As Vicki was drifting back into a light sleep, Coy & Vance walked inside the hospital room. Vicki barely opens one eye just to see who walked inside her room. Smiling slightly after recognizing her two old friends, Vicki shuts her eyes, pretending to be asleep, but she is really awake, listening to Coy's & Vance's conversation. "Vance, I'm worried about Vicki. I don't want her to die on me," said Coy worriedly. "I know, cousin. I know that you're worried about her, but she'll pull through this," said Vance as he glances over at the sleeping redhead. "Vance, she's my best friend. We do practically everything together," said Coy as he sat down in a chair close to Vicki's bed. "Bo told me exactly the same thing last night, Coy. He told me that he doesn't want to lose her," said Vance. "Vance, Bo has already lost her when he went back to racing a few months ago. Vicki told me that it broke her heart in two when Bo told her what he was going to do when they got back from vacation," said Coy, looking at Vicki sleeping then added, "Last weekend when I visited her in Chickasaw-well, she arrested me for reckless driving and threw me in jail..." Vance laughed. "Yeah, Vicki was on patrol for Sheriff LIttle then. Go ahead, cousin." "Well, anyway, Vicki told me last weekend that she was thinking about moving back to Oklahoma to help her sister run her horse ranch. She wanted to think long & hard about her relationship with Bo, and about ours since we started going out together." "But y'all are only going out as friends, right Coy?" asked Vance, rolling his eyes at his cousin. "Yeah, I'm only keeping her company until her & Bo work out their differences," said Coy as he grabbed a hold of Vicki's cold hand. "Cousin, I wouldn't worry about Vicki. She'll pull through this. She's a Duke," said Vance, getting up out of the chair to stretch his long legs. "I know she is a Duke, but sometimes I wish the timing would have worked out different for us. I still have strong feelings for her," said Coy. "Cousin, you'll get through this, just like Vicki will," said Vance, looking worriedly at Vicki then added, "Bo told me last night that he wanted to work things out with her so they can get back together." Coy laughed. "Only because it was his fault to start with. If it does work out between them, I hope that it won't jeapordize my relationship with Vicki." "Coy, don't worry about it. Everything will work out," said Vance smiling as Vicki began to stir slightly. "Darlin...please wake up for me," said Coy as he gently started rubbing Vicki's cold, lifeless hand.

Howdy y'all! I just thought to tell y'all that I added a Disclaimer (Thanks MaryAnne for all your help )to the beginning of the story, and I made some changes to my last post as well. BALLADEER: "It doesn't look too good for Bo & Luke does it?? Let see what is going on with Vicki while she is asleep... 8) Moving around in her drug-induced sleep, Vicki moaned softly as she shifted on the hospital bed. While dreaming... "Darlin...wake up for me, sugar..." said a soft deep voice. Vicki's blue-gray eyes popped open after recognizing the voice more clearly. "Coy...what are you doing here?" Coy smiled at the redhead. "I had to come see you, darlin. I'm sorry that I had you chase us yesterday." Vicki yawned as she try to shift slightly in bed. "That is all right. I am so tired." "I know that you are darlin. You lost a baby yesterday," said Coy as he helped Vicki adjust her pillows. "Baby..." thought Vicki to herself then added as she looked Coy directly in the eyes, "So that was what my mom was going to tell me out of an earshot of Hughie before I fell asleep into this nightmare. That means that I did have a miscarriage. If Bo knows, he has to be devastated." "Coy, I had a miscarriage..." said Vicki as the tears start to fall down her face. "Darlin, it will be all right. We're going to help you get through this," said Coy as he gave Vicki a tissue. "Coy, tell me who is going to help me through this. I can't go through this by myself." "Darlin...I'm going to help you through this. After all, we have been best friends for a long time, before you & Bo even started dating," said Coy, smiling at Vicki. "Coy, that's right. We were quite a pair back in the past. You even visit me in Chickasaw nearly every weekend now, since Bo is racing again," said Vicki, sighing loudly. "That's right, darlin. But the question is will it work out between you and Bo," said Coy, as he looked outside the window. "I don't know, Coy. But you did make me realize something," said Vicki, getting up off the bed slowly and walked over to Coy. "What Darlin?" asked Coy, looking into the redhead's eyes. "That love hurts to much," said Vicki, wincing in pain as she gives Coy a gentle, but friendly hug. "That's for sure, darlin," said Coy as he carried Vicki back over to the bed. Vicki falls back on the bed unconscious... ******** Just then Vicki's blue-gray eyes popped open as she heard Coy's & Vance's voices outside in the hall, knowing that everyone will help her through this...

Meanwhile, outside the hospital room, the Dukes were talking about the redhead. "I can't believe what happened to Vicki. She shouldn't have ended up like that," said Coy as he sat down in a chair in the waiting room, which was close to Vicki's room. "I know what you mean, cousin," said Vance, shaking his head then added, "She should be chasing us right now instead of in this hospital right now." "She is a sweet girl. She is so rebellious & brave. She was always helping us out of jams all the time," said Coy. "She is also pretty and fun to be around, don't forget that, cousin," said Vance as he was getting up out of the chair then added, "Let's go see if Vicki is awake to talk." *********** "Hold it! You're not going anywhere until I have a chat with you!" said Hughie angrily as he blocked Bo's way to the front door of the hospital. "Get out of my way, Hughie. I came here to talk to Vicki, not you! You little roach!" said Bo angrily as he & Luke started heading towards the front door of the hospital. "She doesn't want to see you, Bo! Stay away from her!" said Hughie angrily then added as he waved at Roger & Torey, his goons, "You've caused enough trouble!" "Oh, boy. This doesn't look good, Luke," said Bo worriedly as Roger & Torey were heading towards them...

**Y'all, you probably think that I'm crazy (my character Vicki is in this story), but I'm going to add a little spice to this story.** ********* BALLADEER: Y'all tell me if this is a bad dream. Hughie Hogg getting married?? Meanwhile, at a seculded hideout near Mountain Creek Lake in northern Chickasaw County, Hughie Hogg was pacing back-n-forth waiting for Vicki & her goons to show back up. "Where the heck is my bride to be? She should have been back by now," thought Hughie, holding his hands behind his back as he paced in front of the rustic, but newer cabin. "I have everything set up... I've picked up the ring...I've picked up her dress from the alterations shop...and the precher is here. Where is she??" Going inside the cabin, Hughie picked up the phone in the living room and started dialing a number, but he then smiled when he notices a red corvette pulling up outside... "What has Hughie been doing this time?" asked Vicki as she stepped out of the corvette, looking around the rustic cabin in awe. Before Roger could answer her, Hughie stepped in front of him, placing his arm around the redhead. "Waiting for my bride-to-be to show up. I can't wait another day to be without you, Princess. I want to marry you right now." "What did you just say, cowboy? You want to marry me right here?" asked Vicki, swaying slightly in shock as Hughie held her then added, "I thought that you wanted to have a small family wedding here this weekend." "I did, sugar. But I thought we could speed things up a bit. When we go to Hazzard tomorrow to visit, I want you to go there with me as my wife," said Hughie as he reached into his pocket, and got out a jeweler's box. Looking at her engagement ring, (which was a 1/2 carat princess solatire with platium band) Vicki smiled again. "You know, the happiest I have ever been in the last year was with you, Hughie." "The same here, Princess. Even when you were at the mental institution from having a nervous breakdown courtesy of the Dukes, I was there helping you get better." "So you're wanting to do this just to make me feel better?" asked Vicki, pulling away from Hughie. "No, sweet princess. I'm doing this because I love you more than anything, and my love can't live without you another day. I love you, Vicki," said Hughie sincerely pulling Vicki back into his arms. Vicki just stared back at Hughie, as the tears of happiness falls down her face. "What's wrong, princess?" asked Hughie, brushing a tear away from Vicki's eyes then added, "Why are you crying?" "Hughie, I'm not sad, I'm happy," said Vicki, ignoring her tears as she kissed Hughie hungrily on the mouth then added, "And I'm falling in love with you more every day." "Princess, don't worry about us ever. We'll always be happy together running Chickasaw County, and later Hazzard County for our enjoyment," said Hughie, picking Vicki up off the ground, and swing her around in his arms. ********* SEVERAL HOURS LATER Walking outside the cabin, Vicki nearly floats down the stairs in a daze, but somehow, she makes it to her NEW husband's gray truck. On the back windshield in white letters, a sign says "JUST MARRIED" Opening the truck door without waking up her new husband, after checking her wrist watch, Vicki dials a number into the car phone. Lulu Hogg answers the phone on the 3rd ring. "Hello." "Hi, Lulu. Guess who this is?" said Vicki with a slight giggle in her voice. "Well, hello, young lady. How are you and Hughie doing in Chickasaw?" asked Lulu. Vicki giggled loudly. "I know that my mom is still there playing cards with you & Boss. Why don't you just put her on, and she can tell you in a few minutes." "Okay," said Lulu into the phone then added to Mary, "It's for you." After a few minutes, Mary puts the phone back in its cradle. "I don't believe it...but I have to be happy for her. I always thought in the past that Bo was perfect for her, but this is a shocker," said Mary in shock. "What's wrong, honey," asked Dick as he picked a card up off the deck. "What is it, Mary? Did something happened to Vicki?" asked Lulu. "WHAT! Lulu, why was you talking to her? She's with that low-down varmit Hughie right now!" said Boss angrily. "And Vicki just married him in Chickasaw County!" said Mary in shock. "HOLY HANNAH! I HAVE TO CALL ROSCO AND TELL HIM THE SHOCKING NEWS!" said Boss as he rushes to the phone... BALLADEER: Y'all, I can't believe it. What a shocking event! What's going to happen now in Hazzard?? CUE: WHOEVER WANTS TO ADD AND HAVE FUN! Hughie Hogg married?? YAY!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! "DRAT! Those bombs just barely missed them! That old farmer threw the bomb boxes into the pond! I'll have to find another way of getting even with them!" said Jasper angrily to himself as he gets back into his car, which was parked on top of a hill overlooking the farm. Looking around in his stolen car, he then smiles as his hand fell across a large rock. Smiling, he then uses his slingshot and takes careful aim towards the young people below him. When he saw his target, which was Vicki, he snickered loudly as he let go of the rock. "Night, night. Sleeping Beauty. Pleasant Dreams..." He then took off fast in his sedan towards Hazzard Swamp. As the explosions occured, Bo, Luke, Daisy, and Vicki try to shield themselves from any falling debris. As Vicki looked up after the final explosion, a large rock was heading straight towards her...

Hazzard is a peaceful community. I wouldn't live anywhere else. Everyone has been very helpful to me since I moved to Hazzard back in January. Unless I have to move out for any reason. Just Kidding, y'all! As for my new character Joy, she is also not a Hazzard County resident until she buys that farm that Boss Hogg has for sale. Hi, Y'all! I hope that your day is going well! Sorry I haven't been on regularly. I'm now just back to writing on a part-time basis. Y'all bear with me as I get my current fiesty character Vicki under control. But that's a good laugh, y'all! ******** Here is my newest character: NAME: Joy Lynn Kelly OCCUPATION: Hazzard County's newest Veternarian. She will be eventually working on farm animals to help pay her mortgage on her new farm to Boss Hogg. She is also a professional barrel racer when not out taking care of animals. CURRENT RESIDENCE (character hasn't moved to Hazzard yet): Sapulpa, Oklahoma Another Oklahoma girl, but this girl isn't as fiesty as a certain redhead! DATE OF BIRTH: July 31, 1953 HEIGHT: 5'3 WEIGHT: 140 HAIR: jet-black EYES: Grey CAR: Currently driving a White Ford Bronco with maroon stripes. CB HANDLE: Barrel Racer or Vet Lady JoLynne's favorite music is Country Music, although you can hear an occasional rock-n-roll tune every once in a while. Just then, Vicki stirred from her restless sleep. "Oh..." moaned Vicki as she tried to shift in her bed. "Honey? Are you with us?" asked Mary worriedly, rubbing on Vicki's arm. "Princess, It's Hughie. Wake up for me sweetie," said Hughie as he was lightly giving the redhead a kiss on the cheek, trying to wake his best friend up. "Hughie? I didn't know you were here," yawning Vicki as she opened her tired eyes, then staring into Hughie's royal blue ones. "Princess, I had to come see you. I've been so worried about you. Are you feeling any better?" asked Hughie, as he was gently caressing Vicki's hand. "No...It feels like my lower stomach is being pumped out...why do I have this container half full of blood attached to where my stitches are?" asked Vicki moaning bitterly. "Honey, I don't know if you want to know the answer. It will break your heart. Bo was completely devastated when Doc Applebey told him," said Mary, giving her daughter a gentle hug. "Yeah, sugar. I'm still furious at what Bo did to you, even when y'all were separated at the time," said Hughie with slight anger in his voice then added, "I can't believe that he did that to you a couple of months ago right after you came back from your working vacation." Closing her eyes to hide a tear, remembering what happened a couple of months ago right before Bo left her to go back out on the NASCAR circuit, Vicki said in a sad voice, mixed with anger "Tell me what it is. I have to know!" "Hughie, I know that you are Vicki's best friend & co-worker, but I have to ask you to step outside the door so I can tell my daughter what happened to her in the last few days," said Mary as she shooed Hughie towards the door. "That's all right. Remembering what happened is rattling my head a little. I need to get some coffee anyway," said Hughie as he walked out the door then added towards Vicki, "Sugar, I'll be back in a minute so we can talk." "Bye Hughie," said Vicki waving slightly at Hughie then added to her mother, "So are you going to tell me what happened to me?" ********************** AUTHOR NOTE: Sorry for delays, y'all. This is not a typical Dukes story, but it has potential to be one in the future. Parts of this story is true, (I really did have a miscarriage in August 2000 & a second one in March 2001) and it is hard for me to write out all my feelings to y'all. So y'all bear with me. "Daisy, do me a favor and call Rosco & Jesse on the CB. We're going to need help into finding the crook that did this. Plus, we need to get that bomb checked out," said Luke worriedly. "Sure, Luke. I'll be right back!" said Daisy as she headed towards the front of the barn. "Well, this is CERTAINLY a nice way of coming back from vacation!" said Vicki angrily as she knelt down in the hay beside Bo and started pulling at the knot in the blindfold & gag. "Little Red, just calm down. We'll get him untied without letting the bomb go off," said Luke as he was on his knees, trying to pull at the knots on the ropes bounding Bo. "Yeah, right! I'm going to clobber whoever did this to him," said Vicki angrily as she tore away the handkerchief around Bo's eyes. It took Bo a couple of seconds to adjust to the blinding sunlight, but then he stared directly into Vicki's furious eyes. Vicki then pulled the gag down with a furious, but gentle pull. Calming down slightly, she added to Bo, "Are you all right?" "Yeah, thanks..." said Bo, taking a deep breath of air then added in a dry voice, "You wouldn't have any water on you?" "No, but we'll get some as soon as you're free," said Vicki, smiling at Bo then added as she reached into her pocket, "Luke, since your knife is a little dull, do you think that Bo's knife will work?" "Yeah, Little Red. It will work just fine. Bo's knife is a lot sharper than my knife," said Luke as the redhead handed him the knife. A few minutes later, Bo's hands were free. "Thanks, Luke. That does feel better. Even though I can't feel my hands," said Bo, moving his numbed hands in front of him so he could rub the feeling back into them. "You're welcome, cousin," said Luke, who was now kneeling in front of Bo, cutting through the ropes around his ankles. After a few moments, Bo was completely free. Vicki & Luke then helped Bo stand up. Bo was having trouble standing due to inactivity in his legs from sitting in that cramped pisition for the last couple of hours. So he used Vicki for support just until he stopped swaying. "Let's get away from that bomb box!" said Bo excitedly as he, Luke, & Vicki were walking towards the front of the barn. "We're with you, cousin!" said Luke as he & Vicki helped Bo towards the door. Just then, outside in the distance, an explosion occured... BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

A FEW MINUTES EARLIER... Roger drove the corvette slowly across the Chickasaw County line towards the driveway of the Baxter farm. "Someone has been here recently. That is a nice looking fence someone put up," said Vicki as she eyed the fence. "And I bet it was expensive too. See all that electric wires all around the top of the fence?" asked Torey, eyeing the fence down. "Weren't you & Hughie here last week?" asked Roger as he slowed the convertible down. "Yeah, Hughie & I came up here to check things out before we started our new scheme, and this fancy fence wasn't here. Hughie & I don't have enough money right now to pay for a fence this expensive," said Vicki, brushing her red hair back. "Isn't this your dad's property that you & Hughie were talking about?" asked Torey. "Yeah. My dad paid Miles Baxter for this land 5 years ago. I can't believe that someone could trespass on our land. My dad told me that I could borrow his cabin anytime I wanted to," said Vicki angrily eyeing down the silver sportscar in front of them as Roger pulls the convertible to a stop as Max walked over to them. ******** "I don't know who you are, but y'all need to leave. This is private property," said Max. "You probably don't know who I am, but I know who you are. You're Max Davenport aren't you?" asked Vicki sarcastically. "Yeah, how did you know that? You still need to get off my land," said Max. "You're pushy aren't you," said Vicki with a wild giggle. "The Hazzard side of this land may belong to you, but the Chickasaw side of the land belongs to my dad, Dick Jones. I'm Vicki Lynn Jones." "I think that I heard of you before. Can you prove that you own that land? Why are you here? You have to have a reason why you want access to that land," said Max sarcastically. "Here," said Vicki angrily as she handed Max over a piece of paper then added as she raised her gun towards Max's face, "Is this a good enough reason to prove that I own part of this land?" "I don't believe this. I'd thought that Boss Hogg owned part of this land," said Max as he backed away from the redhead then added, "This paper does prove that you own part of this land, but I still don't like it." "Boss Hogg does own the Hazzard side, but my dad bought the Chickasaw side so he could stash his moonshine. I'm so sorry that my dad bought the Chickasaw side," said Vicki sarcastically giving Max a smile. "This old house on Hazzard County side looks like that it has been deserted for a while," said Max as he was walking towards the old run-down farmhouse. "Well, I used it about a year ago as a hideout after my friends & I robbed the Hazzard Bank and Boar's Nest," said Vicki, showing Max where her friends were standing. "Did you ever get caught?" asked Max. "No, never did. Only because my fiance' owns part of Chickasaw County," said Vicki with a smile then added, "I hid in a mental hospital for a little while after the robberies until everything cooled off in Hazzard." "You're too pretty & crazy to be a crook. Then who are you working with? If I give you access to Chickasaw County side then you have to give me a reason why," said Max. Vicki smiled brightly at Max as she then wacks him over the head with her gun... Max stares in shock at the fleeing redhead & her goons. "Maybe I'll tell you or show you later who I'm working with, Max." said Vicki crazily then added as she was getting back into the convertible, "If you give me access to MY own land." Max just stares in shock as he watches the red corvette convertible drive fast out of the driveway... "That was one crazy lady," thought Max then added, "I wonder who she is working with and why she wants this land?" CUE: Max or Anyone! Y'all have fun with this post!

Several hours later... "Oh..." moaned Vicki as she opened her heavy eye lids. She moved around slightly and noticed that she had an IV needle in her right hand. "Honey, it's Mom. Open your eyes," said Mary as she rubbed on Vicki's arm. "Mom...the last time I talked to you, you were at Lulu's house," said Vicki moaning loudly. "Honey, you've been out for nearly 12 hours. How are you feeling now?" asked Mary. "Very tired, Mom," said Vicki yawning loudly as she closed her eyes then added, "The last time I woke up, I faintly heard Doc Applebey tell a nurse that I might be pregnant. Is that right?" Before Mary could answer her, Pam & her husband Shawn walked in the door. "How is she?" asked Pam as she and Shawn walked quietly into Vicki's hospital room. "Not good. She lost the baby during surgery, and I haven't told her yet," said Mary worriedly as she looked at her sleeping daughter. "Does Bo know?" asked Pam to her mother, looking around the room, noticing that Bo was no where to be seen. "I think so. Doc Applebey & I went to talk to him about it right after the surgery. Doc Applebey told Bo what happened during Vicki's surgery. He couldn't believe what had happened to Vicki. I think that it completely took him by surprise." "Did Bo run off after finding out? He has to be upset about Vicki losing the baby," asked Pam. "I don't know, honey. When he walked out of the waiting room, he was confronted by Hughie Hogg & Sheriff Little, and that was the last I saw him," said Mary, looking at her watch then added, "He's been gone for at least a couple of hours." "Mom, Vicki's surgery took all of us by surprise. Do you think that Vicki will be all right?" asked Pam. Mary looked again at her sleeping daughter. "Only time will tell, honey. We'll just have to see if Vicki pulls through this okay." "I hope so, Mom," said Pam worriedly then added, "When Vicki finds out what happened to her, she will be completely devestated. I'm going to go find Bo right now, and tell him to talk to Vicki about what happened."

Near the Chickasaw County line, Roger swerved to the right as the silver sportscar passed them like they were nothing. "What the world was that?" asked Roger. Vicki glanced in front of them. "A sportscar that could beat the Dukes in any race," giggled the redhead then added, "But I do believe that it was Hughie's old friend Max Davenport." "Wasn't Max the one that put Hughie in jail when they were teenagers?" asked Torey. "Yeah, that happened just before I moved out here from Oklahoma," said Vicki, brushing her red hair back then added as she looked behind them, "Roger. speed up! That crazy Sheriff is trying to catch up with us." "No problem, Red," said Roger, looking into his rear view mirror then added as he noticed the General Lee behind them, "Vicki, I know that you're not in the best of moods right now, but take a quick look behind you, behind that Sheriff's car." "DRAT! DANG! Max's cousin must have told them that I was back in Hazzard County," said the redhead angrily as she reached into her purse for her small hand gun then added, "Roger, if they try to run up beside us, run them off the road. I don't want them following us into Chickasaw County." "What about the Sheriff?" asked Torey. "Don't worry about him. Rosco can't follow us into Chickasaw County. It will be out of his jurdiction. We'll have to come back later with Hughie anyway," said Vicki then added to Roger, "Up here on the right between 2 large trees is a old dirt road. I want you to take that road. It will take us back to the hideout and right into Chickasaw County where we'll be safe from the Crazy idiots in Hazzard County." Torey & Roger died laughing from Vicki's remark. "Vicki, you better duck down. That orange car is trying to come up beside us," said Roger, noticing in his rear view mirror that Luke was trying come up beside them. "Hey! You crazy redhead! Pull over! I want to talk to you!" said Bo into the CB mike. Looking vengeful at Bo, Vicki picked up her CB mike. "No way, plowboy! If ya follow us into Chickasaw County, I'll have Sheriff Little arrest y'all for breaking your probation!" "You are crazy, Vicki! Sheriff LIttle only gave you that job because we sent you to a mental hospital, and he visited you there!" said Bo back into the CB mike. "Yeah, thanks to you, I'm much happier now than I was when I was working in Hazzard County," added Vicki back into the CB mike then added, "Why don't you leave me alone. We're just here taking a drive. I don't want to be bothered by you right now." "Fine with me! Go back to Hughie! See if I care!" barked Bo back into the CB mike. "With pleasure, plowboy!" yelled Vicki angrily into the CB mike. "Vicki, are you all right?" asked Roger as he was swerving, trying to avoid contact with the General Lee. "No! Force them off the road, now. We're less than 1000 feet from where we have to turn to go to the hideout," said Vicki as she glared meanly at Bo & Luke then added, "I'm in no mood for any tails right now." "Sure thing, Red. Sure enough, Rosco turned his patrol car around and started headed towards the mud covered General Lee. After skidding into the mud, Bo & Luke looked in shock as the speeding corvette passed them, and made a sharp right turn between 2 large trees. "You all right, cousin?" asked Luke, looking at Bo concernedly. "No! I can't believe that we were side-swiped off the road by that crazy redhead, and we can't do a thing about it! She's out of control!" said Bo. "Bo, calm down. Vicki's hasn't went crazy. She's just working on the wrong side of the law. Besides, her goons were the one that forced us off the road," said Luke as he was trying to calm Bo down. "I know, Luke," said Bo sighing loudly as he noticed that Rosco was pulling up beside them after turning around from chasing the crazy redhead... CUE: ANYONE! (Author Note: Since y'all didn't really like Vicki's voice while she was unconscious, I figure that this might make it better! 8) ) ********** ********** About 1 Hour before Vicki was in surgery... The ambulance came to a stop right in front of the emergency room doors at TRI-County Medical Center. The 2 EMTs rushed to the back to open the ambulance doors. Vicki's eyes fluttered for a minute as the pains in her stomach was getting worse as the EMTs were grabbing at the stretcher, trying to get her out. "Is she ever going to wake up?" asked Bo, whose voice was quivering as the EMTs were getting an nearly unconscious Vicki out. "We don't know. It really doesn't look too good," said Mike as he and the 2 other EMTs rushed Vicki inside the emergency room doors. Doc Applebey was ready to meet the EMTs with an unconscious Vicki. "Doc Applebey! Please help me! Vicki collasped while she was arresting me, Luke, Coy, and Vance back at the Chickasaw County/Hachapee County line about 15 minutes ago! She won't wake up!" said Bo in a frantic voice. "Bo, just calm down. I'll do my best to make her feel better," said Doc Applebey. "Just please save her, Doc," said Bo worriedly. "All right. Just wait here in the waiting room while we go check Vicki out," said Doc Applebey as he motioned Bo to sit down in a comfortable chair then added, "Don't worry about her. I'll make sure that she's better soon." "Yeah, she'll be all right, cousin. Don't worry about it," said Luke as he was trying to calm Bo down. "The way you've been talking about her, I bet that she has at least 9 lives," said Coy with a grin then added, "That is what I always liked about that redhead." "Yeah, y'all," said Vance as he was walking over towards a pay phone then added, "She is always full of life." A few minutes later, Doc Applebey was looking over Vicki's chart that the nurse handed him. He noticed that the EMT performed a couple of tests to diagonised what was wrong with Vicki. He smiled at first after reading the test, then frowned when he noticed that Vicki had experienced severe pains in her stomach recently. Vicki's eyes fluttered open as she was being jabbed with a needle. "Oh..." moaned Vicki then added, "My stomach hurts." "I know, honey," said Doc Applebey in a soothing voice then added, "Do you know where you're at?" "Am I in the hospital?" asked Vicki in a barely audiable voice. Doc Applebey shook his head yes. She shivered, "Why am I so cold?" Vicki then fell back unconscious. "Doc, her blood pressure is dropping, and she has a low pulse. Plus her temperature is up to 104," said Sally, the nurse. "Hmmm...I think that she went into severe shock. Get her into the operating room now," said Doc Applebey worriedly as he handed the nurse back the chart then added, "Since she is pregnant, more than likely the baby started growing in the wrong spot. We're going to have to see if we can move the baby down in the right place, UNLESS her tube has already rupptured." Sally frowned. "So that is the reason why she's loosing blood?" Doc Applebey frowned back at Sally. "Yeah, I think that she had a bioptic pregnancy(Miscarriage). It looks like that we'll have to operate to save her life. Take her into surgery." "Does her friends know that she was pregnant?" asked Sally. "No, I was just about to go outside and tell them the bad news," said Doc Applebey as he walked out of the emergency room doors towards the waiting room.

Vicki's POV - through her dreams "Doctor! She's loosing blood! Her blood pressure is dropping!" said the nurse. "Something is wrong!" said Doc Applebey, opening Vicki's eyes with his penlight then added, "Get her into the operating room right now!" My stomach continues to hurt very bad as I moaned softly. Just then, I felt someone put a mask over my nose & mouth. I had then fallen back into a deep sleep. *While I was dreaming, I opened my eyes again. The tears were just streaming down my face as I walk through the foggy mist. I'm not sure where I'm going as I continued to walk through the mist. As I continued walking, I come to a fork in the road. Do I go left or right? I go to the right. As I go to the right, I ended up outside the operating room, right into the emergency waiting room. There, I see my mom & dad sitting together talking. "If Vicki pulls through this, let's talk her into quitting her job & move to Oklahoma to help Pam run the ranch," said Dick as he puts his arm around Mary's shoulder. They were talking about my sister's ranch in Oklahoma, and how they were wanting me to go out there and visit her and her family. After what I been through in the last few hours, I will probably take them up on their offer. After all, I think that a different change in scenery is EXACTLY what I need right now. But what will it do to my relationship with Bo? Leaving him temporarily might devastate him. I don't know if I could do that right now. Unless, he is here only temporarily... I walk out, and into the hall. There, by the elevators, I see Sheriff Little confronting Bo, Luke, Coy, and Vance Duke about why I collasped, and why I am in the hospital right now. Noticing an empty chair in the hall, I sat down and listened to their conversation. "Hold it, Dukes!" said Sheriff Little angrily then added, "Y'all aren't going anywhere until you tell me why y'all put my best deputy in the hospital!" "Sheriff! We didn't put Vicki in the hospital!" protested Bo. "Yeah, she collasped on Silver Creek Road. We were just bringing her here!" said Luke. "While she was arresting us for reckless driving. Vicki didn't do a thing wrong!" added Bo worriedly as he looked towards the operating room doors. "That's an unlikely story. I'm placing y'all under arrest for attempted murder on my deputy," said Sheriff Little as he places one handcuff on Luke's wrist, and the other one on Bo's wrist. He them pushes them back down roughly on the sofa. "We're going to wait here until my deputy comes out of surgery." By the look on my boss's face, I knew that he was pretty angry with them. I look at Sheriff Little again. I was thinking why I took that job in the 1st place. The main reason was because Rosco told me that all he needed was 2 deputies around, not 3 deputies. I didn't get mad that I was being let go of my job, I simply just called Sheriff Little and asked him if that job was still available. When he told me it was, that was when I packed my bags and moved to Chickasaw County. He's been nice to me most of the time until I now saw a side of him that I didn't like. I knew then if I were to stay around him, I might end up with that aggresive & hateful attitude. I choke back a tear, when I realized that I almost ended up there just a few hours ago. Now I know that I'm going to quit being a deputy completely when I get better. It's beginning to take a toll on my behavior & my life. A change in scenery is exactly what I need right now... I sighed loudly as I walk back towards the operating room doors. I am now back in that foggy mist...

VICKI'S POV My lower stomach is killing me as I keep my eyes closed. I know that there is something wrong with me. I think that I now know what it is, especially after hearing faintly what the EMT said to my husband. I feel like that I am going into a severe shock. If the EMT is right, and I am pregnant, then it must have happened about 7 weeks ago when my husband & I were on our way home from our vacation right before he went back out on the NASCAR circuit. As the ambulance came to a sudden stop, I felt another jolt of pain in my lower stomach. I nearly scream out in pain, but I kept it in. I feel like crying because of the pain, but I don't. Although I do feel a tear fall down my face. But the tear wasn't mine, it was Bo's. I can feel that he is sad & worried about me. Then a stray tear fell down my face. The tear was mine & Bo's sadness as I know now that I probably have lost the baby. I know inside my sad, broken heart that Bo is completely devastated...

As Jesse & Pam were looking at the denomator box on how to undo the bomb without blowing up the General, Daisy, Luke, and Vicki continued their search at the back of the barn for Bo. "Bo, if you can hear me, darling, please tell me..." said Vicki in a barely audiable tone as she frantically keeps searching the hay. "Sweet Angel, HELP! Get me out of here!" screamed Bo through his gag, as he was pulling against his restraints. Vicki's eyes widen after hearing Bo's muffled scream. "Bo, if that was you. Keep screaming," said Vicki as she continued to pitching the hay right & left then added towards Luke & Daisy, "Hey, Y'all. I think that I hear him in front of me!" "That's good," said Luke as he rushed over to the redhead. Daisy added, "At least we know that the creep didn't take Bo with him." "Yeah, only because I think that I walked out on them as the creep was leaving," said Vicki sarcastically as she continues to pitch the hay behind her until her eyes caught something bright under the hay. She gasped outloud as her hand brushed across some fabric. "OH...MY...GOSH" "What is it, Little Red?" asked Luke, putting a hand on the redhead. "Luke, look directly in front of me!" said Vicki frantically. Luke noticed directly in front of them. He noticed that Bo's yellow shirt was directly in front of them still semi-buried under the hay. Luke smiled at the redhead as he got down on his knees and started helping Vicki pitched the hay away. "Vicki, I think that you & me found Bo." The three young people continue to pitch the hay for a few more minutes. "What on earth..." gasped Daisy in shock. "Holy smokes!" said Luke angrily as the last of the hay was removed then added, "I can't believe that the crazed lunatic would do such a thing like that! I can't believe that he would booby trap Bo like that!" Vicki just stared in a daze as she saw Bo lying on the floor, tied to a bomb box...

On the way to the hospital, one of the EMTs did a blood test on an unconscious Vicki, and it turns out that the redhead is pregnant. "This is a surprise," said Mike, the EMT that did a blood test on Vicki. "What?" asked Bo, looking up at the EMT as he continued to hold Vicki's lifeless hand. Mike noticed that there were tears falling down Bo's face. "I think that you're in for a surprise, Mr. Duke, but I'll let Dr. Applebey tell you what it is, if this blood test is right," said Mike. "Is there something wrong with my wife?" asked Bo worriedly. Mike made a grim face to Bo. "It doesn't look good, considering that she has experienced severe stomach pains." Kissing Vicki's lifeless hand gently, Bo said a silent prayer. "Please, Lord, please let my sweet angel stay with me a little longer...Please Lord with all my heart forgive me of all my mistakes in the past...Don't take Vicki away from me, I love her deeply..."

"What are we going to do?" asked Pam nervousily then added, "If we try to move it, the bomb will explode!" "Honey, it will be all right!" said Jesse, trying to calm the strawberry redhead down then added, "All we have to do is check the timer on the box of dynamite, and we have to remove the right wire from the box." "I hope so. I'm going to call Rosco & Enos on the CB. We're going to need help trying to undo those wires," said Pam worriedly then added to herself, "If my little sister finds Bo in time, I wonder if he is tied to an explosive too??" Meanwhile, near the back of the barn, Vicki, Luke, & Daisy continue their search for Bo...

Jasper laughed as he walked away from the barn. "Even if y'all find him, I have y'all locked in there so tight, that I'll be long gone by the time y'all get out!" he said to himself as he was getting into his black sedan. After hearing what Jasper said, Pam walked out on the front porch with Jesse. "Did you hear what that creep said?" asked Pam furiously. "Sure did, honey," said Jesse as he walked outside, carrying his shotgun then added, "Let's go see what that crook did to my barn, and why Luke, Daisy, and Vicki are in there!" "I can tell you the only reason why they're in there is because they're looking for where that creep stashed Bo!" said Pam angrily as she followed Jesse towards the barn. "What happened to Bo?" asked Jesse. "I really don't know for sure, but Luke saw signs of a struggle outside the barn door," said Pam worriedly looking at her watch then added, "It has been well over 2 hours since Bo disappeared." "Oh...no! Look what that crazy idiot put up against the barn door," said Jesse angrily, stopping in front of the closed barn door. "Oh, my gosh!" said Pam excitedly. It was the General parked in front of the barn door, loaded with dynamite...

Luke, Daisy, & Vicki followed the tracks all the way to the far end of the barn. "Well, the tracks end here," said Luke, looking at the tracks on the dusty floor. Vicki looked in front of her at the pile of hay in the far corner. She thought that she saw something or someone move under it. "Wait a minute, Y'all! I think that I see something moving under the hay in front of us!" "It must be Bo trapped under that hay!" said Luke worriedly as he, Daisy, & Vicki started moving the hay around, trying to find Bo. Meanwhile at the front of the barn, Jasper laughed loudly as he shuts the barn door & locks it, trapping the young people in there...
