Besides Boss being gone in #1 1997 and Uncle Jesse being gone in #2 2000. Does other things about 'em make you sad? Yep cousin. I also didn't like that all 3 younger Dukes left Jesse when he was that old. It was clear that the reunion shows were written by professional writers and not fans. I'm not assuming that all the writers of the first 7 years were fans but at least they stayed true to the show and the Duke family traditions.....sure maybe they stayed true because they were told to but at least they did it. I'll never watch a reunion show. I did when they came out but never again. I understand that some fans like them and that's okay. I respect the opinions of others, especially Dukes fans. You might say I'm a fan of every Dukes fan.

I'm serious, Roger your reviews are insightful and HossC could provide the interesting trivia tidbits. Thanks Spike. I do enjoy writing. I have had hundreds of letters to the editor published in 40 years, several of them in national publications. I have also had several quotes on CNN, back when they were still a centrist media organization. I wrote a romantic fiction book 25 years ago but never even tried to get it published. For the past 10 years I have been working on a Lord of the Rings style book. Creating is fun. A blank piece of paper has unlimited possibilities. I don't really have any training in writing though and I realize my stuff is often rough around the edges so if my book ever does get published it will require some heavy duty editing. It still needs another 10 years of work first.
RogerDuke
A Baby for the Dukes.....season 6 The episode starts out with a scene every Dukes fan would have loved to been in. The 4 Dukes are having a picnic out in the country. Bo and Luke are singing "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be Cowboys." Daisy joined in and Jesse's muttered a few lyrics while he was eating chicken. Just as the boys changed the word "cowboys" to "Duke boys", one of those babies they were singing about got dropped off in the General Lee. The baby was named Jamie and the Mama was former Hazzard resident Mary Lou Tomkins. Mary Lou had just got away from two bad guys who had been chasing her, trying to get Jamie. Mary Lou left a note for the Dukes, asking them to take Jamie to their farm until she could get there. She also asked them to keep it a secret. After going back to the farm, Bo and Luke left but were quickly caught by the thugs and managed to get away. While that was going on, Boss was meeting with Rosco and Enos. A truck went by with 18 crashed (and then crushed) Hazzard police cars on it. Boss explained that the county was going broke because of them and gave them horses to ride instead. Emerson Craig then rode into town in his limo. He was a cotton tycoon from Savanah and was looking for Mary Lou and his grandson Jamie and he was offering a $25,000 reward for Jamie's return. He had Mary Lou declared an unfit mother simply because he never liked her since she was a poor country girl when his son Roger married her. Since Roger died, Craig wanted the baby for himself. Boss and Craig went to the Duke farm, where Craig went into one of several rants about how country people are dumb and dirty and his grandson wouldn't be brought up like that. Jesse tried to teach him better by explaining that "some of the richest people I've known in my life never had a dime." Later, the boys took Daisy and Jamie to the old sawmill to hide out. Mary Lou called and talked to Bo but Craig's thugs had the phone line tapped and went to Jensen's Hollow where Bo, Luke and Mary Lou met. They ended up chasing the General Lee but the Dukes and Mary Lou got away. At that point, Craig had insulted small towns and country folks so much that Boss, Rosco and Enos had also turned against him. Boss and Jesse found out that Judge Druton was fishing on Spruce Lake and picked him up. He owed Jesse a favor for getting him out of a bear trap long ago and the Dukes wanted him to sign an order contesting the declaration of Mary Lou being unfit. The thugs and Craig found Daisy and Jamie and one of them threw down a cigar that started a fire. Before you know it, Daisy was standing in a lake trying to save the baby. Luke hopped in a water truck and escorted the General Lee into the fire and saved them both. Emerson Craig was so happy that his grandson was saved he had a complete change of heart. He tore up the paper declaring Mary Lou unfit and apologized to everybody for his behavior. He donated money to the county and Rosco and Enos no longer had to chase cars while on horseback. -- Mary Lou Tomkins was played by James Best's daughter, Janeen Best. -- Boss mentioned Hogganomics, which meant cutting back on government spending. This was a reaction to US President Ronald Reagan's Reaganomics. -- Pretty funny scene when Boss and Rosco had to ride the same horse all the way from the Duke farm to town. Boss sat in front of Rosco but faced backwards so they hugged each other all the way home. -- When the 3 bad guys had Rosco in the car they were secretly following the Dukes and trying to lay low. After they made fun of country folks being dumb Rosco shot at a flying chicken hawk and claimed it had been killing a lot of chickens but he was trying to warn the Dukes.....not so dumb after all! RogerDuke
Too Many Roscos.....season 6 A million dollars from the Atlanta Federal Reserve is due to arrive in Hazzard in an armored truck. Two robbers named Arnie and Kelly have been filming Rosco. Their accomplice, a guy named Woody later studied the film to see how Rosco talks and acts. Woody had plastic surgery done to look exactly like Rosco so the trio could steal the million. Arnie and Kelly interrupted a chase when Rosco was after the Duke boys. After Rosco's car got bumped into Hazzard Lake they took him and held him hostage in their hideout. They introduced him to Woody and Rosco figured out that the 3 were planning on stealing the million. Everybody in town thought that Rosco had drowned. The bad guys find out that everybody in town thinks Rosco is dead so (thanks to Rosco's idea) come up with a plan to say that he hit his head on a rock. Woody then stumbles in to his own wake at Boss and Lulu's house and right away shows memory problems. He calls Flash a boy but Daisy corrects him. Flash doesn't like him because she can sense he is an imposter. As Woody continues to make mistakes he is able to blame it on his head injury. He quickly hides the fact that the hat didn't fit him when Bo returned it from Hazzard Lake. After everybody pressured him, Woody agreed to go to Capitol City to have his head examined but Kelly and Arnie stopped him when the boys were taking him there in the General. The boys found out what the plan was and found out Woody wasn't Rosco and the bad guys tied them up in their hideout. They quickly got loose and let the real Rosco out of the locked closet. The 3 bad guys arrived at the bank just before the armored car and snatched the million dollars and locked everyone in the armored car then drove off. Bo, Luke and Rosco showed up and explained to Boss that there was a fake Rosco but he didn't believe them. With Rosco still in the General, the Dukes took off after the robbers. With help from Daisy, Jesse, Boss and Enos, they caught them when their car also went into Hazzard Lake, prompting Waylon to say "Ya know, them fish in Hazzard Lake have all got battle fatigue." -- It was a bit strange to see James Best listed as a "guest star" on the closing credits. He also played Woody. He really loved the dual role. All actors love to show their versatility. -- You can't help but think of "Ghost of General Lee" when watching this episode. RogerDuke
Brotherly Love.....season 6 A mysterious man in Hazzard is in hot pursuit of another mysterious man. The one being chased is professional boxer Killer Kane and the chaser is Charlie Burns. Charlie is a hit man working for Tex Tompkins. Tex wanted Kane to lose a fight intentionally but instead he knocked the guy out. Tex bet a ton of money on the other guy and now he wants revenge. Killer Kane's real name is Jud and he is Luke's biological brother. The 4 Dukes thought he died in a hospital fire when he was two weeks old but a nurse named Mrs. Nelson took him in and raised him. She never told him the truth until she was on her death bed. After getting away from Charlie, Jud goes to the Duke farm and after some introductions it is clear that he is really Luke's brother. They look alike, they have the same birth mark and coincidently they were both boxers in the military (Jud...Army and Luke...USMC). The Dukes boys and Jud tell Boss and Rosco about the danger but Boss wrongly thinks Jud is a criminal and before you can blink, Charlie is chasing the 3 Dukes in the General Lee and they get away. Jud decides to leave because he feels bad about putting the Dukes in danger while Tex and Charlie lock Boss and Rosco up in the jail. Tex and Charlie then start chasing Luke, thinking he is Jud since he is driving Jud's car. When they shoot the tire out, the car crashes in a fireball. They don't realize Luke jumped out and then conclude that Jud is dead. Luke ends up in the hospital and won't wake up and the bad guys overhear Enos telling Daisy at the Boar's Nest that it was Luke in the accident. They also figure out that Jud would be at the hospital visiting so they go there. While Bo is waking Luke up, Jud is outside getting fresh air and Tex and Charlie grab him at gunpoint. Bo jumped on their roof but couldn't hang on. Moments later, the General, Dixie and Jesse's truck go searching and are later joined by Boss, Rosco and Enos. Despite being dizzy and ordered to stay in bed, Luke convinces his ambulance driving buddy to join the search. Rosco, Boss and Enos crashed and then the ambulance forced the car with Tex, Charlie and Jud in it off the road. It ended up in a deep pond upside down where Bo had to pull off a difficult and impressive rescue to save the lives of the 3. The Dukes got a reward for catching the criminals and gave it to the orphanage. Jud headed off into the sunset to renew his boxing career. RogerDuke
The Boar's Nest Bears.....season 6 Boss has a $10,000 bet, that started out as $5,000, with Boss AC Tate Jr of Chickasaw County. Every year the Hazzard County Pee Wee basketball team plays against the Chickasaw Chiefs Pee Wee team. Chickasaw is pretty good since they end up with more basketball scholarships of any county in the state. Hazzard's coach quit so Boss made Rosco coach but it wasn't going so well. Bo and Luke missed their probation meeting with Boss because of a flash flood and knew they would lose their drivers licenses and orange clunker car. They got the idea of coaching the Bears in exchange for getting a break and Boss agreed but only if they won. They also told Boss that they were bringing in a secret weapon, a 12 year old star named Rodney Moffet, who had just lost his father. Rodney and his mom live in rural Hazzard County but the recent flood had just washed out the bridge to their place and they need to go through Chickasaw County to get to the town of Hazzard. Bo and Luke had to evade Sheriff Big Ed Little to get to the Moffets and when they were there, Tate and his henchman named Ruel showed up but Rodney didn't want to play for either team. Later, Jesse showed up and convinced him to play for the Bears. Basketball camp was at the Duke farm and Boss, Rosco, Tate and Ruel watched from a distance with binoculars. Later that night, Tate and Ruel snuck into the barn where the team was sleeping and told Rodney his mom would lose their house if he played for Hazzard. The next day Bo and Luke convinced him they were lying so Tate went with plan B. They replaced Rodney's real birth certificate with a fake one at the Hazzard Courthouse, making it look like Rodney was 13, past the age of being qualified to play. Just before tip off, Tate demanded proof Rodney was only 12 and when they got the fake certificate he was declared not eligible and was pulled from starting. Bo and Daisy then hopped in the General Lee to get the real certificate in Capitol City while Boss stalled for time as much as he could. Once again Big Ed gave them problems and by the time they returned the Bears were losing 39-50. Rodney then got in and took over on offense and defense. He didn't make the winning shot but he did have the winning assist on a pass. The Bears won 52-50. Jesse announced to the crowd that Boss was donating $10,000 to the new youth sports center so he reluctantly gave away the wad of cash. -- Rodney Moffet was played by Jason Lively, who was in the first ever Dukes episode, One Armed Bandits. He was the kid spitting soda pop on the back window of the General Lee while sitting inside it, prompting Bo to say "I hate kids". The Boar's Nest Bears episode name was probably inspired by the popular movie Bad News Bears.

RogerDuke
Boss Behind Bars....season 6 While Bo and Luke are laying out the Ridge Runner's Old Timer's Race, the Beaudry's (Pa, Milo and Sledge) come back from the hills of Tennessee and run the General Lee off the road. The Duke boys catch them and a little tussle breaks out but Pa Beaudry stops it and makes his boys apologize. He doesn't want any trouble since all he is interested in is stealing Boss's moonshine still because Milo blew up theirs. Boss and Jesse are favorites in the 4 car race and folks are betting heavily on it. One farmer even bet a pig. At the Boar's Nest before the race Boss sneaks out and looks under Jesse's hood to make sure he hasn't made any illegal engine alterations. Enos sees Boss and the 3 Beaudry's are hiding nearby and watch the 2 go back in the building. Pa Beaudry thought of a plan. He had Sledge slide under Jesse's car and remove a nut and cotter pin from the steering. In the middle of the race the steering went out and Jesse's car flipped on the roof but thankfully he was okay. After Boss won everybody went to the crash sight where Pa slipped the parts into Boss's pocket to set him up. After nut and pin slipped out onto the ground and Enos mentioned seeing Boss working on Jesse's car, Rosco arrested his little fat buddy and threw Boss Behind Bars. The Beaudry's then stole Boss's still and headed back to the hills but not before Bo and Luke saw what they were doing. Pa shot their radiator out while the General was flying in the air. Jesse hadn't been convinced that Boss was guilty and Bo and Luke found out that he was right and then Boss figured out that the Beaudry's framed him. Moments later, Boss breaks out of jail and steals a patrol car while still in his prisoner uniform. Rosco and Enos go after him. After locating the still Luke blows it up and then Jesse and Daisy show up. While Pa and Sledge showed to put out the still fire Daisy went over and distracted Milo while he was pumping water from the well. He admitted the crime of framing Boss and before you know it the 4 Dukes and 3 Beaudry's were in a big brawl. The Beaudry's then took off in their pick-up truck but the Dukes forced them into their own revenuer trap, a pit. Back in town Boss hugged Daisy and shook the other Duke's hands as Rosco was putting a no parking sign in place. Boss told him to ticket them. In other words, everything was back to normal. -- When in jail Boss declared "I was framed. Now I know how them Dukes feel." -- When Pa shot the radiator out it looked like he was duck hunting because the General was flying through the air. Waylon said "I don't care where you're from. That is a sight that you just don't see very often." -- Those Beaudrys are definitely my favorite bad guys. Cousin Roger Duke yep! Bring on more episodes. RogerDuke
A Boy's Best Friend......season 6 Husband and wife dognap team, BB and Mandy Jo just stole a valuable Bassett hound from BB's old boss John J. Hooper. The dog's name is Maxine and they are demanding a $25,000 ransom from Hooper and his wife. While Rosco had their van pulled over Maxine jumped out the back. Meanwhile, at the Hazzard Orphanage, a 6 year old boy was in a deep depression because both of his parents just died. His name was Terry Lee and when Bo and Luke visited him it reminded them of what it was like to lose their parents. They wanted to cheer him up so they went to Mr. Winkle at the dog pound where business was slow and he was in danger of losing his pension. He did have one dog and it happened to be Maxine, who had just been brought in. Winkle fibbed about how long she had been there and the Duke boys scraped together a ten dollar donation and then gave the Flash look-a-like to Terry Lee and his depression was cured on the spot. Rosco had radiator problems out in the country and when he took his pail to fetch some water, BB and Mandy Jo stole Flash, thinking it was Maxine and after they drove away they realized it's not. Boss finds out Hooper has a $10,000 reward for his pooch and took her from the orphanage when Terry Lee wasn't looking. BB and Mandy Jo are listening in on the CB and figure out Boss has Maxine. Boss secured Maxine in a jail cell and called Hooper and later, Bo and Luke stopped him and his wife on their way into Hazzard and explained everything that was going on. Mandy Jo then went into the jail and pretended that a lost Bassett was out there running around loose and when Rosco and Enos left, thinking it was Flash, she and BB switched the dogs, putting Flash in the cell and driving off with Maxine. When the Hooper's got to the jail they knew immediately that it wasn't their dog. The Duke boys went looking for the Maxine but blew a hole in their radiator and borrowed two dirt bikes which they used to jump on the roof of the dognapper's recently stolen car. They ran them off the road and then the dog thieves went to jail. Rosco was united with Flash after being inconsolable for the entire ordeal. Bo and Luke took Maxine back to the orphanage where the Hooper's were visiting Terry Lee. They agreed to let Terry Lee keep Maxine and the ending got even happier when Waylon said "Come Christmas, the Hooper's got their dog back. Of course they had to adopt Terry Lee to do it." RogerDuke
Targets: Daisy and Lulu......season 6 Boss gave Lulu a 25th anniversary gift of a shopping trip to New Orleans and she took Daisy with her. While waiting for Bo and Luke to pick them up at the airport on the return trip, Lulu got someone's suitcase mixed up with hers. It contained the valuable Osborne diamond necklace that was just stolen seconds ago. A big time criminal, Mr. Lipton was holding the suitcase that his 2 thugs just grabbed and since 2 police just happened to come around, Lipton didn't want to make a scene so let Lulu take it. On the way back to Hazzard the General Lee was shot at with Lulu, the 3 Dukes and the $250,000 necklace in it. The General got away and while unloading at Boss's house, the boys found the necklace when the suitcase was dropped and popped open. They showed it to Boss and Rosco and then Lulu and Daisy figured out it must be from the mixed up look-a-like suitcase incident. Lipton's goons tore apart the Duke farm looking for it and then went to Boss's house, where Bo and Luke had to rescue Lulu and Daisy from them. On the CB the goons then threated to get Lulu and Daisy later if they didn't get the necklace. Boss's cousin Big Dan Hogg from Rapaho County bought the necklace from Boss for a tenth of its value. After Boss realized Lulu and Daisy's lives were in danger he went with Rosco and the Duke boys to retrieve it but had to give Dan an extra 5 grand. When returning the necklace, Bo and Luke tricked Lipton's boys and Enos threw them in jail. They used their one phone call to let Lipton and his right hand man Wilbur know what was going on. Wilbur then called Daisy and pretended to be the police. He convinced her to bring Lulu to identify one of the necklace robbery suspects. She believed him so they left in Dixie and on the way there Lipton and Wilbur tried to run them off the road but Bo, Luke and Jesse saved them in the General Lee and Rosco and Boss then showed up. Later, Boss and Rosco dressed up like Lulu and Daisy. The real Lulu and Daisy got on the CB and announced they were going to a sale at the Hazzard Emporium. Their plan to draw out Lipton and Wilbur succeeded. When they got there they took Boss and Rosco hostage and drove off with the boys and the General in pursuit and Enos in the back seat. Boss and Rosco ended up jumping out of the moving car and got a ride in the General and the 5 caught the other 2 bad guys. The Dukes joined the Hoggs at Boss and Lulu's house for a party celebrating the Hogg's 25th anniversary. RogerDuke
Twin Trouble.....season 6 Luke was driving through Capitol City on the way back from Atlanta from a reunion with his old USMC buddies. He had Jesse's pick-up truck and an attractive lady named Sandy came through. She was driving crazy because she had just stolen $100,000 in gems from a jewelry store. He caught up with her and when he bent down to pick up the purse she dropped she slammed her car door against his head and got away. To give her an alibi and a witness, her twin sister Cindy pretended to have a broken down car. As Duke luck would have it, Bo just happened to be coming home from buying tractor parts in Greenville and stopped to help her. She went out of her way to point out that the time was 11:00. Bo and Cindy then went to Hazzard and she called Sandy to see how things went. Bo, Luke and Cindy then went to the farm and Luke explained to Bo that she had just hit him in the head outside of Capitol City. Bo argued because he was with her at 11:00 so couldn't have done it. Back in town, Boss is disgusted that Rosco and Enos are wrecking too many cars so gives them 3-wheelers instead. They drive around town creating havoc trying to get used to them. Enos likes them but Rosco hates them. Luke called Sheriff Floyd of Hatchapee and told him the robbery suspect was in Hazzard. Bo was so mad at him they almost got in a fight. Floyd called Rosco and he then got on a 3-wheeler and Boss got on the other. They caught Bo and Cindy in the General and took her into custody. Boss offered to buy the jewels but she denied having them so Boss let her go in hopes of following her to where they might be. When Boss and Rosco started following her, Luke started following them in Jesse's truck. Sandy then met with a guy named Cash Calloway who was planning on buying the jewels. Cindy showed up at the hideaway and then Luke. He caught them and was shocked to see that it was twins. It was time for another head hit. Calloway knocked Luke out from behind. They threw Luke in the truck and went to roll him off a cliff before he woke up but Bo saved him and Luke revealed that Cindy had a twin and that's how it seemed like they were in 2 places at once. Daisy, Jesse, Boss and Rosco were all in Dixie and they caught Calloway. Bo and Luke caught the twins. The episode ends with Rosco and Enos involved in a fender bender just seconds after Boss gave them their repaired patrol cars back.
