  1. Enos only shook not knowing what to do then "You know he's. . .well you both know I won't be here much longer. . .I wish I was, but I won't. I won't be able to help you through your problems. . .I don't know what your Uncle would say, but probably that you both need to be strong."
  2. Jesse smiled "Well I suppose your Granny is worried. I reckon you ought to head on back to her house."
  3. Enos was detirmined "What do you think he would say granny?"
  4. Jesse smiled "I'm guessing Daisy was pretty happy? She's needed a little carefree time for a while."
  5. Enos nodded trying to blink back the tears that threatend to fall "What would Uncle Jesse say, Daisy?"
  6. Jesse met them at the door and smiled at Enos while Bo and Luke took Daisy "You two have a good time? What you do?" Jesse asked Enos.
  7. Enos bit his lip trying not to cry "Daisy. . . .please. . .I'm so worried about you like you can't imagine."
  8. Luke nodded Jesse smiled looking down from the paper he was reading.
  9. Granny and even more so Enos looked at her surpprised. "Well what about for the young'uns?" she asked. "Daisy you need to eat." Enos coaxed.
  10. Granny nodded "Anything you'd like me to make you for supper?" she asked.
  11. Enos nervously set her in the seat and went to the other side and carefully closed the door and started it up.
  12. Granny smiled "Anything you or the young'uns need? I'll help, but what are you going to do about Andrew going to school?"
  13. Finally he reluctantly scooped her into his arms and carefully carried her to the stationwagon.
  14. Enos wrapped an arm around her rubbing her back "I know Daisy. I just wish you didn't have so much on your shoulder."
  15. Enos nodded "Well Daisy, I know it's hard for you having to deal with all the kids. I know it can't be nothing."
  16. Enos sighed knowing he needed to get her home.
  17. Agree there Grarret. it does kind of contradict some of his songs like American Soldier, but again times have changed so. . .but yeah. . .I agree with Alan too. . .I have six of his seventeen albums.
  18. Daisy smiled "Somehow I think I could get used to you being like that. . .maybe. . .as long as you don't get that way with me."
  19. Daisy smiled seeing Granny and Enos at the table.
  20. "Just never seen you act that bravely before." she said.
