The doctor smiled then left Luke to calm down some, while Bo continued to stay with Jesse.

Luke laid back against his pillows with a long sigh looking at his crushed foot. He couldn't blame the mule, she didn't know no better. Still, he was worried beyond comfort.

Bo glanced up at the time and frowned, thinking the doctors should have been done with Luke by now.

"Hey Uncle Jesse...maybe we should get back to Luke...I know he's real worried about this..."

Jesse nodded in agreement. "Yeah. I bet he is.. let's go."

Luke let out a long sigh and stared up at the ceiling.

Bo nodded and led the way back to Luke's room, glad that obviously his Uncle hadn't been told about the actions he had taken against the doctor who had treated him.

Jesse followed him. "And another thing... you ain't gonna be no help to Luke if you attack doctors like a mad man. Now I don't care what your reason was, should he be Luke's treating physician you could have put him in considerable danger should he choose to get back atcha."

Bo's jaw practically fell open as Jesse spoke to him....how was it that at the last minute Jesse could pull something out of the hat that the boys had thought they had gotten away with...it was like he had a radar that could tell what the boys were trying to get away with.

"I'm sorry Uncle Jesse...I just...snapped....he was telling me Luke needed a psychological evaluation...tried to get me to admit I was in a violent family relationship with him and basically said that denying it was the first sign...He wouldn't listen to a dang word I was saying..."

"Well...I understand how that would rile ya...but just the same ya hafta get control of that temper. Luke needs you....more n likely he's gonna need t see ya after the surgery...you gettin kicked outta the hospital or arrested for assault ain't gonna help him any."

Bo sighed and nodded, running a hand down his face.

"Yeah I know it..."

Jesse turned to look at his youngest. "So...watch yer tongue...and yer fists" he said before opening the door to Luke's room. " There he is...there's my boy."

Luke looked up at him. "Hey."

Bo sighed and took a deep breath before letting it out and heading into the room, following Uncle Jesse with a smile.

Jesse rubbed Luke's arm. "How ya feelin boy?"

Luke sighed glancing from him to Bo. "Ready t' go home."

Bo nodded gently, smiling softly as he put his good hand on Luke's shoulder.

"I know how ya feel..."

"Wish they'd just do it and be done...they had t' take blood work...I hate that..."

Bo frowned.

"Blood work? What did they wanna do bloodwork for?"

"Said cuz I'm allergic to anesthesia...." said Luke trying not to sound concerned.

"Least they realized that... least they's takin precautions..." said Jesse refusing to see the down side.

"I spose," answered Luke softly.

Bo nodded.

"And also, if they find out what you allergic to, then they can make sure that its on your records and you never have to have those kind of bad reactions again..."

"Well...that'd be a gain,"returned Luke.

"You bet your britches it would...save me a few more white hairs too," said Jesse with a smile.

Bo nodded, sitting on the bed beside Luke, careful of his foot.

"Course it is...they are trying to make you better here Luke..."

"I know," answered Luke simply, staring at his foot. "Just the farm...and Jaime..."

"Now you stop your frettin... everythin's gonna be fine...just fine," interrupted Jesse.

Bo nodded

"Uncle Jesse's right...like I said I can pick up the slack till your better an you know Cooter'll help out...plus Jaime ain't gonna be too worried by a broken foot...more'n likely she'll wanna know your alright an' then'll be helpin' take care of ya.."

Luke sighed nodding trying to console himself with the fact theworst would be over soon.

Bo sighed and gently squeezed Luke's shoulder.

"C'mon brother...it could be worse..."

Luke nodded. "I know...I'm sorry."

Jesse patted his good knee.

Bo sighed and nodded.

"I'll be right here when you get out..."
