Daisy sighed and began to do the dishes that lay waiting in the sink. Truth was, she was very behind on her chores, having spent so much time with her uncle.

She was worried about both her cousins. Bo never did function well on his own, and now it seemed to her that Bo was kidding himself about how he was feeling...a trick he must have copied from Luke. She quickly finished the dishes and followed Bo out, determined to not let him get away with it.

Bo was already deep in sorting the animals out for the day, muttering things to himself like what needed to be brought, what needed to be mended and working out some calculations. He never really enjoyed those things but it was keeping his mind busy and right now that was what he needed.

"Bo?" began Daisy looking in at him from the barn door. "Honey...can I talk to you?"

Bo glances up as he shifted some feed bags, nodding a little

"S'long as you dont mind me workin while I do..."

"No...I'll help ya," she answered going to the pile of feed and lifting a bag. "You doin' ok?" she asked quietly.

"Course...and you shouldn't be liftin those Daisy, if you wanna help could you go feed the animals?"

He answered shortly, quickly changing the subject.

Daisy sighed but started feeding the animals. "Ya aint alright Bo...anyone with an eye can see that..." she said softly.

Bo sighed and took a deep breath before saying.

"Right now, what I feel aint important."

Daisy stopped what she was doing, hurrying to him and taking him by the shoulders and shakes her head. "Of course it's important Bo!"

Bo shrugged her hands off, shaking his head.

"Daisy look...dont do that okay. I aint gonna go off like Luke I promise...just right now I need to think clear and figure out what i'm gonna do with Luke and about Uncle Jesse...I aint got time to sit and cry and scream curses at the sky okay..."

"Then let me help you Bo...please..." pleaded Daisy. "You can't do everything on your own..."

"Daisy if there's something you can do then i'll ask ya if you can do it...but you do got your own things to worry about as well alright."

Bo reasoned gently, knowing she was as worried as he was.

"An' you're one of them!" insisted Daisy, tears coming to her eyes. "Bo don't shut yourself off...just cause Luke does it don't make it right!"

"Its eaisier to deal with everything else. What good is it gonna do if I just sit there and cry and moan and shout things huh? Someone needs to take charge and I'm sorry but in order to do that, I Have to have some degree of control over myself..."

Bo countered back, not in the mood for being argued with.

Daisy's lip quivered but she said nothing, going about feeding the animals, scratching Maudine behind her long ears as she passed.

Bo sighed and shook his head as he kept working, he just couldn't deal with her too right now...he needed to talk to Jesse...

Daisy soon finished feeding the animals, and went inside to start fixing some lunch, angry tears falling down her cheeks.

Bo watched her go, biting his lip and shaking his head slightly. Things were bad enough without Daisy being mad at him too, but there were just things he needed to do right now and to do them he needed to be as focused as possible.

Daisy sniffed. All her years at the farm, she had never once felt like an orphan, or an only child. Now though, with everything happening so sudden, she felt more scared and alone than ever before.

A couple of hours later and all the chores were done and Bo had gotten cleaned up with a refreshing shower and some coffee to wake him up some more. Pulling his boots on again, he called out.

"Daisy you gonna come see Uncle Jesse or you gonna stay here?"

"Should...should someone stay with Luke?" she asked. She really didn't know just how bad things had gotten with him. Had he just been thinking of stepping off? Did he have one foot over? She knew he certainly didn't look well now.

Bo sighed and stood up with his boots on, shrugging on a jacket as it had gotten a little colder outside.

"Well...those sleeping pills are strong enough t'knock out a horse so he shouldn't be wakin' up till tomorrow...but...I know he shouldn't be on his own at all while he's awake..."

Daisy bit her lip. "I'll come...if you think he'll be ok..." She looked towards his room with a sigh. "Should we call a doc for him tomorrow?"

"I'm gonna see what Uncle Jesse thinks....might be that...he needs...needs to be admitted..."

Bo said quietly, hating to do it but having thought about it while he was working. There was no way he and Daisy could watch him 24/7...

"What? Bo...no! NO! It's Luke yer talkin about!! He'll pull through this! He's been in funks before...you know how he can be!" exclaimed Daisy tears shining in her eyes.
