RogerDuke reacted to Spike in NASCAR news
Kyle Larson won his 3rd consecutive race last night at the All Star Race in Texas. This is his second All Star Race win. Hendrick Motorsports 4 cars all finished in the top 10 as did Penske's 3 cars.
Top 10
1 Kyle Larson
2 Brad Keselowski
3 Chase Elliot
4 Joey Logano
5 Ryan Blaney
6 Alex Bowman
7 William Byron
8 Aric Almirola
9 Kyle Busch
10 Kurt Busch
Now onto the latest rumors...
Jeff Gordon might be leaving the broadcast booth for a bigger role at Hendrick Motorsports.
Kurt Busch seems to be a hot commodity in the silly season. Both 23XI Racing and Track house racing have contacted him to drive a second car next season. Kurt says he will wait to hear from Chip Ganassi first before beginning talks with another team.
Brad Keselowski and Roger Penske are keeping mum on Brad's plans for next year. Though if I was a betting man I'd say Brad is going to move to RFR for 2022.

Might have witnessed a burglary tonight. Was chatting with a neighbor and noticed this guy park his old S10 and walk around the parking lot then leave. 5 minutes later he comes back parks next to my car walks to an apartment building clear across the parking lot. Then we hear dogs barking and see him running with a full garbage bag jump in his truck and take off. I called the police but the operator almost made it sound like I was calling on an innocent person. "What makes you think he's doing something?" "What's wrong with parking there and going to another building?" Think next time I'll just see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil unless it happens to a neighbor I know.

Man, sorry to hear that Spike....it's a dang shame when honest folks don't even know whether to help or not anymore.
A year and a half ago I witnessed a breakin in progress in the wee hours; I called it in, but the Tucson Police have been so underfunded for decades (dare I say "de-funded) that they didn't have an available unit until 4 hours later.

I've only had one set. Waiting for each season to come out was as exciting as late Friday afternoon and waiting until 8:00 from 1979-1985. One of the secrets to happiness is having something to look forward to.

Thanks for all the kind comments!
Most folks know that auto glass has a slight tint to it, a sort of bluish-green. I prepare a solution of clear acrylic floor polish (formerly Future), tinted with a few drops of blue and green food coloring. Clean and polish the windscreen and rear window, and dip them into the solution. Position them upside-down so the color settles slightly to the top of the glass as it dries and cures.
I never leave the tires looking unused/showroom-new, especially for a car that spends its days speeding up and down country roads. I sand all over each tire with fine grade sandpaper, then with heavier grit on the tread. Once done I take them outside and grind the tread surfaces through the dirt/dust in my front yard. Wipe off the excess and voila, country-used tires.
Bigger problem is removing the GTX emblem from the grill. All logos/emblems were removed for the vehicles in the show, apparently making Hazzard County Detroit-brand-free. It was easy enough to remove most of the emblems from the body, but the grill was tougher. First the emblem was ground down to grill level with a moto-drill. Then, each rectangle in the grill was carefully cut out of the emblem....actually ended up easier than I thought.
The result isn't quite 100% perfect, but not bad.
Finally, take both cleaned-up bumpers along with the rear-view mirrors and the donated wheel hubs and prepare for Alclad chrome. First, primer. Second, gloss black. Third, allow 24 hours for the black to cure. Finally spray the Alclad chrome.

I got together with some of my astronomer friends this morning to view the partial solar eclipse. (In parts of Canada it was an annular eclipse. The Moon was too far away from Earth to be big enough to cover the Sun). It was pretty cool. We missed the first 20 minutes of it because of clouds but we were just happy to see it at all. We tried to observe stars the night before but that was cloudy.

That was just a little too much Duke boy skin for my tastes. The ladies seemed to enjoy it though.

Thanks Dixie but don't give me too much credit. Because of my deep love of the show, I have amassed a pretty fat notebook full of information about Hazzard County. I've learned to depend on the notebook more than my memory.
*starts looking around frantically*
Now, if I can just remember where I put my notebook.

*wipes sweat from forehead from worrying so much*
Please don't tell me that she's riding a wheelie all the way to Atlanta on her dirt bike or I'll start worrying again.

Easy now Garrett.
Choose your words carefully.
An old feller like me can't take much of a shock to his system ya know.
(Better yet, don't say any more at all)
LOL

I know what you mean Lukas KD. It's a good thing Hazzard County is real. Otherwise folks would think I'm about a half bubble off plum.

RogerDuke got a reaction from Skipper Duke in Gary Baxley-Pelham 123
My wife and I rented "The Taking of Pelham 123" tonight. Normally I don't read credits at the end of a movie but for some reason I caught these.
After the name Gary Baxley caught my eye I backed it up to make sure I read it right.
After that, I went to his bio on the internet, and sure enough, Hazzard County's very own Gary Baxley was one of the stunt men on that movie. I wish I would have know which stunt (or stunts) he did.
It's always a thrill to see a Hazzardite's name on the screen when you're not expecting it.

Skipper! Happy Birthday cousin! Sorry I missed it. We were out of town yesterday evening and didn't get back until this afternoon. We didn't have internet where we were at. I hope you had a great day. You are a cool dude and a big Dukes fan and you deserve to have a happy birthday so I hope you did!
