  1. Hey, how are you doing today? Don't worry, I'll be here to talk Nascar all winter. :-P I doubt that the person who hit me will be caught. We really didn't get a good description so it'll be like a one in a million chance that they find them. Oh well, that's life I guess. At least I have some good friends that are willing to help me fix up my car. It's not damaged a whole lot, it's just that it happened to begin with and I didn't have any closure on it.

  2. Part two of my friday night excitment:

So I called the state troopers to make a report. There were so many of us standing there that the trooper took me into his car to get my statement and fill out the paperwork. First time I've ever been in a cop car. When the trooper asked me if I would sit in the car with him I said only if I could sit in the front. I didn't want to sit in the back and be locked in. So then he told me that they tranport people in the front seat too. We had a little fun spotlighting my brothers and cousins who were with me though. He was trying to see my licence plate, but we thought it would be fun to freak them out a little to and spotlighted them. As far as I know the other driver was never caught though. That sucks. So that was my excitement this weekend. Life is never boring. lol

  3. Well, I had my first experience sitting in a cop car this weekend. No, don't think anything bad about me. I was the victim, or at least my car was, of a hit and run. I was waiting to make a left turn on a small two lane highway and I guess they decided they didn't want to wait. I guess they tried to pass me on the shoulder of the road. They just misjudged the distance. From what we could figure out, their side mirror hit the back of my car (a small suv) above my taillights. Then their fender scraped my rear fender and they took out my side view mirror. They didn't even stop, they just kept right on going. It was scary, but at least no one got hurt.

  4. I know, I'm probably the only person in the world who doesn't care about going to Daytona. I think I would like to go to Vegas, as long as it wasn't too hot. Or maybe Texas, I think that would be fun too. We were talking about checking out Chicagoland the other night. We're looking for a race in the summer. Both my brother and sister in law are teachers, so they need to find a race that they won't have to miss school for. I'm not sure when the races are in Chicago, so we are going to check those out. I'm partial to Charlotte and of course Bristol though. And I do like going to Talladega also. Kansas was fun too, but it's through the school year. I guess I have some homework to do. lol

  5. The announcers were annoying today. They did seem to go on and on about Johnson and Kyle Busch. There are 40 some other drivers in the race, why couldn't they talk a little about them. I got annoyed with the ticker that runs across the top of the screen too. I wanted to see how many laps Johnson had been out, but every time it got close to showing him they would stop it or it would go to commercial. That started getting to me.

  6. It was bad when Gordon got spun out, and I feel really bad for Carl. His comment in his interview showed his frustration I think. When he said that at least he'd win the race home. And the only good thing was he'd be seeing his wife. Poor guy, he's just not having much luck.

Busch's crew chief did seem a little downtrodden, on that I have to agree with you.

  7. I'm not sure what was up with Gordon. I know his pit crew had a problem that one time with the right rear tire change. And can you believe all of the problems on pit road there at the end? How many cars stalled out when everyone was stopping for gas? I thought it was just going to be Jr at first. I was thinking good grief, can't this guy have a good day for once? But then others were having the same problem. I was happy for Kurt that he won. It was sad, but I was relieved when Kyle Busch ran out of gas. I almost thought he had it at first, but then his crew chief kept saying to slow down and conserve gas and it seemed to me that Kyle wasn't doing it.

  8. Wow, what a race. It was boring at times, but it was kind of exciting too. I know you are a Jimmie fan, but I have to admit that when I saw him spun out that I was a little excited. Thank goodness he wasn't hurt or anything. But him having a bad race let a few others gain some points on him. Now the last two races will be a little more exciting because the Championship isn't quite decided yet. I'm sure Johnson will come back harder than ever next week and at Homestead. But now Martin and Gordon are closer and still have a chance at the big win.

  9. 55 for Daytona huh? That's a pretty good deal. I'm probably the only person you'll ever hear say this, but I really don't know if I would want to go to Daytona. There are other tracks I think I'd like to go to first. Don't tell anyone I said that though. lol :escape:

  10. Yep, I'm pretty sure Johnson has the championship all wrapped up again. Good for him I guess, but if we don't get a change next year I can see a lot of complaining about how boring the Chase is becoming too. Unless some big and bad happens, like his motor blowing up in the first lap of the race or something, he has it. I still hold out hope for Martin, but its not a big hope. Johnson is just too good on these tracks and his crew chief is to good with the car.

Gordon could very well pull out another win at Texas though. He's good there. But so is Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards. I guess we will see Sunday. I can't believe its almost over for this year. What in the world am I going to do with myself? Talk to you about all the news I guess. lol

  11. So Talladega was crazy those last few laps huh? I was pretty bored through most of the race, but those last laps were exciting and not in a good way. I noticed that Brad K. was one of the pushers in that wreck. I was having flashbacks of this spring with Carl. It wasn't the same I know, but I still saw the similarities.

I was on the edge of my seat until I heard Newman tell his crew chief he was ok. That was down right scary. And then my dad says, well I guess that was the big one. Oh no, I said you just watch. They are going to scramble and it's going to be one big mess before its finished. That is what seems like always happens. They lay back and try to stay safe for most of the race and then as the laps dwindle more and more bold moves are made. Some work and no wrecks happen, others... well we saw some of those. Scary, but exciting in its own way.

  12. Hey Garrett! I'm so sorry I haven't written in a while. I was called up for Jury Duty and have been pretty much every day this week. Ugh... I didn't even get chosen, but I still had to go and sit and wait and wait and get questioned and wait and then finally leave to go back to work for a few hours. Enough time to check emails and not get anything done. Like I said, ugh. It wore me out though. So again, sorry I haven't gotten back with you.

  13. Just wanted to wish you a happy Halloween! Enjoy your weekend!

  14. So Talladega this weekend... I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Fingers crossed for Martin and Gordon at this one. Carl too even though he won't ever catch up in points, I just hope he misses the big one this time. I'm curious to see the fans this time too. I wonder how many will be dressed up in Halloween costumes? And will the tv coverage show them? We shall soon see I guess. lol

  15. You didn't complain too much. I was just as confused and disgruntled as you were (even if I'm not a die hard Gordon fan!) lol Feel free to vent to me anytime. I know I can vent to you about these things and you'll understand and vice versa. So let it fly and I'll stand by to listen! lol

  16. I hate to be realistic too, and I still have my hopes. I guess we will see what happens Sunday. It should be the telling factor if JJ is going to take it all or if Gordon or Martin are going to challenge him. I sure do hope so. I at least want the last few races to be exciting. You know what I mean?

The wrestling was okay, but the best part was when Kyle Busch's car was defaced. It's probably bad to say, but I did giggle when it happened. :innocent:

  17. I dearly hope Montoya's got his aggressiveness out for now, or at least tone it down for Dega. He could ruin a whole heck of a lot of team's day. I still don't understand why he can get away with it when others can't. Nascar really needs to stick to their own rules and enforce them for everyone. My opinion of course.

  18. What is Montoya getting at, Gordon is hard to race. Well, yeah, that's kind of the point of a race right? It wouldn't be much of a race if they just move over and let others pass them. In a old English accent..."Oh, I'm sorry chap, I didn't see you there. Here now, let me move over here and you go ahead. I'm positive old chap, you are clearly the better driver and I'm just holding you up..." etc, etc. lol Okay so maybe not, but I bet that's something of what Montoya thinks should happen for him. Good grief is all I can say. I didn't venture onto nascar.com today. I read a few articles on Yahoo, but that was it. It was a pretty busy day. I'm sure I wold have skipped over it too though.

  19. If I end up with any extra tickets for Bristol, you'll be the first one to know I promise.:D I won the lottery drawing last year so now as long as I continue to renew each year I will have the same seats. Hopefully I will be able to continue to afford them. As of now we have six seats and we all share hotel and gas costs. I wish I could get into the Fall race there though, the night race. That would really be awesome. I know last year one of my brother's friends was able to get a couple of tickets off of ticketmaster also. It's an option if you're interested. Then we could meet up and have fun at a race!

  20. Thanks for the birthday wishes Daisy!!! Have a great night!

  21. Well, I just made hotel reservations for the Bristol race in the spring. It's exciting thinking about going to another race, even if it is a few months away. I guess the thought will have to get me through the winter months without Nascar. lol At least I have my new buddy Garrett to bore to death with Nascar talk when there aren't any races. lol

  22. I hate to say it, but it looks like Johnson is going to get another championship unless something happens at Dega. I don't wish the big wreck on anyone after witnessing Carl's wreck this spring, but unless Johnson has a bad week it seems like he might get another one. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Gordon and Martin though. It should be exciting though, Talladega usually is. lol

  23. I'm not sure what was with Montoya on Sunday. I know they kept going on about how he didn't have anything to lose and he was just going all out to see if they good gain anything. Well, he certainly did that. I had to giggle a little bit when Gordon said over his radio that he didn't know what it was about but he was getting pissed. But in the post race interview he didn't seem very pissed. He was just saying how he wasn't sure if he had done something to Montoya or not. Hopefully it doesn't continue on to Talledega. That could be spell disaster for more than those two. Let alone their chase standings.

  24. I did see the race on Sunday, so you didn't ruin anything for me. It would have been okay either way, because I'm sure if I didn't see it I would have heard about it from family members. lol

The announcers we have now just aren't as good as Fox announcers in my opinion. It seems like they go on and on about some things that really don't matter too much. And the stuff they should talk about a lot, they barely mentioned. That's the way it seems to me anyway. lol I like Dale Jarrett and Rusty as drivers, but they don't thrill me as announcers. I wonder what kind of announcer Mark Martin would make? I bet Jeff Gordon would be good as well as Carl. Tony Stewart would probably be entertaining. lol

  25. Well, I decided not to go with the job. The pay was less than I was expecting and I don't know if I could live on it with my car payment and rent, etc, etc. I'm hoping somthing comes up next spring that will be a better fit for me. I have a good job now, I'm just ready for a change and to be closer to my family. In this economy it's scary to change jobs now anyway. I've been in my current position for over seven years now, so I have seniority. That's a good thing at this time. lol
