I'm not sure if Sanford and Son was ever shown in the UK, although I've watched a couple of episodes online (including 'The Piano Movers' which featured Rick Hurst as a police officer). It's quite different to the original UK show Steptoe and Son on which it's based. One obvious difference is that Steptoe and Son had a horse and cart rather than a pickup truck. Here's a 5-minute documentary about the original.

Pretty cool Hoss. I saw it before. It even explains how some of the American version Sanford and Son plots came from this version.

I love this Sanford and Son scene when Redd Foxx (Fred Sanford) went to Las Vegas. He lost all his money. He said "Stupid crap table! Dumb roulette wheel!"
