Meadowmufn
Now Amos Moses was a Cajun,He lived by hisse'f in the swamp. He hunted alligators for a livin',He just knocked 'em in the head with a stump. The Louisiana law gonna get ya AmosIt ain't legal hunting alligators down in the swamp, boyNow everybody blames his old man,For makin' him mean as a snake,When Amos Moses was a boyHis daddy would use him for alligator bait.Tie a rope around his neck, and throw him in the swamp,Alligator bait in a Louisiana bayouAbout 45 minutes southeast of Thibodeaux, LouisianaLived a man named Doc Milsap and his pretty wife HannaWell, they raised up a son that could eat up his weight in groceries,Named him after a man of the cloth,Called him Amos MosesNow, all the folks around south LouisianaSaid Amos was a hell of a manHe could trap the biggest, the meanest alligatorAnd just use one handThat's all he got left cause da alligator bit itLeft arm gone clean up to the elbowWell the sheriff caught wind that AmosWas in the swamp trappin' alligator skinSo he snuck in the swamp, gonna get da boy,But he never come out again.Well, I wonder where the Louisiana sheriff went to?You can sure get lost in da Louisiana bayou!About 45 minutes southeast of Thibodeaux, LouisianaLived a cat called Doc Milsap and his pretty wife HannaWell, they raised a son who could eat up his weight in groceries,Named him after a man of the cloth,Called him Amos MosesSit down on 'im, AmosMake it count, son!About 45 minutes southeast of Thibodeaux, Louisiana.... MaximRecoil
I love that song. I have been listening to that song [again] in my truck lately too (on the same Jerry Reed CD that I have had for about 7 years now) and I have been meaning to look up the lyrics. Quite a coincidence to see this thread. I have been thinking that they should work it into the new DOH movie. That song sounds awesome when cranked through a high voltage stereo system BTW.
