Hello.
I've been after a DVD set of the show, but I'd like to know if any of y'all have made picture quality comparisons between all the ones available?
Far as I know, there's the "Original Set" with the Confederate Flag, and then two repackaged releases (Standard DVD cases and a newer with two fat cases containing all discs), released in the U.S. Now, in the U.K., there were the individual DVD seasons and a complete boxset (repackage of the individual seasons).
There might be more in the world, although the best ones are likely the U.S. due to being in NTSC format and running at the correct framerate.
P.S. Yes, Amazon does have the series beautifully remastered in HD, but there's a problem: The show has been cropped to 16:9 aspect ratio and the intended aspect ratio is 4:3 AR.

I've played this game to death so am pretty much done with it, but it sure was fun to play with General Lee as my main car (well, not really as it's missing the Rebel Flag).

The General  Lee without the flag is NOT the General Lee...neither is TDOH!!

I never saw that but I can guess how it went because the same thing happens to all situation comedies. The first 2 years are funny. Then they run out of material and the next two years are jokes about sex. Then the next 2 years are even nastier jokes about sex. The Dukes did the opposite. You never heard anybody joking about Enos's virginity or how many illegitimate kids Luke had, except in the first few episodes. You never see something get cleaner nowadays. I'm glad the Dukes did.

For the first time watching the show, sure, but afterwards it's just optional.
 
I watched the whole of Married With Children, the early seasons were absolutely fantastic although the later ones were really hard to stomach as it wasn't really that funny, if anything, it just felt unpleasant and rude. As if they had forgotten about comedy.
 
Think it was Seasons 1-7 (or 8), and afterwards it went downhill.
 
The Dukes were never that bad, thankfully.

I don't know how to internet shop but my wife takes care of ordering it if I do get anything on there. Rosco's Mama had something to say about internet shopping when she was surprised that Rosco got his girlfriend out of a computer....actually, wasn't really the internet back then but it was a funny line. 

I think I only seen the Coy and Vance season a time or two. They had great themes or plots for them, but it was definitely not the same as Bo and Luke. I think if they got actors and made them their own characters, it would have worked better. I felt like they were replacements for Bo and Luke with just different names. . .and not as cute as Bo and Luke.  It definitely got better when Bo and Luke returned from the circuit. Except maybe for "The Strange Visitor" episode...anything was better than that one, I feel like. Just my two cents worth...lol

It depends. If I am just looking to watch an episode I wouldn't normally put Coy and Vance in. If I want to watch the whole series in order I have to watch them of course. They really aren't that bad. In fact I like most of them....and the good thing is that the rest of the cast are just as fantastic as ever! 

The episodes are great don't get me wrong, but when watching Dukes of Hazzard I'd much rather see Bo & Luke than their replacements.
 
Oh, and the jumps General Lee made I just love it. As cool as KITT is, never as much as the General. 😆

Thanks for posting this. I bet the people who made the video are Dukes fans. Instantly became my all time favorite video after watching it. I'm just like him. Bought my land when I was 19 in 1979 and it is part of me.  At this point in my life there are many things that matter more than money, including the memories of the daughter I lost. 

I suppose it's just the looks and white beard he has.

He certainly does a better job than Willie Nelson!

Amazon has a native HD Remaster which looks beautiful, but unfortunately they cropped it to 16:9 so we're missing the details from the top and bottom.
 
Plus, it'll cut out the Rebel flag from the General Lee which is part of his character/identity.
 
For a General Lee without the flag, it's the bootleg car in Burnout Paradise that looks nearly identical to General Lee.
 
 
 
Burnout Paradise honestly feels like the best Dukes of Hazzard game there is as it allows us to do insane jumps with General Lee and I love that! The official DoH games weren't very good, I think. Sadly.
 
 

I do wish a publisher would make a new Dukes of Hazzard game that would cover the series and with great gameplay, but I fear the devs would be sent death threats because of the flag General Lee has.
 
Probably the same reason the HD remaster hasn't been released on Blu-ray.. afraid they'll be called "racist" and be canceled.

This is awesome! The 01 looks like O1 like the Pre Cooter car in the 2005 movie.

Love rewatching the show with Bo and Luke just good time and all, but Coy and Vance as good as they tried to be Bo and Luke's replacement it just didn't work, imo.
 
They were good boys no doubt and very friendly, at least there's that. Some replacements are just painful to watch.
