*sigh* Oh Chet, yer back. Great. Folks. Look. We can please some of the people some of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but we can't please all the people all the time. It just can't be done. I just got through one thread where there was griping about there being too many role playing threads. Now I got this thread about the quality of the writing in some of the Round Robins. Why this sudden complaining? And now what, we're back to the original characters vs. created characters thing again?? What the hell?? Would y'all like it better if we just took away ALL THE WRITING FORUMS?? Hmmm???? My response to Chet is this. There's too many folks here with varying levels of writing skill. I gave up trying give constructive critques awhile ago because all it ever got me was somebody screaming at me. So simply, if I can't comprehend what I'm reading, I just don't read it. And ya know what, Chet, you don't have to read it either. I mean, come on, is anybody really being hurt by any of this? No. Is it so bad that we try to make things as accomodating as possible for folks here? Apparently so. Man I'm starting to get just a little bit peeved here... The seperation between the ROLE PLAYING and the ROUND ROBINS is very clear, folks. I can't make it any clearer. I mean, they each got their own forums. There's even seperated forums for the Role Playing for Original Characters and Created Characters. However, I've about given up enforcing the rules of the Round Robins because nobody gives a damn about the rules anyway. I've about given up with rules period. The inmates are running the asylum here. I just wander the halls to break up the fights.

Basically reserrecting the 2006 March Luck Challenge. LOL From now until the end of March, we're looking for stories about LUCK! Good luck, bad luck....or the complete lack of luck! From lady luck to potluck to hard luck, show us how luck has been treating somebody in Hazzard! We'd like to see some stories by March 17th, but we'll be taking submissions through the end of March. So I noticed in the Sick Day Challenge thread that the following two issues were brought up... 1. I dropped the ball on issueing the Valentines Challenge (*sigh* so much for my tall dark and handsome man in the three piece suit and aviator sunglasses story...dang it...) 2. This challenge section of HNet denotes that only Admin/Mods can post challenges. Well, dip, what moron decided that? Oh. THIS moron decided that. Whups!! Okay, well, since I blew it on the Valentines Challenge, Alex reminded me about how we once did a Luck Challenge (back in '06 I think it was), where you write a story involving luck, either good or bad (or no luck at all LOL). SO! In another post, I'm gonna put an o-fficial announcement about the 2009 Luck Challenge! And then I'm gonna change the description of this section of the forums to not say that only Admins/Mods can post challenge ideas. I mean, really, any y'all can post ideas for challenges, it shouldn't have to come from just myself, Mufn or Brian right? Right! Awrighty, that should take care of those two issues. Unfortunately, no easy fix for the tall, dark and handsome man with the aviator sunglasses. Damn, I can't believe I bungled that!

RPs and RRs a very unique beasts I've learned over the years. LOL. What Val says above it absolutely true. Basically RPs and RRs are easy come, easy go. Some writers just don't click right in an RP. Some of the last RPs I participated in I had to bow out of because I just couldn't get on the same wave length as the other writers. It wasn't anything personal or that I didn't like the story line (err..well..LOL) but I just couldn't keep up with the flow. Jessi is right in that not everyone's gonna read the RPs or participate. However, Jessi, Dukefan wasn't trying to tell anybody what they can and can't post. I can understand Dukefan's frustration about being in an RR and it seems like nobody else wants to play. That seemed to be the jist of his point. I've been there but I know that that's the way it is. Cest la vie. The important part is, write what you want to write. Write for your enjoyment. If other folks participate and all, that's even better. But the thing is, have fun with it yourself first. So let's not turn this into an arguement over the RPs ok?

ROFL! Boss in the Elvis-inspired wig in that episode is worth the price of admission. Khee!
