Luke swallowed hard shaking his head. "That can't happen...it can't."

"Well that all depends on Bo doesn't it...I mean...he's the father, he's gotta take care of the little guy..."

Luke swallowed hard not knowing what Bo was gonna say to this.

"Listen I gotta get back to work, but i'm gonna see you tomorrow for your first home check up...okay?"

"Okay Jenni," said Luke sofly his mind elsewhere.

"Alright, you take care...bye.."

"You too," said Luke softly as he hung up the phone. "Dang it!" He yelled. he knew that Bo would not take this well.

Jaime, who was busy settling down to do her work in her bedroom when she jumped as Luke cursed. Frowning she stood up and went to his room

"You ok Daddy?"

"Fine," he answered hating the way his daughter could say such hurtful things one minute and show deep concern the next. It was being hypocritical...a trait he detested...especially when he thought himself such a big one.

Jaime swallowed at his tone, sighing.

"Daddy...just because we argue doesn't mean I don't care...I jsut...its something I've been hearing people saying...well I heard it today so it's like...at the forefront of my mind...I'm sorry..."

"Who said it?!" Luke demanded.

Jaime sighed, shrugging a little.

"Terence Leadbetter..."

"Ernie's son?"

Jaime shrugged, leaning on the doorway.

"Think so..."

A small smile crept across her face though as she looked down at the floor.

"He regretted it though..."

Luke swallowed. "What'd ya do?"

Jaime looked to him, biting her lip with a small smile still playing at the corners of her mouth.

"Well...he was hitting on me and I told him where to go...and he started on how easy I must be seeing as you an' Uncle Bo...yadda yadda yadda...so I said come round to the back of the bleachers and see how easy I am...well he did...and I..kinda...broke his nose and...hit him in a very tender place..."

"He said that bout you?!" his face turning red in anger. "He had no right!" Luke was angry but he couldn't help feeling a little pride at how Jaime had handled herself.

Jaime sighed and went to sit next to Luke, shaking her head.

"Daddy...I know it don't mean anythin'...I don't care what he says about me, everyone knows it ain't true...no one listens to Terence anyhow...he's just as full of hot air as his daddy is..."

"I care...if he's sayin stuff about you...cuz of MY reputation!" continued Luke angrily.

Jaime sighed and smiled a little.

"Daddy...I can fight my own battles...please, don't get so upset...Ernie's reputation ain't so great either...I think I secured the point that Terence is just as wimpy as his daddy is...and that Leadbetter's can't beat Dukes..."

"Still weren't right."

"Hey...it gave me a whole lot of satisfaction hearing the bridge of his nose break under my fist..."

Jaime said with a proper, cheeky smile

Luke smiled in spite of himself. "That's my girl."

Jaime giggled a little and nodded, sitting up properly on the bed - being careful of Luke's leg - crossing her legs.

"So when's yer date with Jenni...."

"Haven't made one...but I got a therapy session tomorrow," said Luke softly.
