Bo swallowed hard as he looked out over the hospital grounds before glancing back at where Troy sat, frowning a little.

"Wh...what makes you say that Troy..."

Big tears fell from Troy's eyes as he wiped them away shamefully. "Mama said that...that Daddy left cuz of me.. that..that he didn't want me...an...an I guess it's true...cuz I never saw him."

Jesse sighed hard. "Your mama said that?"

Bo shook his head and looked down at the floor...more than anything he had wanted Diane...he never even knew that she had been carrying a child.

Troy didn't notice Bo's face. He just continued talking stroking his bear affectionately. "She said...he didn't like kids...an' that...that woth me bein there...he wouldn't come back....but I always hoped he would...I thought maybe...if I was good enough...he'd come back...." Realization made him choke back tears. "Guess he won't come now....I slapped one of the nurses today."

Bo looked up at the cieling...it was true he didn't love kids...in fact some of them could be downright annoying and boy when they got to teenagers did they get moody...but Diane had made him to be some kind of uncaring monster in Troy's mind, even if he didn't know that Bo was his father.

In a way he supposed he was sort of behaving that way, with what he had been saying before....the thing was, it was more the shock of maybe being forced into this responsible life of a parent than have a choice whether or not he entered it or not...

Jesse frowned taking his little hand. "Now...now...slappin a nurse wasn't nice...but your daddy ain't stayin' away cuz you're bad."

Bo looked over to Jesse, watching him and Troy.

"But Mama said so.... Mama said that...if it weren't for me...he woulda stayed..." insisted Troy not thinking for a minute that his mama had lied. "S'my fault he lefted her...I tried to tell her...I was sorry..."

Jesse sighed softly rubbing the youngsters back looking at Bo.

Bo swallowed and started to step forward, shaking his head and saying softly.

"Troy...that...that ain't true...I know fer a fact...that ain't true...your daddy didn't even know about ya..."

"But Mama said so...she sad...it was...she...she..." sniffed Troy trying to tell what she had said and feeling more and more worn out from the emotions that were overtaking him.

Bo sighed and shook his head, swallowing hard as he crossed over to Troy.

"Troy...I...I know this because...I...I'm your dad Troy.."

Troy stared at him wide eyed as if he had seen a ghost.

Bo sighed and sat down in the chair by the bed.

"Troy...I didn't know anything about you...I'm really sorry..."

Jesse watched them silently.

"You...you're...my...daddy?" asked Troy.

Bo nodded softly.

"Yeah Troy...yeah I am...and believe me I never knew about you...I didn't know you were my son until this mornin'..."

Troy started to cry hunching up on the bed covering his eyes with George. Now, not only did he have a daddy that wanted nothing to do with him, but since Bo was his daddy, that meant he lost Bo too.

Bo swallowed hard and looked to Jesse, not knowing what to do. This was why he stayed away from kids, he wasn't good with them.

Jesse looked at Bo and understood what he was feeling. "Son...he's feeling unloved...unwanted...what do ya wish someone woulda done...when you felt like that...and do it to him....that's all."

Bo swallowed hard for what felt like the hundreth time, looking back to Troy before taking a breath and gently reaching over, picking him up into his arms and holding him close.

Troy clung to him. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry..."

"You ain't got nothin' to be sorry for Troy...the reason I didn't come for ya was because I didn't even know ya existed! Your mom never told me..."

"But she said...you hated me...." whimpered Troy. "Do you hate me?"

"No! Troy no! Course I don't hate ya..."

Bo whispered, rubbing his back.

Troy whimpered and hugged him.

Bo hugged him back, feeling the little boy's head rest on his shoulder. Bo bit his lip and looked to Jesse.
