"Daisy Dukes" have officially been added to the Oxford English Dictionary, 46 years after we first saw them on screen. They are among over 230 new words/terms that will now appear in the OED. The Irish Sun (national tabloid newspaper) even made it their featured addition in this article. You can see the dictionary entry here. In case you weren't sure about the definition: Daisy Dukes, noun colloquial (originally and chiefly U.S.). Brief, tight-fitting denim shorts, typically made from a pair of cut-off jeans and usually worn by women. Also as a modifier with the first element in singular form, in Daisy Duke shorts.

I grew up with the show, but have had a stronger resurgence of my 'fandom' in the last few years. I dove heavily into the show since then and have come to understand why it appeals to me. However, I know few people who are still interested enough to talk about different aspects of the show- that's why I come here. So for the past few years, I've been wallowing in my Dukes fandom in relative isolation. That is until this week! Congratulations to "Slick ", a/k/a Christopher Nelson, who was awarded the CMT VP gig. Formal announcement to be made at DukesFest, but CNN hit the wire with it this morning, so what the hell. I can't believe I'm typing "Glee" in the HazzardNet Forums, but... YES! It's true! John has landed a role on Glee. Here's the tidbit Mufn found on the net: "John Schneider has landed the role of Sam's father and will first appear in this season's eighth episode, which marks Chord Overstreet's return to Glee. Glee airs Tuesdays at 8:00 p.m. eastern on Fox." I don't know what this means, exactly, but there ya go!

Anybody going to see Ben Jones at the International Auto Showcase at the New York State Fairgrounds this weekend? If so, we'd greatly appreciate any photos you can share! Just a reminder, there are a slew of cast appearances coming up and many of these were listed in our March 2012 Newsletter. National Public Radio (NPR) is airing old interviews of country music stars this week. Tomorrow (Wed) at 3:00 Eastern Standard Time they will feature Waylon and Willie. I think they're airing the Willie interview first. It sure would be cool if the Waylon interview occured when Dukes was being filmed and he mentions our favorite show. If you miss it, it might be available on their website after Wednesday. I'm not sure though.
