Depends on who you're fans of. Nascar warned teams at the start of the season that any team caught modifying supplier parts was going to suffer the consequences. PettyGMS Racing was also penalized before the race https://www.jayski.com/2022/07/23/petty-gms-racing-teams-penalized-at-pocono/.

Was an Interesting night in Pocono. Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch were far and away the best cars finishing 1 2, at least until Nascar dq'd them for unapproved modification to the front fascia so Chase Elliot won without leading a single lap https://nascar.nbcsports.com/2022/07/24/chase-elliott-wins-nascar-cup-race-at-pocono-raceway/. This is the first time since the 1960's I think that Nascar disqualified a Cup race winner.

So it seems Tyler Reddick pulled a fast one on Richard Childress. He signed a multi year deal to drive for 23xi starting in 2024 https://www.jayski.com/2022/07/12/23xi-racing-signs-tyler-reddick-for-2024/ . I bet if Richard Childress knew this ahead of time he would not have signed him for a one year extension on his contract a few weeks ago. Rumor is Richard might buy out Tyler's 2023 contract extension. Ty Dillon will not be driving the #42 PettyGMS Racing Chevy in 2023 https://www.jayski.com/2022/ 07/15/ty-dillon-will-not-return-to-petty-gms-racing-in-2023/ .

Roger you'll get a kick out of this Dale jr download podcast they mention Uncle Jessie https://www.dirtymomedia.com/dalejrdownload/episode/266cf363/389-tony-eury-jr-bud-8-and-beyond I don't remember what time it's at but the whole podcast is really good anyways. .... something also mentioned in the podcast is the rumor that Nascar will turn the Xfinity series into a SUV racing series.
  6. It seems movie theater prices fluctuate with whatever movie comes out this year. For instance the Top Gun movie on the imax screen was $9.50 per person for early bird showings, Jurassic World was $9.75, Minions I think was $9.50 and Thor opened with $10.25, for regular matinee time's add about $3-4 depending on the movie. After over a month of waiting I finally picked up my replacement eyeglasses Friday. Hopefully these ones don't get scratched so easily. The lady at the eyeglass place thinks the lab didn't apply the scratch coating correctly on my other pair is why she thinks they had so many tiny scratches within 3 months.

Just before Tyler Reddick scored his first Nascar Cup victory at Road America he signed a contract extension with RCR through 2023 season https://www.jayski.com/2022/07/02/tyler-reddick-will-return-to-richard-childress-racing-in-2023/ Rumor is that was the last Road America Cup race as next year they will most likely be racing in the mean streets of Chicago https://www.jayski.com/2022/07/07/chicago-street-course-looking-likely-for-2023-cup-schedule/ . It's unclear if the driver's and pit crews will be wearing bullet proof vests during practice, qualifying and the race though . Dale Earnhardt jr's Jr Motorsports team might be going Cup racing soon. He and his sister Kelley are looking into possibly buying or leasing a charter for one of their Xfinity driver's https://www.jayski.com/2022/06/29/jr-motorsports-still-eyeing-cup-entry/ . If you don't have cable you won't be watching any Nascar Cup or Xfinity races except for the Indy road course and Daytona race on NBC as the rest of the races till October are on USA and Peacock streaming service. All pre race and post race coverage is only available on Peacock streaming service. On his podcast Dale jr shared some interesting info about NBC's deal with Nascar a few weeks ago about why the Nashville race moved to USA and Peacock from NBC channels. NBC's deal with Nascar is they can move a race to either USA or Peacock from NBC if the race runs over it's allotted time on the NBC or USA schedule. It doesn't matter if there's several laps left or a few laps left he said that NBC/Universal execs said they're programming comes first instead of Nascar's. So there you have it folks, NBC/Universal doesn't give two wooden nickels about Nascar and it's fans. If you enjoy Nascar you better sign up for Peacock premium to watch the races in there entirety this year. Hopefully NBC loses Nascar when Nascar renegotiates the TV rights soon.
  8. It seems this is going to be a summer of weather extremes around here. Had 3 weeks of hot dry weather with just a trace of rainfall. Then Monday we had an inch of rain in 2 hrs and Tuesday morning about 2 inches of rain in 2 hours with some localized areas of nw Ohio getting up to 6 inches of rain. Now they're forecasting another 2-3week dry period with little to no rain.

    SRX Series

Even though it wasn't as hot in South Boston as it was in last week's race at Five Flags Speedway temper's we're flaring and it got physical with cars and driver's. Greg Biffle showed he still can win after passing Marco Andretti for the lead and holding off a hard charging Tony Stewart to win Heat 1. Paul Tracy was leading and looked like he was going to dominate Heat 2 till Helio Castroneves dive-bombed and spun him out of the way and went on to win Heat 2. In the back of the pack things were getting heated between driver's and 'Uncle Tony' had enough and let Ernie Francis Jr know about it. They worked things out before the main feature though. Tony Stewart and Marco Andretti made up the front row for the main feature but it didn't take long for Tony to take the lead and keep it. Paul Tracy got taken out of the race after Ryan Hunter-Reay used his car to keep from wrecking. Michael Waltrip was Ryan Hunter-Reay's next victim after Ryan knocked him out of the way. Michael didn't take it lying down though as he retaliated during the caution before parking his wrecked car. Marco Andretti tried getting second back from Greg Biffle but it didn't work out well and he ended up in last place but came back to finish 8th. Main Feature results 1 - #14 - Tony Stewart 2 - #69 - Greg Biffle 3 - #18 - Bobby Labonte 4 - #39 - Ryan Newman 5 - #06 - Helio Castroneves 6 - #6 - Tony Kanaan 7 - #5 - Ernie Francis Jr. 8 - #98 - Marco Andretti 9 - #1 - Ryan Hunter-Reay 10 - #26 - Peyton Sellers 11 - #15 - Michael Waltrip (DNF) 12 - #3 - Paul Tracy (DNF) Next Saturday night SRX heads to Stafford.

    SRX Series

Season 2 of the SRX series opened in Pensacola with Indycar stars dominating Five Flags Speedway. Local star Bubba Pollard won Heat one. Helio Castroneves won Heat 2 and the Main. SRX CEO Don Hawk made a bet with Helio that if Helio won one SRX race he would do everything he could to get home a ride in next year's Daytona 500. I hope they can get him a good one as it would be neat to see Helio win and become a triple crown champion like Mario and AJ. Main Results 1. Helio Castroneves 2. Bubba Pollard 3. Ryan Newman 4. Tony Kanaan 5. Bobby Labonte 6. Greg Biffle 7. Marco Andretti 8. Ryan Hunter-Reay 9. Bill Elliott 10. Tony Stewart 11. Ernie Francis Jr. 12. Paul Tracy 13. Michael Waltrip
  12. Thats good to hear Skipper. Never heard back from the guy interested in the car. I just want to be done and over with this s. This is why I like animals better than people, they either like you or don't or want to kill/eat you but either way you know what you're dealing with. If you guys didn't catch the SRX race last night you missed a good one.
  13. Was one of those up and down weeks. Started out looking forward to my birthday Wednesday then took a quick turn. Out of the blue this guy calls about buying my car but only offered me $100. I can understand the low offer thanks to my dad's ignorance in parking the car on the dirt behind the garage and it's sunk up to the door sills so he has to dig it out a bit. That of course brought up bad memories/feelings so I was in a sour mood on my birthday. Ended up having a good birthday though. Ended the week on a good note finding out I got another pay raise . Was looking forward to 3 days of relaxing since we haven't had any measurable rain since last Monday so wasn't going to mow any lawns this week but the one lady was adamant her half dead grass and weeds get mowed today so didn't get to any chores at home today. Have a good weekend guys, oh and SRX racing is on Saturday nights at 8pm on CBS stations through the end of July.
