July 10, 200917 yr Daisy shook her head looking very worried. "No he's nowhere in the house I looked everywhere...Where could he be Luke?!"
July 11, 200917 yr Luke shook his head. "I dunno...I just.." His thoughts drifted back to the conversation earlier. "Oh no..he went home...Bo went home..."
July 11, 200917 yr "oh no....Luke we should tell Mr. and Mrs. Davenport" Daisy said as she looked at Luke very worried for their baby cousin out all alone walking home.
July 11, 200917 yr "Right...." said Luke already running to their bedroom door. "Mr. Davenport...Mrs. Davenport!"
July 11, 200917 yr Daisy ran in behind Luke to Mr. and Mrs. Davenport's bedroom, Mrs. Davenport sat up in bed the second she heard Luke at the door. "What's the matter Luke are you kids alright?"..."Bo's gone home!" Daisy piped up from behind Luke. "Oh my" Mrs. Davenport exclaimed hearing the news as she woke her husband to go after the youngest Duke child.
July 16, 200917 yr Author Bo however was practically already home. Taking a short cut through the woods, tears already slipping down the youngest child's face, he soon arrived on the dusty yard of the Duke Farm. Things were already eerily quiet, none of the chickens were out for him to chase....everything already seemed very different...very wrong. Sniffing, he headed to the front door, taking a puff of his inhaler he always kept on him before knocking on the door with his little hand.
July 16, 200917 yr Jesse went to the door having been phoned by the Davenports to expect Bo. Opening it he said softly, "Bo...son what're you doing home?"Luke held onto Daisy's hand meanwhile, not sure if the Davenports would go ahead and take them home or not, but hoping so...he didn't want to be here any longer.
July 16, 200917 yr Seeing the way Luke was holding onto Daisy and she him the Davenports decided it was probably best to take them along with them that home was probably best for them at the moment at least until things could be settled with Bo. Pulling into the Duke driveway a short time later Mr. Davenport got out of the car and took Daisy who had fallen asleep in the car in his arms and carried her to the door. Mrs. Davenport followed holding Luke's hand knocking on the front door.
July 16, 200917 yr Jesse had no sooner picked up a crying Bo in his arms and walked to the kitchen trying to hush him when he seen the Davenports pulling up through the kitchen window. "It seems the whole family's gonna be here after all. " He didn't really mind...in truth it helped take care of the horrible emptiness in his heart.Luke never was one to wait. Letting go of Mrs. Davenpor's hand he rushed in hugging his uncle tight, big tears rolling down hs face.
July 16, 200917 yr Author Bo didn't look down, still crying into his Uncle's shoulder, wishing it was his auntie's as his whole little body shook and shuddered with the sobs being torn from his throat.
July 16, 200917 yr Jesse bent down, holding his boys close and drawing Daisy into the family hug too, tears trickling down into his beard.
July 17, 200917 yr Daisy put her little arms around her cousins and uncle holding onto them tears of her own spilling down her cheeks.
July 20, 200917 yr Author Bo quivered softly as his sobs died down to hiccups tiredly, the emotions draining the small boy tremendously, especially since he had just run a long way.
July 20, 200917 yr Jesse sniffed. "She ain't in pain no more...she's gone t' be with yer folks..." he added his voice choked as he said so.Luke's tears came faster a he said that. He clung to Jesse tighter but said not a word.
July 20, 200917 yr Hearing the words they'd all three feared hearing the most, Daisy buried her head in Jesse a little more muffling her sobs.
July 30, 200917 yr Author "But...we...didn't get...t'say...g'bye..." Little Bo hiccuped out heartbrokenly before starting to sob childishly again.
July 31, 200917 yr Jesse sighed sadly. "I know that son..but your aunt...wanted ya to remember her when she was well...not...not these final days..."Luke was shaking hard in his uncle's hold, tears pouring down his cheeks.
July 31, 200917 yr Little Daisy was no better than her two cousins she was a mess crying her little heart out as she clung tightly to the family she had left, wondering how anything would ever be good again.
