I'm just watching 'To Catch a Duke'. When Boss fires Rosco:

Rosco: "Listen, I want to take this to a higher court."

Boss: "Then get yourself a ladder."

Boss Hogg:"Rosco, if you ever have to live your life over again, don't!" Rosco:"If I do, I hope I'm a duck!"

Boss Hogg:"Alright! What'd you crooks do with them furs!?" Luke Duke:"We upholstered the General with 'em." Bo Duke:"Teh. They put 'em in that blue car. They're gettin' away." Rosco:"Boss, maybe that was that blue car goin' South that nearly run over our posteriors goin' North." Boss Hogg:"Yeah. But you believe that-" Luke Duke:"Yeah. If you give us a chance, we'll help you catch 'em." Boss Hogg:"Sure you will!"(to Rosco)"And you believe in the words of a Duke!? Go on lock 'em up!"

Bo Duke:"Maybe it's because you do scare me, and believe me, not many women do."

No MaryAnne, it's my fault. I challenged him to write a quality post. Of course I'm still trying to write my first quality post too. Both of us are pretty competitive so the race is on.

Woops, I needed the edit button on this one. The challenge was to write posts of NO quality. (I guess I succeeded again.)

Got a house full of grandkids right now. It's louder than the Boar's Nest. Nobody is paying attention to 'ol grandpa right at the moment so I thought I'd getaway to Hazzard County for a second. Have a fun weekend everybody. 

He was so much a part of the sport when I started watching it. I read his autobiography about 20 years ago, and I bought it in hardback. The BBC are putting on a tribute show on Tuesday night, so I'll being staying up to watch that. In the meantime, there's a shorter tribute on the F1 site - I hope you take the time to watch it:

Boss and Uncle Jesse were standing in front of the Courthouse and Jesse was getting tired of hearing Boss brag about how much money all his crooked businesses were making so Jesse interrupted him.
"Ya know Boss, I'm a successfull businessman myself. I made $1572 selling firewood last year. That means that in 2008, my business outperformed Chrysler, Merrill Lynch, A.I.G., and Leyman Brothers by $430,000,001,572".

I'm in the middle of a book called "The Case for Faith" by Lee Strobel. I read it a couple years ago but it is worth reading again. His logic for believing in God makes so much sense. 

The odd thing is that only the stuff that offends liberals is what is being banned. The stuff that offends conservatives is not only, not being banned, but it is encouraged. When you attempt to silence half of the people in a large nation you shouldn't be surprised that folks get angry. Can you imagine how Jesse would feel if he was here. 

I just reconnected with DaisyMaeDuke and she has been married for 9 years now.....and they still own a General Lee.

Speaking of names, just my bad luck, the only person ever named Roger on the show was a bad guy. Duke Gaylord Duke was really Roger Blevins back in England.

By the way, I don't know what Roger Blevins' real name was....sounds like a job for that good guy (originally) from England...take it away Hoss!

At least somebody across the big pond still has common sense. The folks running the culture over here are clueless.....or maybe they know exactly what they are doing and are just downright evil. 

Story I read on yahoo didn't even mention the one was for music rights issue, figures. If it did it wouldn't rile up the cancel culture nuts.
Pat Sajak better turn into a robot host as he's being ripped apart on social media for his offensive mean spirited humor towards contestants .
The world is a changing fellas, everything is offensive and if you're not on the bandwagon then you are wrong.

There's a coincidence - 'Along Came a Duke' was in the middle of the Dukes triple bill that I watched this morning.

I'm hijacking this thread briefly with the sad news that legendary F1 commentator Murray Walker has died at the age of 97. For many, not just in the UK, he was the voice of F1 with a career spanning well over 50 years. Not bad considering that his first career was in advertising. Even in more recent years he'd still make appearances at the British Grand Prix.

Got outbid on another house this morning. It was our first time at an auction so it was an interesting experience. The auctioneer never even got down to our max. Soon as he came down to $100k a guy bid. There were about half dozen of us there to bid on the house but in the end only two people bid on it. One guy kept upping his bid $5k till the other couple dropped out. I think it was a bleeping  flipper. Those bleepers are buying up houses like wildfire around here. People wanting to buy a house can't catch a break because those suckers swoop in 1st day a house comes on the market and puts in a cash offer that 9 times out if ten the seller accepts. It's become such an issue that one of the local news stations even did a story about flippers buying up the majority of the houses around here a few days ago. Would've been a nice little slice of country heaven. 

Uncle Jesse Duke:"That fella must've won his license in a turkey shoot!" Daisy Duke:"No way, Uncle Jesse! He knew exactly what he was doin'!"

Bo Duke:"Now, the Dukes and the Hoggs been on opposite sides of the fence fer years! We always have been, and we always will be!" Luke Duke:"And the day we step over that fence, it's gonna be a cold day in-" Uncle Jesse Duke:"You watch yer language! Now, you listen to me, both of you! You boys are reacting to prejudice! I guess it's time for me to get out of General Grant's way. She's obviously done her homework and I know when I've been beat. I'm very impressed with your work General Grant.
Besides, I did say I was just going to be a cheerleader. Since I (thankfully) don't know how to post pictures, you'll just have to imagine me with the orange pom poms (the same shade as the General Lee).

Here I am to officially testify that I agree with General Grant that she isn't shy about giving her opinion. LOL
Whenever her opinion is opposite of mine, that's a sure sign that she's 100% wrong (LOL) but this time she makes sense. A lot of sense. That was a very thoughtful and informative post General. I'm impressed. Nice job.
I've been lucky enough to not have to worry about my weight so please feel free to ignore this advice since I'm NOT speaking from experience.
Even though all of General Grant's last post was awesome. one word stuck out with me...cravings.
People sure have made a lot of money writing books about how to lose weight but if I wrote one it would only have two words..DON'T EAT. Of course I realize it's not that easy but if you could follow those two words of instruction it would be impossible for you to not succeed....unless of course you have some other severe medical condition that factors in.
Again, I'm unqualified to give advice but I would focus on making your cravings your enemy and finding out how to muster the strength to defeat that enemy. If it were me, I would simply focus on one thing, cravings. Why are you getting them and how can you stop them. If the problem is in your head, you can find the strength to fix it.
Of course exercise is great because it improves your cardio-vascular system and that's important but if you didn't exercise at all and stopped eating as much, you'll lose weight. It's very simple. It's not easy but it is simple.
You need to turn your enemy (the cravings) into your friend. When you're eating, you're gaining weight. When you're having cravings, you're losing weight. Losing weight is good so cravings are your friend.
Of course, you have to be careful. If you become too friendly with those cravings you could get obsessed and that's not good either. It is possible to be overweight and malnourished. General Grant had good advice by saying you should have realistic goals and not try to lose too much at once. I also liked what she said about fullfilling cravings using healthier alternatives.
Well, that's about all I know about it. I'll just sit back and watch and be the cheerleader here. Hey, maybe you should picture Uncle Jesse in a cheerleader outfit. That should make you lose your appetite....unless your name is Emma Tisdale.

Sorry to hear that Spike. Please keep us updated. I got some bad news yesterday. My lower back has 3 problems and might require surgery. This has been tough for me. I had such a good run for 58 years or so but have been getting hit hard the la last 2 years, major foot surgery that still isn't right, Lyme disease, covid and now this. I think my Lyme disease is what's been making me so sore all over lately. My body got me through to retirement and a lot of people have had it much worse than me so I should celebrate my good run. The worst of this is that I may have to give up my dirt bike. 

A good caption for that would be....
"Does this duct tape make my trunk look big?"
