Hobie Hartkins Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Have you ever read his book Roger? Quote
RogerDuke Posted August 30 Author Posted August 30 Happy 84th birthday Crazy Cooter. The show couldn't have existed without you. After all, nobody else could tow the General Lee into his garage at 1:00 and rebuild the engine, straighten the frame, replace the hood and both front fenders and have it rolling before 5:00....and then take donuts and beer as payment. Webb Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Am I missing something? Or do you mean Ben as a person vs his character. Quote

When actors make political statements it is best to ignore them. I do get it though. Hobie is not happy with Ben's politics. I respect that. There are actors I have boycotted because of their views on political and social issues but the actors on Dukes of Hazzard are the one exception I'll make. Unless they commit a serious crime, like harming a child, I am just going to ignore their personal life and not let it ruin my love of Hazzard County. Quote

Thanks for letting me know I didn’t know about this. I respect everyone’s opinion as well. If I see actors/singers post political statements I usually try and not let it bother me because it ruins it if you look too much into it when you’re favorite singer or actor is not who you thought they were. I'm guessing Sonny Shroyer is a lot like Enos....only much smarter. (Of course Enos was pretty smart when he a cop in Los Angeles.) But I'm sure Sonny is a true Southern gentleman. Cooter Davenport is a great guy! It's his kind that made the south great! I ignore Ben Jones existence, however! If you can read his book and not have a problem with him, I strongly question your American/southern values! Edited Sunday at 01:03 AM by Hobie Hartkins Webb 1 Quote

I assume they're talking about 'Redneck Boy in the Promised Land: The Confessions of "Crazy Cooter"'. It came out in 2008. Hobie Hartkins and Webb 1 1 Quote

Webb Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I did find the book online. I purchased a copy not sure when it will arrive yet. Quote
