  1. "Good Neighbors Dukes" has one of my alltime favorite quotes, because it sums up so many of the scenes over the years: Bo talking on the CB to Cooter, Jesse, and Daisy: "Luke's got a plan, I'm not exactly sure what it is, but I'm just gonna ride along for the fun of it, smile a lot, and let out a few yee-haws."
  2. When TNN was was airing the show, they never had the intro scenes for the Treasure of Hazzard episode, either. For some reason that episode must have originally aired without the teaser previews.
  3. Cotton is mentioned. I believe that in the episode in which Bo complains about eating beans AGAIN, Daisy specifically replies with "unless that cotton crop you planted yesterday...". They never seem to show any crops, nor do they appear to have enough animals for a working farm--but I guess that's all supposed to be off-camera, somewhere. We see the Dukes working with wood rather than with crops--they haul wood, chop wood, saw wood, stack wood....Where are the crops?
  4. Hello, Jeff! On the Dukes, Carlene Watkins is my favorite "girl guest-star". I've seen Carlene Watkins occasionly appear on Home Improvement as Linda, one of Jill Taylor's sisters. [ Off topic, but Home Improvement also frequently had on Mickey Jones (Cooter's cousin B.B. Davenport) as Pete, one of " the guys from K & B Construction " and also featured (sigh!) Tom Wopat in two episodes as Ian, the Granite Guy. ]
  5. Hey, MaryAnne, I saw the answer to your question as a coolsiteoftheday.com site back in November. This has lots of references to that line from various sources: http://www.darryl.com/badges/
  6. .....when you get stopped for speeding, and you start thinking you should pull the cop's hat down over his face and tie his tie to something in order to make your getaway--but then you realize he's wearing neither a hat nor a tie! (Again, happened to me, had those thoughts )
  7. ...when you hear Waylon Jennings narrating your dreams, even though you are not dreaming about the Dukes of Hazzard at the time! (This happened occasionally to my dreams, back when I was watching the Dukes on TNN all the time.)
  8. Here's one Cooter quote about the script: "Profanity," he says. "A lot of profanity. And these slacker attitudes; punk 20-somethings doing Mad Magazine and 'Saturday Night Live' satires of us. They do this thing where the Duke boys are involved with these lesbians. In fact, the script that I read ended with Bo Duke falling out of a bunk bed and breaking his Johnson while they're straightening out these lesbian girls." It's from a long but interesting article about Ben Jones: http://www.nola.com/living/t-p/index.ssf?/base/living-0/1107241267167620.xml He says: "..... if you can't take your children or your grandchildren to see this thing -- then it's not 'The Dukes of Hazzard.' "
  9. Here's the "John Roland Wood" video, "The Dookes of Danger": http://zed.cbc.ca/go.ZeD?POS=15&CONTENT_ID=195317&FILTER_KEY=169540&page=content
  10. "A motorcycle makeover inspired by a couple of good ol' boys from Hazzard County, Ga., revved up what could have been just another church youth group meeting. " Article includes a fact I didn't know, "country music legend Johnny Cash helped actor John Schneider (Bo Duke) embrace Christianity." http://www.rrstar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050129/ENTERTAINMENT/501290301 "Ministry leaders screened a rock-infused video in which they performed a skit mimicking the conflicts often captured on the TV show"
  11. Thanks to all the fans in LA for keeping us so up to date on the filming! You guys are great!
  12. Wow, thanks for that link, LoneRanger!
  13. Darrell, I was so glad my husband just happened to click by that channel at the beginning of that show. I loved it! That is my kind of country music. I miss the old days on the radio when Waylon and Hank Jr. ruled. In the episode, I especially liked Hank and Jessi doing Waylon's "Good Hearted Woman" together. You're right, that kind of music would be great in the new movie. Did you see CMT's "Greatest Outlaws Dirty Dozen"? Waylon is the greatest outlaw singer. I miss his music.
  14. Oh, dear, actually I myself had thought that "Keep your hands to yourself" song was George Thoroughgood . Hazzardnet gives me a well-rounded education with more than just Dukes' info.
  15. Hi, Johnny, and thanks for sharing that video clip. It made me smile, even though I didn't understand the words.
  16. Hello, Lone Ranger17! I like your idea of Andy Griffith as Uncle Jesse. After all, Denver Pyle did a number of "Andy Griffith Show" episodes as Brisco Darling, an earlier and seedier version of the Uncle Jesse family patriarch. Andy as Jesse would be like coming full circle back to Denver Pyle, in a way. Like you, I wondered which two parts Randy Travis is being condidered for. I can see him as Enos, Jesse, or the Balladeer.
  17. Randy Travis just got a star on the Hollywood walk of fame, and this is a quote from the cmt.com article about it: "At a post-ceremony reception, Travis told CMT News that he is now considering a part in the upcoming big-screen remake of the TV show Dukes of Hazzard. He is up for two parts in the film, but he's not sure his touring schedule will allow it. "We've booked into December dates to go out and play, so I don't know what's going to happen," he said. 18. Hi, Darrell, here again is the Ben Jones AP article you mentioned had gotten lost when the forums were down: " "Cooter" unhappy with casting for Hazzard movie WASHINGTON A former star in "The Dukes of Hazzard" television show is unhappy about who might play the characters in a new movie. Ben Jones of Virginia, who played "Cooter" in the series, says he doesn't want to see Jessica Simpson playing Daisy Duke, or Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott as Luke and Bo. Jones says he wrote a letter to the producers suggesting that they cast the original stars of "The Dukes of Hazzard" in the movie version. He says they could then hand off the franchise to the next generation. As for Boss Hogg and Uncle Jesse, Jones suggests Danny DeVito and Robert Duvall for those roles. The original actors died. And Cooter? Jones says no one could play that role better than he can. He says "once you're Cooter, you're always Cooter." Jones lost his race for Congress in 2002 against incumbent Eric Cantor. He served two terms in Congress when he lived in Georgia. The Portsmouth native, owns Cooter's Place, a "Dukes of Hazzard" museum and general store, in Sperryville. " Copyright 2004 Associated Press. 19. This quote from a John Schneider interview makes the movie look a little more hopeful than we've been thinking: "JOHN: .........the pending Dukes of Hazzard movie. I just read the latest draft of it; it's good, and it's very reminiscent of the show. That says to me that the people involved with it are fans of the show and want to do the show they remember, and not do some new fart gag movie for 2005. " He gives his views on Jessica Simpson, Smallville, TV fatherhood. It's a little long, but a fun article. Especially check out his take as to whether Jonathan Kent is a grown-up Bo Duke or a grown-up Luke Duke! "Bo probably got into a fight somewhere with the wrong person......" http://www.ugo.com/channels/filmtv/features/fallTV2004/scifi/smallville.asp
  20. Hey, I agree, avatars would be great. Is it possible?
  21. Wow, Brian, that is terrific logic in favor of the flag! Great post.
  22. John Schneider plays the groom and Kiss' Gene Simmons plays the preacher in this music video by country band Trick Pony. Click on "The Bride": http://www.cmt.com/artists/az/trick_pony/artist.jhtml
  23. "Has Bo Duke grown up to be Uncle Jesse?" In this interview John discusses Smallville, Dukes of Hazzard, and Uncle Jesse. http://www.bakersfield.com/state_wire/story/4745022p-4795154c.html
  24. Hello, joduke25! Yes, I loved the scene where Jonathan was driving down the road in his truck, listening to Waylon sing the Dukes' theme on the radio. Just as good was the episode "Delete", where we see Jonathan and Martha's Email address is CNH320@........, the General Lee's license number! And did y'all notice the episode scene a couple months ago where Jonathan tells Clark that he and his own father were always "Duke-ing it out"?
  25. For those of you who, like me, don't have the DVDs yet, here are 6 clips from the DVD extras: http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hv&cf=trailer&id=1808556170
