Luke looked at him ruefully. "Cute Bo...real real cue."

Bo smiled, leaning against the fence post again and looking back over the farm again.

Luke did the same smiling as he did, looking off in the distance to where their old treehouse stood. "You reckon that ol' treehouse could still hold us?"

Bo snorted, shaking his head.

"It could barely hold us when we were younger..."

Luke smiled. "It served the purpose though," he said a smile on his face. "We sure had some good times there..."

Bo grinned, looking to him.

"Gave us a great advantage point over Hughie with my water balloons huh?"

Luke grinned. "He never did appreciate the wet look none, did he?" he asked, his blue eyes twinkling with fun.

"That's just because he never could pull it off like we could....he still can't..."

Bo said with a grin.

"Heck Hughie Hogg can't pull off a dry look either...he's still as ugly as a possum's fanny," said Luke "Course....I should't be so mean t the poor possum," he added.

Bo laughed, shaking his head...he didn't mind Hughie so much, he liked to annoy the little Hogg and embarass him, it was one of his most favourite past-times. But there was a deep rivalry between Luke and Hughie, almost as deep as he one between Luke and Ernie Leadbetter...

Luke shook his head a little. It was too nice a day to spoil it thinking about Hughie Hogg.

Bo chuckled a little, shaking his head.

"You remember that time you really went after him...I mean REALLY REALLY went after him..."

Luke smiled though his eyes held a flash of anger, only for a moment. "I warned him...he shoulda listened....

"Get lost Hughie...go back to the pen ya belong in..." said eleven year old Luke.

[BoJamesDuke]

"Awww what's the matter Lukas Doofus...you all in a tantrum because you aint gettin' yer own way again...or is it because that dump you live in has finally fallen down cause the termites ran away..."

Eleven year old Hughie Hogg taunted back as he walked along behind Luke with a big grin on his face.

"Shut up Hughie," warned Luke the tips of his ears turning red.

[BoJamesDuke]

"Nu uh, cause you can't get yer own way an' if you try an' make me i'm gonna tell my Uncle who can kick ya outta your home so fast it wont be there when you get home from school one day...but that's the story of yer life ain't it...jus' like yer parents..."

Hughie said in a sing song voice.

Luke spun around quick before Hughie had time to blink his fists clenched, Hughie having hit a nerve. "Don't you talk about my parents!"

Hughie only smirked back at him in that annoying fashion that years later he would perfect to hit even more irritating heights.

"Awww is ickle Lukie gonna cwy?"

"Nah I ain't," answered Luke sullenly. "But you will if ya talk bout my folks again."

Hughie rolled his eyes, shaking his head.

"Aw get over it ya big cry baby. S'not like ya really knew em anyhow. I think its just cause you like the attention."

"I did know em... " began Luke shaking visibly in anger.

"NAh you didn't, you just think ya did. No one can remember stuff properly when yer that small..."

Hughie said in a matter of fact tone.

"I was 6 years old when they was killed Hughie, not 6 months!" a tear dripping from his eye before he could stop it.

"Aww look at the baby cry.."

Hughie mocked in delight, having gotten the thing he wanted to see most out of Luke.

"An watch the hogg squeal," returned Luke before tackling Hughie to the ground hitting him over and over again. "DON'T YOU EVER TALK BOUT MY FOLKS AGAIN HUGHIE HOGG, YOU HEAR ME?! NOT EVER!!!"
