HossC Posted February 3, 2011 Author Report Posted February 3, 2011 The current question in 'The Official Dukes of Hazzard Trivia Thread' is from 'Follow That Still', so I thought I'd recreate Boss Hogg's 'War Memorial' sign. It's a strange shape, and shows Boss to be modest to a fault : Quote
TRPColtrane95 Posted February 11, 2011 Report Posted February 11, 2011 wow that nice! nice work, HossC.. Quote
HossC Posted February 16, 2011 Author Report Posted February 16, 2011 Nice one Tim. I've had that one nearly finished myself for some time, but was looking for the right picture of Rosco. Did you crop it from a screengrab of the sign?. Quote
TimSherry01 Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Yup took the screen cap and fixed it up!!! Over the summer i had James Best sign it along with my police car.He was like (Now wait a minute I jumped through that sign well not really but how the heck did you do that.) He was cracking me up and he told me I made his day. Quote
TRPColtrane95 Posted February 18, 2011 Report Posted February 18, 2011 very nice, I love this one.. lol.. Quote
HossC Posted February 18, 2011 Author Report Posted February 18, 2011 No prizes for guessing which episode this one is from . I'll have to assume that the originals were all hand done because there are small variations between the ones used. The poster also uses several different typefaces, none of which seem to match typefaces I have, so I had to do them all from scratch!. There is even a significant difference between letters in the same block. Compare the 'N' in ACTION with the 'N' in DANGER for example. I've tried to reproduce all these details as accurately as possible. The only 'cheat' was the picture of Diane at the top which was tweaked from a screengrab. The following picture was on top of the poster in Boss's office when he thought he'd be acquiring the stunt show. This one is just a screengrab with the background painted out. I thought I'd include it because I'd never noticed the little cartoon Boss: Quote
TimSherry01 Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 That Carnival poster is awesome!!!!!!!!!! I always wanted to do it but I coud never get a good enough Image of it. Looks Great!!!! Quote
MaryAnne Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Nice work on the Carnival of Thrills poster Hoss! TimSherry - loved the Rosco poster/bulletin board! We got some right talented folks around here! Quote
HossC Posted April 1, 2011 Author Report Posted April 1, 2011 It's the 1st of April, so Happy Sadie Hogg Day y'all. Here's my version of a sign from that episode (S04E07). Quote
RogerDuke Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Nice job Hoss! Do you folks have April Fools Day over there? Quote
HossC Posted April 2, 2011 Author Report Posted April 2, 2011 Do you folks have April Fools Day over there?Yes we do, although none of this year's hoaxes stand out. Apparently the story about our banks needing €24bn wasn't a joke . Quote
ldhenson Posted April 14, 2011 Report Posted April 14, 2011 These are great, HossC and TimSherry01! Thanks for sharing them.I really like the extra touches like recreating the entire church sign, and that Boss Hogg portrait looks like a ton of work. Quote
HossC Posted April 22, 2011 Author Report Posted April 22, 2011 From 'Hazzard Connection' here's the sign for Augie Detweiller's Demolition Derby:Here's how it appeared in the show: Quote
RogerDuke Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 Nice job Hoss. I haven't been to a demolition derby in years. That sounds like something I might want to do this summer. Quote
HossC Posted August 6, 2011 Author Report Posted August 6, 2011 It's been a while since I added to this thread, so here's the sign from the truck in 'Route 7-11'. Quote
RogerDuke Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Stop trying to trick us with your sign Hoss. We know what you're really doing in the back of that truck. Quote
HossC Posted September 19, 2011 Author Report Posted September 19, 2011 These signs are from the hijacked trucks in 'Road Pirates'. The globe on the 'Southern Express Co.' sign is deliberately not symmetrical because that's how it appeared in the show. Quote
Brian Coltrane Posted September 20, 2011 Report Posted September 20, 2011 As always, you got a great eye for details, Hoss. Nice work!Have you ever tried any of the Hogg product logos? There were "Hoggoco" gasoline pumps at Cooter's in at least one episode. Also, Boss came up with oddball products once in awhile, but I can't remember if I saw sample products in any eps. Quote

I'll have to do a larger version for this thread. As for JD's other products, I'll look into doing some of them. Quote
knightprowl Posted September 22, 2011 Report Posted September 22, 2011 sounds cool hoss, that will be some of the signs i requested down and out, cant wait till ya finish all those things of mine i requested, anyways keep me and everyone else posted, anyways ttyl peace Quote
HossC Posted September 30, 2011 Author Report Posted September 30, 2011 Here's a couple of signs from near the start of 'Return of the Ridge Raiders' in season 2.These were not such politically correct times. I wonder how long a poster like this would last today. I originally started this one ages ago, but couldn't find fonts that looked anything like these. In the end I did the whole lot from scratch. I wish they hadn't hand-drawn most of the signage on Dukes - it would make my job a lot easier . Quote
Brian Coltrane Posted October 1, 2011 Report Posted October 1, 2011 I can't wait to use these on the HazzardNet homepage in the near future. Excellent job Hoss! Quote
