Luke swallowed. "Maybe she can get help...or somethin..but you don't deserve what she done to you Jaime...you don't!"

Jaime looked to him, she was so confused....all she had ever known was her mother and father...her father had been a wonderful man who had tried to do right by everyone until one day she woke up and he just wasn't there anymore. Her mom never spoke of him again and it wasn't until her powers developed when she was 11 that her Mom had started putting her under the stairs, telling her it was for the best...that she was a danger...that she was doing it for Jaime's own saftey...for everyone's saftey....

Luke swallowed. "Trust me."

Jaime bit her bottom lip, looking down at the few berries that remained in her hand, poking them about with her finger. She wanted to trust Luke...she did...but there was something that wouldn't let her let go of the feeling that her mother loved her...she just couldn't shake that....after repeating the same mantra under the stairs for so many years, she had no choice but to believe it...but now she was being given a choice....something that was strange and unfamiliar to her...

"Well think about it... at least promise me that much," pleaded Luke.

Jaime nodded gently after a moment, she would think about it...because now she had been thrown into doubt and she needed to be sure where she was going.

"Thank you" said Luke touching her cheek.

Jaime jerked back from the touch, not used to that kind of touch without it being before a slap.

"Jaime..." began Luke taking his hand away. "I wont hurt you darlin...I won't..." He hated the way Jaime looked just then like a beaten puppy.

Jaime swallowed and nodded slowly before nodding a little bit harder, tears coming to her eyes.

"I know...I know you won't..I'm...I'm sorry..."

"But people have before...your mother has...." said Luke taking his turn reading Jaime's mind.

Jaime swallowed, looking away as she nodded.

"They won't any more Jaime.." promised Luke.

Jaime swallowed, not knowing what to answer to that, so she moved onto the most important topic of conversation.

"Have you thought a way to get Bo out..."

Luke shook his head. "Sure ain't."

Jaime nodded and started thinking, remembering everything that she had seen of the place where Bo was held. She started to smile a little as she thought of a plan.

"I think I know a way..."

Luke looked at her. "What's your idea?"

"Well...the place where he's at is surrounded by woodland....if we got to town which ain't far from here, we could put in a call to the state police and have them come over...then, if you go and let yourself be captured by the men, then the State Police have enough evidence to arrest them...once your inside, I'll start making noises on the outside to lure them out and away from you and the State Police can capture them..."

Jaime said softly, looking to Luke

"Sounds like a great plan...on one condition...you keep away from em....you stay where it's safe...you got that?"

Jaime nodded softly.

"Sure..."

"Alright" answered Luke. "I think we best get a move on..."

Jaime nodded and stood up, heading down the treehouse ladder.

Luke followed her down, his mind racing with thoughts for Bo and Jaime.

Jaime waited for him at the bottom, knowing the way into town but needing to wait for Luke.

Finally Luke reached the bottom. "Lead the way."
