Jesse watched his oldest out the corner of his eye, pleased to see that Luke was starting to feel the effects of the painkillers.

"You better rest up some more...you look wore out..."

"I guess...mentally anyway...she takes a lot out o me..."

Jesse nodded in understanding, sympathetic.

"Parenthood is a challenge even when they're only little babies...taking one on as a teenager is harder...I warned you it wouldn't all be plain sailing..."

"I know you did," said Luke softly.

Sighing, Jesse softly rubbed Luke's arm.

"Your doin' a fine job with her Luke.."

Luke swallowed lookng at his uncle. "I don't know what I'm doin....I never felt so...so...stupid."

"Now now Luke...you ain't stupid...you're just a little outta your depth that's all.." Jesse gently chided. "You can't be good at somethin' without practise..you an' Jaime just gotta work with each other..."

Luke sighed. He was hard on himself he supposed, but it seemed to come so easy for Jesse at the time.

Jesse smiled a little, knowing how Luke liked to get everything right without even trying...he had had to in the marines...

"Now...get some rest son..."

"Yes sir," answered Luke softly.

Jesse smiled and kissed his forehead softly, about to stand up when Bo stumbled through the door, obviously deeply troubled by something.

Luke looked up upon hearing Bo. "You ok?!"

Bo sank down onto his bed and looked over at Luke and Jesse, shaking his head a little.

Luke pushed himself up so that he was supported against his headboard and looked worriedly at Bo. It was clear something was wrong...very wrong. But his eyes didn't have the anger/guilt look of being chased by Rosco, the General was running fine, and though Luke's foot wasn't up to par, Bo knew that it was just a temporary thing, so he couldn't be troubled about that. Knowing Bo like he didthat left just one option. "Troy?"

Bo nodded again gently, looking back down at the floor as he shook his head, not saying a word as - just when he had been in the room with Troy before - he didn't know what to say.

Jesse frowned and looked to Luke.

"Troy who?"

"He's a little boy at the hospital," explained Luke. "What happened?"

Jesse nodded a little, still not understanding but figuring he would come to once they boys had talked.

Bo sighed and shook his head, running a hand through his hair before looking to Luke.

"I;m way too deep into this thing Luke...first he asked me if he was gonna die...then he asked me if I would adopt him...course I didn't know what the hell..."

Bo winced at the look Jesse gave him, mumbling an apology before continuing.

"Didn't know what to say....I had to promise him i'd come back tomorrow afternoon to see him to get him to go to sleep!"

Luke nodded slowly. "Sounds like he took a likin to ya...an'...sounds like the feelin's mutual," he added softly.

Bo sighed

"I like him Luke...but...I can't adopt him..."

Luke nodded. "He's jsut a little boy Bo...he don't understand what he asked of ya."

"No but what am I supposed to tell him?! That I don't want him?! After his mum left him an' he ain't had no dad because that guy ran off too..."

Bo shook his head, putting it in his hands.

Luke swallowed and reached to take Bo's hand. "Tell him the truth."

"I can't Luke! I can't tell him the truth because he'll run off again! I don't want him to keep getting sicker!"

Bo exclaimed, getting more and more upset.

Luke swallowed hard. "Calm down Bo..."

Bo stood up and paced over to the window, leaning on the window ledge with his head hung, having no idea what on earth to do.
