  1. Bo drew in a sharp intake of breath and let it out slowly, swallowing. "Yes sir....can I sit down though....my legs ain't up ta standin' fer ages yet...."
  2. Bo looks away from Luke as Uncle Jesse speaks to him, smiling and nodding slightly "Much better this mornin' Uncle Jesse.....I's can say more without pausin' for breath....and I dressed myself...."
  3. Bo grimaced and ran his hand down his face as he now realised his mistake. He hadn't meant to curse like that, it just slipped, another one of those 'whoops I should have thought before I spoke' times. "Yeah....oh I hope he didn't hear me say that...."
  4. lol yeah me too. I cant imagine Bo really hating kids, its not possible.
  5. Yeah I rekon he was joking.
  6. No idea....I think he may have been joking though. He does laugh afterwards.
  7. As B.L surprises them, Bo practically leaps backwards into Luke's arms, trembling with shock and fright before relaxing slightly. "Christ....B.L you scared the heck outta me....
  8. He said it in One Armed Bandits. The rudy kid is squirtin flies in the back of the General Lee, he laughs at first and then turns to Jill and goes 'I hate kids.'
  9. Bo grinned and nodded, his eyes sparking with glee. "I thought you'd never ask!"
  10. Bo grinned and pushed himself gently to his feet, picking up half of the stack of plates, realising thats all he could probably manage and starts to put them away gently, resting them on the side and doing them one by one, not having the strength to lift them all onto the pile in the cupboard at once.
  11. Bo sighed as he was forced to sit back down, fully intent on yelling at Luke. But he fights it back down, he knew Luke said he could handle it but Bo knew that it hurt him everytime it happened. So, as he waited for Luke to pass him a plate to dry, he stared at a blank spot on the wall, keeping his mind focused on everything but what had just happened. He took the plate and carefully dried it, automatically nearly standing up to put it away. But he quickly realised his mistake and stacked the plate on the end of the table, not moving from his seat, waiting for the next plate.
  12. Daisy nodded and smiled thankfully at B.l, gesturing that they had better get back to the chores before Uncle Jesse came round and gave them a switching. Bo reached up with one hand to grasp Luke's while it rested on his shoulder, leaning his cheek on it in thanks before turning round in the seat and using the table and back of the chair to help him stand up. "I'll help ya with the dishes."
  13. Hey, Me and B.L Davenport are writing one in the Round Robin section of this where Bo gets sick if you would like to read that one. Its called Double Duke Trouble
  14. Bo sighed, defeated. Luke didn't understand, he didn't think he would. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't stop it....he just prayed that when the time came to have it out with Uncle Jesse that he managed to keep his emotions under control. "Yeah...sure Luke...." Daisy bit her bottom lip gently. She knew that Uncle Jesse was planning on giving Bo a switching...at least he had been yesterday. But would he go that far as to throw him out of the house? After all that had happened Daisy couldn't see him doing it...but then again when Jesse was in a rage she wasn't quite sure what he was capable of. She looked worridly over to B.L, saying nothing.
  15. Daisy smiled at B.L and tilted her head towards the door, showing her she was listening to Bo and Luke, moving over slightly so she could see. Bo sighed and looked back to Luke, a confused look in his own eyes. "But Luke that's just it....I can't stop myself blowin' off at people and resisitin what they's tellin' me...there's somethin' inside a me that just...just takes over and it don't matter who it is....it just happens! What if Uncle Jesse does decide to switch me and tell me.....to go out to the barn and I say No? What if....what if he throws me out Luke...."
  16. Daisy had heard the slam of Bo's hand on the old table as she walked past the kitchen window, and thanks to Bo's raised voice, only had to hunch on the porch by the door to hear what was being said. Tears welled in her eyes as she heard what Bo was sayin and when she heard Luke's acceptance. Things were turning back to normal. Bo sighed and put his head in his hands. "God Luke....what's happenin' to me....I don't like resistin' everyone like this...I'm scared Luke..."
  17. Bo ran his hand though his hair before slamming it on the table in front of him. "Don't ya think I know that Luke?! I don't need ta be reminded that I died, the slight paddle burns on my chest....remind me o'that thanks. And for your information, I didn't make that jump last night cause I wanted....ta prove that I's was back to normal, dang I know i ain't.....I guess I did it 'cause it was the only thing I could a done. If I hadn't, you'd have gone after 'em, but the rate they's was goin' they never woulda stopped if you pulled out in front of 'em....my only thought was on sparin' Uncle Jesse the pain of losin' both of us....cause we woulda died Luke.....if they hit us we woulda died....I couldn't do that ta him..." He stopped for a moment to catch his breath and let what he had said sink in to Luke before continuing. "I thought that...if it was my time to go....then this would be it....doin' what I love and do best....protectin' my family and runnin' on a wild adventure with my cousin.....my brother....kinda like a leap o'faith...."
  18. Bo swallowed the slight lump in his throat, he hated it when Luke yelled at him or made him feel like this. "Luke I....what d'ya want me ta do Luke...." But suddenly the feeling that he was being controlled again sprang up and his plea suddenly turned into an attack of his own. "Actually....why should I be apologisin'? You woulda done the same thing Lukas Duke....what right have you got ta tell me of fer doing it?"
  19. Bo, who had been drinking some milk at the time that Luke poked him sharply in the shoulder, was caught off guard by the sudden rant. He gently set the milk glass back on the table and swallowed his mouthful slowly, partly because he was thinking of what he should tell Luke and partly because it would still hurt to swallow it all in one go. "Well....I dunno it just...sorta....happened. I guess I'm so used to doin' stuff lika that....that when the adrenaline kicked in I just acted on instinct. I didn't really think about it till afterward....and this mornin'. I'm real sorry Luke I never meant ta scare you like that."
  20. As Bo reached the kitchen and sank gently into a chair, his chest still sore from the hard landing last night. "Well why ain't we out doin' our regular chores?" He already knew the answer before Luke said it, he just couldn't help but to ask though.
  21. Stops to think for a moment, reailzing eventually that just the smell of coffee was making him feel a bit queasy. "Uh...milk please Luke...." Then he starts to walk steadily forward again, slightly annoyed at how long a simple 5 second was now taking him near enough 5 minutes.
  22. Bo looked up and smiled as he saw Luke at the end of the hallway, thankful that he didnt run up and immediatly try to help him. "Mornin' Luke...yeah some breakfast would be....great thanks."
  23. She sighed, nodding as she got down to the chores. "I know you don't know B.L...none of us do...I'm not even sure Jesse knows himself....but somehow I don't think Bo tryin' ta talk his way out of it is gonna do too much good..." Bo stirred again as he slowly realised he could no longer hear his cousin's breathing. He woke up and looked over to Luke's bed, and upon seeing it empty, silently cursed as he realised that he'd probably be missing doing the chores. He slid gently out of bed, hissing as a dull pain throbbed at his chest. He looked down as he rubbed it and realised that it was covered with a heck of a bruise. Shaking his head he pulled on his shirt and buttoned it up, before pulling his jeans on. It took a lot longer than usual because he did have to keep stopping and taking calming breaths to soothe his frustration, but he got there eventually, finally sliding his boots on. He made his way down the hallway, using the wall for support as he still felt a bit shaky on his legs.
  24. Daisy shook her head. "I just keep thinkin' about what he's plannin' ta do to Bo...I mean he won't really...will he? I know him as well as the boys do, and I know back then we would have got a switchin' fer that....but Bo's a grown man....he's....well he ain't well and personally I could see where he was comin' from....now that I think about it..."
  25. Daisy laughs and sets about her chores. "We'd never know who wins though, we's goin' ta be runnin' round all over the farm this mornin'. Now come on, get movin' afore Uncle Jesse gets at us."
