The singer appears to be called Memarie, and you were right about the song being 'The Hole in Willie's Guitar' (even though the title says "Wilie's". Sonny just drives a police car (he looks odd in a more modern model) in a chase sequence and still ends up driving into a pond! Thanks for the tip-off, Skipper.
