We were getting ready to leave to get our taxes done this morning when we heard a siren. That's a pretty rare sound around here because we live on a dirt road that gets very few cars. I looked out the window and saw a vehicle flying down the road. A state cop was in hot pursuit, and then a second patrol SUV, then a third patrol SUV. There was a 5 second gap and then a fourth patrol SUV. We watched the local tv news programs and they never mentioned anything so I still don't know what it was but I'll bet that meth was involved. I don't think I've ever witnessed a police hot pursuit before....at least I can't remember. Of course I've been thinking about Hazzard County all day because of it. I'll update you if I found out what happened. I'm a bit happy it wasn't on the news because that means nobody got hurt. 

Just think! Now I've got a cousin who knows how to build Duke trucks!!

Now gotta add the last of the lights.  First the tow rig has six small rounded-rectangular position lights.  To make them all as uniform as possible I made a master shape from styrene, then made impressions of it in moldmaking material.  I made a lot of extras since I wanted a lot to choose from, and would only take the best 6.  This ended up being a very wise move.  Clear resin was poured into the mold impressions and thank God there were 6 decent ones to use from the resulting blob.  They had to be right the first time since trying to clean up and reshape anything that small would be a nightmare.



 
Now the grill/headlight assembly.  Chrome was removed by soaking in bleach, and damage done by previous owner/assembler was repaired.  Headlights were drilled out completely.  Whole thing primed and painted in Alclad Stainless Steel (more of a workhorse appearance than chrome).  New headlights fashioned from acrylic gemstones/rhinestones, with the facets sanded smooth and then polished to shine.  The result is far more convincing than chrome headlights the same color as the grill & bumper.


 

I don't think it'd be a financial decision on WB's part otherwise Airy.tv would have had worked out a deal before their license expired. WB most likely wants to distance itself from the confederate flag and General Lee name as much as possible and since DoH has both WB is probably not going to allow it to be put on tv or streamed.

Population has to be in the thousands and with a plant or distribution center nearby that has 3 shifts or by a main thoroughfare like I-75 otherwise what would be the point if being open 24/7

pretty good. Didn't know about the band Stars and Bars from Dunlap. That's just down the road from me.

Heard back from them...their license to air episodes expired. They're trying to work out a new deal but with the current 'cancel culture' climate DoH might not be back on their apps.

OK...i've thought about this. OK....Hazzard is very  small and doesn't even have it's own hospital. ( barely it's own police force...LOL !! )  We hear from Waylon, from time to time, about Shorty's All Night Rib Shack and Pizza Parlor, on  Frontage Road.  It never even shows Frontage Road on any episode and how much money and how many people would a city/town have to have, to have ANYTHING able to function  all night/24 Hr.  ???   

I just finished my Vilkings series.....6 seasons in less than 2 months. It was pretty amazing and kept me wanting more. I wouldn't be surprised if the Duke family had some Viking in them. They are pretty adventurous. The only thing I can remember from the show is they had relatives from England so the Dukes may be more related to HossC than Ragnar Lothbrok.

Not sure why but Dukes of Hazzard has been removed from both the phone and streaming media player Airy.tv apps. It was kind of nice watching the Dukes without having to dig out a dvd.

That was a shock when I loaded up the airy app on my Roku device yesterday when I got home and seen the Dukes of Hazzard channel. It's on 24/7 so you can catch an episode any time of the day

I have to admit I like the road courses. Sure was an interesting Daytona with two guys, McDowell and Bell, winning their first ever race. Hamlin and Chase bumping and knocking Chase back so far was tough to watch. How 'bout the other Chase and that missing hood! It looked like a car at a dirt track.

Basically what I was thinking. These guys are very good! ( and here I had to go to college and take a course just to learn how to draw a straight line!   )

Y'all are 'way too kind...believe me I'm a mere mortal myself, just ask my sweetheart or anyone who works with me!  Not sure about Hoss though...
The red paint on the wrecker was going to be critical.  It isn't regular red.  Not only is it sort of a brick red color, but it's also stained and heavily sunbleached, giving a chalky appearance.  You know, like playground equipment that gets sunbleached and then when you touch it you get white chalky residue on your hand?  That's what it looks like.
So.  How to do sunbleached off-red without making it look straight pink?  
I started with a mixture of dark red, flat red and rust brown and sprayed everything in a base color.
Then I used a mixture I came up with years ago that I call "Brick Red" and went over everything carefully, again.  It's slightly lighter than the first color mix.
Then I went back over it again with a VERY thinned mixture of light gray/off-white (36622 Camouflage Gray in military parlance, the color of the undersides of US warplanes in Vietnam).  
Then I went back with a wash of watercolor sludge (after this pic) and the result was almost perfect!

 
Now to add the taillights.  I made them using acrylic rhinestones/gemstones.  Don't use glass ones, because the acrylic ones can be sanded to remove the facets and make them smooth once polished.  Two were done in clear red, the other two left clear.  

The two shows that are not available are for very different reasons. One was hosted by an actor who has since been convicted and jailed for certain material he downloaded, while the other is because of music rights issues. Apparently, one of the "offensive" issues we need to be warned about is Johnny Cash singing in front of a Confederate flag. The version of the story I read was on the BBC News site.

Disney just deemed The Muppet Show offensive . A couple of episodes have been completely removed from the Disney+ streaming service while others have an "offensive" disclaimer. If you liked the show best get it on dvd while you can before Disney "cancels" it and stops making the dvd sets.

Toyota swept the weekend's races at the Daytona road course winning all three races. The truck race was the only controversial finish with a phantom caution thrown on the last lap which also gave Toyota it's 200th truck series win  . Joe Gibbs grandson Ty Gibbs won his first Xfinity race which was also his first Xfinity series start. Christopher Bell won the Cup series race after the favorites to win were taken out of contention with bad pitstops or part failures or incidents. Denny Hamlin took out Chase Elliot with a handful of laps to go when they were battling to pass Brad Keselowski.
