  1. From Miss Alma: Hey y'all! This is Miss Alma, Ben's wife. He fell and broke his hip this morning and is going to have surgery tomorrow. I know the power of Hazzard Nation'sPrayer Warriors..so please put ol' Cooter on your list and let's get him healed up in a hurry! God Bless you all.
  2. I agree about the yellow one as well as the season 1/2 yellow hat- adds that splash of color. Thes season 1/2 was also the most iconic as this was the image you saw if Cooter in the title sequence that lasted the entire series. Ben Jones must agree- the hat you see him in most often now is his yellow 'Cooter's Place' hat!
  3. I'm looking for info/pics, etc on 1977 Dodge Monacos used in the show as something other than a police car. I recall seeing them now and then, but can't recall which episodes. Any help is appreciated! Mark
  4. Official announcement from Cooter's Place FB page: Y’ALL, MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR “COOTER’S LAST STAND”, JULY 29 & 30, 2017 Hey Y’all, This is an announcement of a very special event for Hazzard Nation, and it is an event that will be extra meaningful for Alma and me. On Saturday July 29th and Sunday July 30th of next year, 2017, we will be producing our last “big event”, Hazzard Homecoming 2017, which will be our last festival with the whole Hazzard gang. Hazzard Homecoming 2017 will also be called “Cooter’s Last Stand”, since this show will also mark the end of my almost 60 years “on the road.” As many of you know, a debilitating and progressive spinal condition has greatly restricted my movement and my travel in the last few years. After this event, I plan to “kick back” around our home here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and I’ll have to cut back on concerts and personal appearances. I’ll still make it to our Cooter’s Place stores when I can, and I’ll still get into the recording studio for our musical projects. But we want to go out with a bang, and we want to make this event as special as our “Dukes” fans deserve. We plan to have the whole cast there, and it seems like something magical always happens when we are all in the same place at the same time. There will be personal appearances, great music, the Hazzard Car Show, a stunt show, wrestling, fine Southern cooking, fireworks, a Civil War re-enactment, kid activities, and plenty of surprises. Hazzard Homecoming 2017 will be at Ben Venue Farm here in beautiful Rappahannock County, Virginia. As the date (July 29th and 30th, 2017) gets closer and we get more details, we’ll keep everybody posted! ‪#‎CootersLastStand‬ ‪#‎Cooters‬ ‪#‎DukesofHazzard‬
  5. More detail- moderators, can you delete the previous picture? Cooter's hats v3 by mommydawn2000, on Flickr
  6. Unless you pay close attention, you may think that Cooter always wears the same hat (probably the one in the title sequence). Bo and Luke even chat about Cooter wearing the same old hat in 'Welcome Back Bo and Luke'. But if you DO pay close attention, you'll know that that Cooter wears no less than 9 different caps during the run of the 7 seasons. If you count the two reunion movies, then the total is 11. Most of these hats are/were existing real-world caps. Here is a guide to all of his hats (let me know if I missed any!): Cooter's hats v2 by mommydawn2000, on Flickr
  7. I'm treating these buildings as "real", so ice had to come up with some logical and fun ideas for the rear. However I'm not doing interiors like the garage.
  8. Getting the street around Rhuebottom's painted. I'm trying to get that 'Georgia Clay' look to things without deviating too much from how the Warner Brothers backlot location looked. Untitled by mommydawn2000, on Flickr
  9. The cab is an AMT Crewchief Blazer and the wheels/chassis if from the Revell '77 GMC Wrecker. The rear body and tow rig are scratch built, but I used a couple pieces from the Revell wrecker kit.
  10. I already have trees on the model- one is the big shade tree to the left of the garage.
  11. Roger that is amazing and fun! I've giving a lot of thought to the same concept over the last couple years, but I've been thinking of it more along the lines of how a new series would be constructed. A new series would have to be both a familiar formula and not a rehash at the same time. I like your character ideas- very similar to what I thought would be. I considered the idea of Bo or Luke's kids being girls to add that modern day twist. They could be the kind that drive the boys crazy, but never let them go 'too far' as it were. I liked the idea of certain landmarks being mostly the same as we saw them in the old show- specifically the Boar's Nest and Cooter's Garage. And if you look at the Hazzard Square today (Warner studio backlot), very little has changed. They would of course have to rebuild Cooter's Garage! One idea that is dear to my heart is that Cooter should be the new 'Balladeer'. He would be the perfect narrator, constantly telling stories about the good old days (the old series) and tying those stories to the new situation. After all, he's "seen it all" in Hazzard! And to answer pkoorse's question- I think Huey Hogg could be the new county commissioner!
