I started working on another General Lee model.  This is the 1/25 scale MPC Snap Kit General Lee.
I started by re-shaping the rear window.  It's basically a rectangle in the kit so I made it a bit larger and rounded at the top and also changed the angle to be a bit more steep.  I added missing window trim under the side windows and made the rear wheel openings slightly smaller in the rear.  
The body is painted 1975 Corvette Flame Red which was the color most used on the General Lee(s) in the TV show.  The paint is from Gravity Colors.  The decals represent the early Georgia car which is my favorite look.  In a few days I'll spray the clear coat on the body.  
I worked on the interior a bit.  I scratch built arm rests, pedals, window rollers, center console, head rests automatic shifter and a roll bar.    This kit comes with a stick shift but the General Lee was always shown on screen with an automatic.  I also modified the transmission on the chassis to resemble a 727 Torqueflite automatic.
The interior had an armrest molded into the center console which I removed.  I also added a strip of molding along the upper part of the door panels.  
Much like the MPC glue kit General Lee, the dashboard sat too low and level.  I raised it up and angled it a bit.  The interior tub sat to low and too far forward when it was attached to the inside of the body.  I removed the mounting tabs and filed down the sides so it fits up to the top of the doors and moved back a bit.  I had to then move the dashboard forward.
The grill inserts in the kit are for a later year Charger, much like the MPC glue kit.  I scratch built new grill inserts using some ribbed styrene sheet.  The push bar is scratch built to resemble the early style push bar.
I'll get the parts in primer and start painting them.

Angela Lansbury has died just 5 days before her 97th birthday. She passed away in her sleep at her LA home. Born in London in 1925, when she wasn't in LA, she spent a good bit of time at her home in Co. Cork here in Ireland.

I'm sure we all remember her as Jessica Fletcher in 'Murder She Wrote'. Here she is entering the former Duke Farm at Valencia Oaks in the 1988 episode 'Coal Miner's Slaughter', an episode which also featured Denver Pyle and Celebrity Speed Trap victim Hoyt Axton. For another Dukes tie-in, from 1976 to 1981, Cathy Bach was married to Angela's stepson David Shaw.

I bought the individual seasons too.
My Season 1, 2, 3 & 6 are double sides discs.  Seasons 4, 5, & 7 are on single sides discs.  I wish they were all on single sided discs.  Sometimes double sided discs can have problems.
I would buy whichever set is on single sided discs.
As far as I know it was never remastered in 16:9.  They just keep putting the series out with the same transfers only in new packaging and the later discs being single sided.

The color was all over the place on the stunt cars.  There has been a lot of conflicting stories about the color but the most consistent is 1975 Corvette Flame Red.  I built 2 models of the General Lee.  I painted one in Chevrolet Hugger Orange and one in 1975 Corvette Flame Red.  The Hugger Orange is too red and the Flame Red looks right.  A lot of the orange colors are very similar.  I just wouldn't trust a scan of 40 year old paint.  I've had colors scanned and the new color made from the scan never matches 100%.    

It's been all but confirmed the beauty cars(cars seen close up) were painted 1975 Corvette Flame Red, GM code 70.  I remember reading an article that stated when they scanned the trunk lid it matched Corvette Flame Red.  Even a scan of old paint won't give accurate results.  Reds, yellows and oranges tend to change more than other colors over time.  They did use other orange colors on the stunt cars mostly to save money and would often mix leftovers to make enough to paint a car.  
Some people think Hemi Orange was used but it wasn't.  Hemi Orange is a 1969 Dodge Charger color but it's a very dark red-orange and almost always photographs red.  Hemi Orange does have a light metallic in it too.

In his last movie, 'Liar Liar',  he played Judge Marshall Stevens. The movie also featured Christopher Mayer. Sadly, both Jason and Christopher died in their late-50s (58 and 57 respectively).

Stingray was a British children's science fiction television series from the 1960s which was filmed using puppets or marionettes. You can watch the intro here.
The Opel GT is a great looking car with headlights that flip over. They did one a few years ago on 'Wheeler Dealers' - there's a clip here for anyone unfamiliar with this car.

Opel was a European subsidiary of General Motors for many years. They sold cars in the US through Buick dealers under the Opel name from 1958-1975. Since then, many other Opels have been sold in the US, rebadged as models such as the Saturn Astra, 5th & 6th generation Buick Regals and the Cadillac Catera. There's more info on Wikipedia.

It seems that General Motors sold Opel (and UK sister company, Vauxhall) to the French PSA Group in 2017. In 2021, the PSA Group merged with Italian-American group Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) under the name Stellantis. Opels are still sold in Ireland and the rest of Europe, although they are rebadged as Vauxhalls in the UK.
