September 30, 200520 yr has anyone else seen the new r/c general lee on ebay they have one with the dixie horn and it is full function you can steer it, all the lights work and it plays the dixie horn three times and it just started coming out?does anyone know if you could buy them at walmart, kbtoys, etc?
October 1, 200520 yr Found it on ebay. Looks like a custom-made job...that ain't even done yet. Seller says it'll be done by end of October or early November? Seller is also a newer ebay member, doin' business since Feb 2005. It looks interestin', but it ain't an "offical" product. Don't expect a warranty. Would be fun to have though, wouldn't it?Auction ends in 6 days. October 2, 200520 yr Oh, that one! Now that's an official ERTL product, and as such, outta be hitting the major retail stores for Christmas. I haven't noticed it in stores yet, but then again, I haven't done a toy aisle cruise in at least...oh, two weeks. I'm gonna see if I can find this. I want one! Brian
October 2, 200520 yr Oh yeah, one of those. Yup, I've got one. There 35 bucks and I got mine at Walmart last week. My baby brother has been driving his mother crazy with Dixie, hahaha. She is like yelling at me, blaming me for getting him hooked. tehe. I wouldn't get mine on ebay...a lot more $$.
October 2, 200520 yr Author do you know when my walmart might have some in stock cause i got back a couple hrs ago and i looked and they didn't have any?
October 2, 200520 yr Umm. I think (not possitive) they get shipments on Wednesdays. I'd try next Friday maybe?? I'm in North Carolina and they just got them in I think (but then again I haven't been in a toy isle for oh at least 2 weeks). Sorry, not much help *shrugs*
October 3, 200520 yr All you guys are talking about spending your money on toys. Well, not me. That money is being saved for the real thing. Yup. I'll be driving the real General some day, hopefully before I die.
October 3, 200520 yr Author my moms buying it for me and i'm saving money to get a real one to got a lot saved towards the real thing thats for sure. YEEHAW!
October 23, 200520 yr I have to admit, I found this toy at Walmart, I bought it for myself, and I'm having a lot of fun with it. The car itself doesn't have a dixie horn, but there's a seperate little gadget that you can press a button on, to get it. The car itself handles better and goes faster than I expected for the price. (Around thirty-five bucks.) A cute touch, is the little orange parking lamps in the front of the car actually work. So do the taillights when it's in reverse. I have looked for the RC General Lee at other stores, but I have only found it at Walmart so far. So if you see one - you might want to buy it when you have the chance!Brian
October 23, 200520 yr Author I'm definitely getting this i have too i'm probably gonna get it off eBay and buy it there cause i find a lot of 'em there.YEEHAW!
October 26, 200520 yr Cool! How fast does it go? Have you jumped over anything yet, hint hint? When is it going to be released in the UK?
October 26, 200520 yr goes about 10-15 mph jump over my friend's rc Cop Car at the rc speedway near my house and I ant got the slightest clue when it'll be in the uk unless ya got Ebay
November 7, 200520 yr I don't think it's ever going to be here. I see a few on eBay UK but they're like 39 pounds! It sounds really cool though. Anyone have a spare one?
November 13, 200520 yr EJD I'm in the UK as are you I run an R/C car club and an R/C General Lee is music to my ears, I know it's not really for racing , but it looks a great scale model!£39 isn't so bad, it's $49.95 in dollars at some online shops , that's our usual conversion, sometimes the same in UK pounds sterling as in US dollars. We have a store called 'Asda' which was bought up by Walmart, I wonder if they'll be stocking it - it would be nice !!I still want to build a General Lee that goes fast and will jump and survive to jump again, I have a large Charger shell and replica secal set, but I don't have a car with a wheelbase to match - The darn things so long I know really it should be real wheel drive, possibly prop driven (most cars are all-wheel drive at the moment)I really hope it comes to the UK, we do have ebay and that's another option !! I love it, I love it Good News Good News
November 17, 200520 yr Yeah, eBay's great! I got both of the Monster Truck Madness games off there for about 5 quid! Intresting theory about ASDA though, maybe I'll check it out. And about your Charger body, you can find lots of RC cars on http://www.hpiracing.co.uk or good 'ol eBay!
November 21, 200520 yr That's the body I have, the HPI one, cost's about £25 alone , it comes with a chunk of an engine sticking out of the bonnet, but there is an extra piece to 'blank' it over.I think it'll go on a Tamiya car with a chassis extention, I don't want it on a silly monster truck, only thing is I don't think there are many wheels that match the real General. That's where the toy ones beat true models, attention to detail !
November 24, 200520 yr Perhaps you haven't heard about the new "Remote Control" General Lee car? It's even out here in Australia and my friend and I bought one each. They're VERY cool and worth getting, even just to display! Xmas is coming ya'll!
