Skipper Duke
Did y'all know they made tires of the vehicles slippery burn and smoke by putting Clorox on them? RogerDuke
RogerDuke
I didn't know that but I'm not surprised. That trick is older than the show. Skipper Duke

According to www.nhra.com, bleach was first used for burnouts at an NHRA event in the summer of '69 (cue Bryan Adams!). That's 10 years before Dukes started. I think I remember discussing how they achieved smoky burnouts on the show with Tom Sarmento, but I just checked, and it was almost nine years ago that I met him!
