Jaime looked up at him and nodded gently, crawling out of his lap.

"I know a place we can hide..."

Luke smiled. " I think I'm gonna have to get used to watching what I think around you..."

Jaime sighed and shook her head.

"No you don't...I can only hear you if I concentrate on you and what your thinking. I won't do it no more unless you ask me to."

He smiled at her. "So where is this place?"

Jaime stood up, brushing herself off and wiping her wet cheeks before heading in one direction.

"C'mon, i'll show you. Can you walk on yer own?"

"I'm alright, Jaime...you lead..I'll follow."

Jaime nodded and lead Luke the way she knew, keeping her mind open for any hints that the other guys where there. If they were thinking things, which they would be, she would be able to sense them before Luke did.

Luke followed slowly after her, partially from being weak still, partially from keeping an eye out around them.

Eventually, Jaime had led him to a small treehouse that was well built and sturdy.

"My daddy helped me build it...mommy don't know about it.."

Luke nodded and followed Jaime into the treehouse. He was worried about Bo, but right now he was more worried for Jaime. "Jaime...the chains that were there...were they..." He couldn't say the word "yours" but he thought it.

Jaime sniffed softly as she sat on the floor and nodded softly.

"Yeah...they were mine..."

Luke's eyes blazed with anger. "Why would someone do that to you...specially your mother!"

Jaime looked down to the floor, pulling her sleeves more over her scarred wrists.

"She's scared of me...of what I can do....she thinks if people find out...they'll exploit me and...hurt me...She was doing what she thought was best..."

Luke shook his head. "Maybe she wanted to keep you to herself...what are you hiding there?" He gently took her hands pushing up her sleves.

Jaime first tried to pull her hands away, but Luke kept a firm but gentle grip on them and rolled up her sleeves. She swallowed and looked away.

Luke swallowed staring wide eyed at the scars. "From the chains?"

Jaime nodded a little, not being able to look at Luke.

Luke pulled her close hugging her gently. "S'alright darlin...it ain't gonna happen no more...I promise ya that."

Jaime pulled away and looked to him, shaking her head.

"How can you promise that..."

Luke looked at her. "Cause I ain't gonna let you go back there..."

Jaime swallowed, frowning.

"But...then....I got no where to go...I can't trust anyone but you an' my mom..."

"You can't trust your mom Jaime..." he said rubbing her scarred wrists. "She done proved that."

Jaime pulled her wrists back and hugged them to her, shaking her head.

"No...Mom did it because she loves me...she's trying to protect me from everyone else....they wouldn't understand...they'd wanna run tests on me..."

Luke swallowed. "Sweetheart, if she loved you, why would she hurt you like that? I don't care what excuses you give it abuse is abuse and that's what she did."

Jaime's bottom lip wobbled and she shook her head, shaking a little.

"Mom loves me..."
