I've spent less money on an entire car than a catalytic converter costs.

That was nice of you Spike. You are a real Hazzardite.

I've been watching a lot of those survival shows. It really is amazing what people can live through when they put their minds to it.

Yeah it's crazy how much those cost these days. I read for some vehicles it's over $3,000. Yesterday afternoon I noticed a car driving down the road that just had the converter cut off. They've been hitting apartment complexes here getting a few of them then fleeing before the police get there.

That's just a piece of trash trying to cover for himself!  Of course, it also show how she raised him!

Yeah. She blessed and thanked me and said her son will finish removing the slush boulders from the front of the driveway and sent me off. As I was leaving I looked in the mirror and just seen him stand there watching her slowly push them. I would've gone back but didn't want to wear out my welcome.

Wife showed me this story about a lady who put gorilla glue in her hair who is now thinking about suing Gorilla glue company because it doesn't specifically say not to on the bottle. I guess the $10k she's gotten so far on gofundme isn't enough, must be great to get paid thousands of dollars for your own stupidity. Sad part is she's a teacher

I saw a meme yesterday with a picture of a roll of Gorilla permanent tape which was captioned "Louisiana waxing kit". The lady may get some money, but she's not getting much sympathy from the general public!

So far she's got almost $22,000 on her GoFundMe page and a Dr did the procedure to remove the glue for free. Apparently she's still planning to sue Gorilla glue company and they'll probably settle to keep out of publicity. Must be wonderful to get such big windfall of $$$ for your own stupidity. If this lady had any morals she'd donate the gofundme money to a food bank or some other charity.

Sure don't get your money's worth at Bob Evans anymore. Got their new fried chicken dinner and let me tell you it don't look like the picture on their menu. When we got home I thought I got the wrong meal but nope it was correct just a lot smaller than than the menu picture. Ever since those dang wall street jackals bought Bob Evans restaurants portions have shrunk and customer service has gone down hill.

My dad's procrastinating struck again. Lost out on a deal for a used snowblower. Was gonna go in half and half with him but since he procrastinated in calling his brother it got sold :censored::evil: :censored::censored:. I have so had it with his procrastination BS. Local channels are saying we could see up to a foot of snow by Tuesday morning, so yeah really could have used that snowblower.

I'm glad I'm retired. We have a 150 foot driveway and I've never owned a snowblower. We're supposed to get a foot too but I'll have all day to keep up with it. They showed a nationwide map and this storm is huge....creating a swath from New England to New Mexico. I was supposed to take my mom to a specialist in Pittsburgh (2 hours away) Tuesday morning but that's supposed to be the worst of it so we're going to change the appointment. Today was the 25th anniversary of asking my wife to marry me. Good news today, we found a shih-tzu puppy. It's only 2 days old but we'll be getting it in April. We haven't had a dog for 5 years.

Happy engagement anniversary Roger.

Snow was heavy this morning when I cleaned the car off for the wife. When I got done cleaning the windows off the windshield was completely covered again. Think we're going to get 3+ before the afternoon break before the 2nd round tonight. I'm not looking forward to Tuesday morning, got two long driveways to do among a few short ones. It's crazy that some of the power companies in the the south are asking people to keep their usage low for heat. Before we move to electric vehicles the infrastructure in this country needs to be upgraded especially if we can't keep warm during storms like this.

Seen a huge pileated woodpecker at the park yesterday, was about as big as a crow. Had no idea they got that big.

The problem's been around for at least the last 50 years. ;)

And if it snows that stretch down south
Won't ever stand the strain

We never got all the snow last night we were supposed to  but we are now. We could get as much as a foot. I'm so happy my wife has Tuesday off.  Those pileated woodpeckers are awesome. I think they are bigger than crows. We see them once in awhile but not that often. They were rare when I was a kid too. It's been really cool to see bald eagles increasing in numbers. They were never around when I was a kid. Neither were wild turkeys. I haven't seen a ruffled grouse in many years. They used to be all over the place.

You know where they are, don't you? They're in Cooter's backyard! WAAAY out *   in the deep country! :)

* ( Luke talked about how Ben Wilkinson lived out in the Boonies, way out.... how far out do you have to be when someone from a little " One-horse hole ",  like Hazzard, thinks you live in the Boonies???  LOL!! :)  )

Haven't measured it yet but we at least got 9-10 inches overnight. I went out to clean the cars off just in case the wife got called into work. If she does I'll have to take her in my car as the plow driver buried her car behind a 18+ inch snow wall.

Yesterday was a long day. Found out the tires on my wife's car aren't worth spit even in a couple of inches of snow, about slid into a mound of snow.

My dad apologized and said he didn't know I wanted the snow blower when I told him last week yes I'll go half on it, call up your brother and tell him we'll take it. Sometimes with my dad it just feels like I'm banging my head on a wall.

Then while shoveling one of my customers driveway their neighbor yells at me accusing me of throwing snow on his sidewalk even though it was the plow that came through before I got there. Since I wasn't packing and I've been warned ahead of time that he's an alcoholic druggie nutjob I just shovelled the three feet length of snow that I supposedly threw on his part of the sidewalk. I've heard some crazy story's about this guy from other neighbors so I figured it's best not to poke the bear. When the wife got home I told her that's why I want to move to the country, I'm sick of dealing with jerks.

Roger bundle up and be careful shoveling, it is really cold out there especially with the wind gusts.

They were talking about this on a financial show today. They have the same problem in the summer when people are running air conditioners a lot. People don't drive a lot in an ice storm but they drive a lot in the summer so are going to be charging their cars a lot.  Proposing changes make folks feel good but they don't mean anything if they can't be implemented practically.

Snowfall total was officially 12.5 inches out of that storm, #3 on the records list. Overnight the temps got down to -7 fahrenheit, windchills into the - teens. Wish there was something I could do for the stray animals that get dumped off here. Local animal shelters are so overwhelmed right now they are not taking any animals in.

So the guy that chewed me out Tuesday had his mailbox taken out by a snow plow yesterday . I'm assuming he's pissed off the plow driver before because his mailbox was the only one on the block that got taken out.

Maintenance guy for the apartment complex went above and beyond yesterday, he dug everyone's vehicles out with the snow blower. That was so cool even after one of our jerk neighbors called corporate to complain because he wasn't here first thing in the morning clearing the sidewalks. It was great when I got home from shoveling snow yesterday and did not have to dig the wife's car out.

We only got about 8 inches. Last night it got down to +7 degrees so we didn't have it quite as bad. Things look pretty bad in Texas. People are looking at a long stretch of no heat or electricity. I'm in my last season of the Vikings series. It's so good!....a little different than Hazzard though. My mom got a covid test today because she's been sick. Both of my parents are in bad enough shape that I'm not sure they could survive it. She feels better today so that's always good.

Yeah it's crazy what's going on in Texas. Some of the ones that have electricity aren't much better off. Apparently electricity can be traded by the kwh like stock there or something and some people's bills shot up to over $8,000 for one day's use. How is that even legal? Find it funny the goober governor tried blaming it on solar and wind power when that only accounts for 10% of generated power there. The natural gas power plants make the majority of Texas power and yet most of them don't have cold weather protection in place to keep the plants running during extreme temperatures. Think it's time people there take a look at who's pockets the texas state legislature is in.

I just finished my Vilkings series.....6 seasons in less than 2 months. It was pretty amazing and kept me wanting more. I wouldn't be surprised if the Duke family had some Viking in them. They are pretty adventurous. The only thing I can remember from the show is they had relatives from England so the Dukes may be more related to HossC than Ragnar Lothbrok.

We were getting ready to leave to get our taxes done this morning when we heard a siren. That's a pretty rare sound around here because we live on a dirt road that gets very few cars. I looked out the window and saw a vehicle flying down the road. A state cop was in hot pursuit, and then a second patrol SUV, then a third patrol SUV. There was a 5 second gap and then a fourth patrol SUV. We watched the local tv news programs and they never mentioned anything so I still don't know what it was but I'll bet that meth was involved. I don't think I've ever witnessed a police hot pursuit before....at least I can't remember. Of course I've been thinking about Hazzard County all day because of it. I'll update you if I found out what happened. I'm a bit happy it wasn't on the news because that means nobody got hurt.

I still haven't heard what it was all about.

My lower back is killing me. I went to the chiropractor yesterday but it hasn't helped. That was my first trip there in two years.

That might be part of the problem! You can't wait that long between visits to get your back aligned. I have to go every few months as a kind of maintenance!

I just watched a 1962 episode of Beverly Hillbillies. It featured Flatt and Scruggs. They visited the mansion and even sung their song at the doorstep. Jethro's mother was there and thought they were going to fight over her because they did 20 years ago but they were both married. I thought of you Hobie because I knew they used to live near you or something. I knew they sang the theme song but never knew they were on an entire episode.
