In the morning Jeb, Heather, and Cooter were all sitting at the table when Lizzy walks in. She kisses both Heather and Cooter on the top of the head wishing them a good morning then moves behind Jeb. "I'm sorry about last night." Lizzy whispers then kisses his cheek. -
"I guess. I don't mean to be so hard on him." Lizzy says looking up at Cooter.

"For now though I think we both need some sleep." Cooter says.

"True and he's always been up front with me I'm just having a hard time moving past my trust issue. I don't think I'd be like this if it wasn't for Austin." Lizzy says.

"If she's going out with them then you should spend some time with Heather. Get to know your daughter and maybe that will give you some clues as how to break Lizzy." Cooter says.

"I'm so scared Daddy." Lizzy admits looking at her shoes.

"You have to push through her shell and make her see you're more stubborn than she is. Make her talk. Not tomorrow it'll be too soon and you'll push her away but the day after should be ok. I have faith in you." Cooter says.

"That's what I thought about Austin and he killed my son. Dad I can't do it." Lizzy says. "You knew nothing about Austin when you married him but you know everything about Luke. Baby steps Lizzy. You have to trust him. He's willing to work with you if you give him a chance." Cooter says. "I can't. What if it happens again? I can't take that chance." Lizzy says.

"There is another way to prove you love her and it has nothing to do with putting your ring on her finger. You have to support her and get her to talk about Petey. It'll help her move past it. It's gonna be hard but I know you can do it." Cooter says.

"Of course I do Dad that's no question." Lizzy says. "Then why don't you trust him?" Cooter asks. "Of course I trust him." Lizzy argues.

"The only thing I see when I look at her is that she's scared. You have a seven year old daughter who thinks the world of you and a woman who will love you until she dies if you're willing to help prove you love her. The fact that she's still hung up on Petey means that she loves fiercely. You can't give up if you truly love her." Cooter says.

"Elizabeth Davenport sometimes I don't know what to do with you." Cooter says. "What do you mean?" Lizzy asks. "Trust is a vital thing in a relationship without it your relationship ain't gonna go anywhere." Cooter says. "So what?" Lizzy asks.

"You don't honestly believe that do you?" Cooter asks shutting Lizzy's door behind him.

"Hey Luke why don't you get Molly and Matt ready to go home while I talk to Lizzy. Just for a minute." Cooter suggests.

"Jeb I think you've done enough for tonight." Cooter says. Jeb looks back at Cooter and shakes his head. "Enough is enough. You're better off going back to bed." Jeb sighs heavily but seeing as Lizzy won't stop he leaves the room. "Come on sweetheart to bed with you." "Daddy I..." "What?" "Petey promised me that last shot was his last he was going to switch to national guard after we got married because I didn't like him being in something so dangerous. Jeb told me the same thing. He'd give it up for me. I...I..." Lizzy bawls again. "Shhh. It'll be alright. You're not thinking clearly right now. You need some sleep in to bed now." Cooter says tucking her in. "Daddy I..." "Sleep and we'll talk in the morning." Lizzy sighs but tries to fall asleep.

"Am I doing something wrong?" Lizzy asks.

Lizzy freezes up and shuts her eyes tight. Suddenly the floodgates open and Lizzy starts bawling.

"That's good." Lizzy says perching on the bed.

"Jeb please...just stop." Lizzy begs trying to pull away from him.

"How's she doing?" Lizzy asks.

"I really wish you wouldn't say that." Lizzy says.

Eventually Lizzy walks in after leaving a sleeping Sam. "Hey." She says.

Soon Cooter finds himself at the hospital in the same room with Salena, Luke, Molly, Matt, Lucas, and Artan. "How are things going at home Luke? I know it's been kinda rough." Cooter says. "Yeah rough but that's too be expected with a new baby in the house." Luke says. "How are things with Matt?" Cooter asks. "They're fine. I'm handling things as good as can be considering..." Luke says. "Considering what?" "Considering the fact that I'm not allowed to bathe Matt or Molly. When it comes to anything else I'm superdad I can do it all but come bath time I'm not allowed near the bathtub. The closest I can come is the toilet. But after that she'll freeze up and I have to back off." Luke sighs. "Slow steps Luke. Start by sitting on the toilet and handing her stuff then try kneeling behind or beside her just watch and maybe soon she'll back off to the point you're at know just watching." Cooter suggests. "She's been hurt so bad but I thought she knew I was different, that I wasn't going to hurt her." Luke sighs again. "I know but give it time. Sometimes that's all you can do." Cooter says. Luke sighs again and nods.
