Jed: wait . . .her last name's Duke? Jethro's is Bodine.

Cooter: Oh. . .well, I'm free Friday night . . .think she'd mind watching the moon glow on gas with me? (some crazy thing that the guys in Mayberry apparently do)

Jed: Jethro? What you talking about? Wait . . .you mean I have two grandkids?

Cooter: Elly? Okay . . .what about her? (g2g now. I'll talk later tonight if I ain't too tired. We're having an all day picnic. Oh and happy fourth)

Jed: *wraps his arms around Daisy* I know Daisy. I just . . .well Elly's my only young'un I couldn't stand it if something happend to her.

Cooter: Okay. I'll see what I can do. Anything else?

Cooter: Oh hey Daisy. What you need?

Jed: Well I reckon it's finally true that I'm letting Elly go. Like Granny did Ellen. *sighs as tears start to fall* Please tell me that this don't mean I'm gonna loose her. I just couldn't stand it.

Elly: Sure will. Might have a little talk with him.

All three of them went in search of Daisy.

Jesse: Well it's an old trick that me and J.D. used to have. I know Martha's gonna kill me,but you go on inot the shack to distract them and then I come in and we get Daisy.

Jesse: What you young'uns tallkin about?

Elly: thanks Daisy *looks down to Jenny* You hear that Jenny?

Just then Jesse and Jed show up.

Elly: and Dixie? Well anyway. I think I will Daisy. I'm afraid of getting hurt, but I'll do it. If you could tell Cooter for me.

Enos: I hope so. I couldn't stand to see anything else tear this family appart.

Elly: i thought y'all took your stuff to him anyhow.

Daisy: I know we'll try Cooter. I couldn't stand to see you get hurt again. Enos: Yeah and I know I can't do my job half right, but I'm going to see to it that you and Elly are all right.

Elly: I can tell. He don't seem like he's a guy who'd hurt me. I know I'm scared of it right now, but I trust him. . .I think.

Daisy: *hugs him* Don't worry Cooter. We won't let anything happen to Elly or Matt.

Elly: Cooter huh? Well . . .maybe I could give him a chace. For some reason I feel like he really won't hurt me. He's so loyal to y'all and all also.

Daisy: Never had a doubt about that. So what plans y'all making now that he's here? Remember Nancy Lou's still after you and Elly.

Elly: I know Daisy, but the truth is that you've had a lot more happiness than I could ever hope for. At least you had Enos to be there for you. The only ones I'm sure love me now are you guys and Jenny.

Daisy: *chuckles* Okay then. Well how is the little fella and Elly? I know Uncle Jed has to be happy about all this.

Elly: Well I'd probably be poor judgement to say since I never wanted to get Married because well . . .I've been telling you about the guys who've hurt me right? Course I might be bad judgement, but I can tell that Enos would never hurt you.
