcome son." He hadn't meant to call him that...wasn't sure why he did or why suddenly it felt so natural to say it.

"I wanted t'ask about fosterin' Zack here...lettin him...stay at the farm...with me and my family...." he explained.

Luke climbed out cautiously, grabbing his bow, having a feeling that they would need it. "You see anything?"

Luke nodded a little, guiding Zack to a bench against the wall. There the two sat and waited, for what seemed like hours, for her to come back.

"Right...." said Luke already running to their bedroom door. "Mr. Davenport...Mrs. Davenport!"

Luke shook his head. "I dunno...I just.." His thoughts drifted back to the conversation earlier. "Oh no..he went home...Bo went home..."

*runs a hand through his dark curls, the silence deafening him*

"Scuse me!" said Luke again louder. He held onto Zack's hand gently squeezing it a little, a silent promise that he would never come back here, not if Luke Duke had anything to say about it.

Soon enough Luke was walking back into the orphanage, an arm around Zack. "I'd like t' speak t someone about fosterin' Zack here..."

Luke took the little boy's hand gently, rubbing his hand with his thumb. "Let's go."

"Oh...right...well, how bout we just go back to the orphange an' ask them there to leave a note?" he offered.
