As soon as she shut her door, she went under her bed and retrieved the backpack she always took with her whenever she snuk out. She opened her bedroom window and climbed onto the windowsill, shutting it behind her, before shimmying down the drainpipe and running across the back garden, knowing her mother was in the living room calling the Doc. She reached the back fence and jumped straight over it, before running off in the direction she had found Luke.
