A normal day in Hazzard?
Enos was surprised. He didn't think Rosco could say something like that, but he appreciated it. In effect, also Rosco was worried for Enos; he remembered everything Dukes told him and, even if sometimes Rosco seemed a bit weird, he cared very much for Enos. "Are you sure sheriff?", Enos asked, a bit confused. "Of course Enos" Rosco snapped, "you're so boring when you're tired, and I don't stand to see you 'round there. And moreover, me and Boss Hogg have something important to do, so we don't want you to bother us. So, go". Well, even if Rosco cared for Enos, he didn't show it very much, but Enos knew it, so he smiled and thanked Rosco.

Uncle Jesse said gently "I think he feels ashamed because you know everything 'bout yesterday. He feels ashamed because you know he lost his temper and he beat that man down" Daisy sighed, "I don't blame him for it. I know he's a nice man". Uncle Jesse nodded, "I know Daisy. But Enos needs to forgive himself before to talk to you as always" Daisy sighed again, "OK, I'll wait for it. But I hope he's going to forgive himself as soon as possible"

Enos ate breakfast silently. Then he stood up, "Thank you for breakfast, uncle Jesse, ... and thank you for everything. Now I have to go. I think Rosco is waiting for me at the Court House". "Do you want really to go, sugar? You could ask Rosco to have some days off. I think he would agree", Daisy said hopefully, but Enos shook his head, "It's better to go back work for me". Daisy looked at uncle Jesse and her cousins.

Uncle Jesse said "Don't worry Daisy. Enos will be fine. He's only a bit tired". Daisy nodded. Enos came in the kitchen with a smile on his face (a smile different from his usual smiles, and the Dukes noticed that), "Good morning". He sat at the table while everyone was looking at him silently. Uncle Jesse broke the silence, "Well, I hope you like my breakfast, Enos". Enos nodded, "For sure, uncle Jesse".

A normal day in Hazzard?
Enos moaned rolling on his back. Daisy shook him again, "Enos, sugar". Finally Enos opened his eyes slowly, stirring. He looked around him a bit confused. Daisy smiled, "You're at the farm. Do you remember, don't you?" Enos stood up, yawning and stirring, "Yeah. I remember everything", he said, "unfortunately", he thought. He rubbed his eyes, yawning again. "Enos, go to wash your face. Breakfast is ready", Daisy gently put an hand on his shulder, smiling. Enos nodded, so Daisy went back to the kitchen. In the bathroom Enos washed his face trying to wake up. He looked in the mirror and he saw his tired face.

A normal day in Hazzard?
Uncle Jesse, Bo and Luke were in the kitchen. "Good morning Daisy. How do you feel?", said uncle Jesse cheerfully. Daisy yawned, "Finally I had a good sleep. And now I'm very hungry", she inhaled breakfast smell. Uncle Jesse laughed, "It's a good sign. Well, breakfast is almost ready. Wake Enos up, he's still sleeping". Daisy looked in the living room, "Yeah, he's still sleeping", she smiled, "and he's sleeping deeply". Bo and Luke laughed, "Yeah, he can sleep everywhere and he can sleep deeply. We know it very well". Daisy glanced at them, "Don't tease him. Well, I'm going to wake him up. He will be very happy 'bout it"

A normal day in Hazzard?
Later that night Daisy woke up and she went to the kitchen; she was thirsty, "Maybe I ate too much ice cream", she said yawning. Suddenly she froze. There was someone sleeping on the couch in the living room. She relaxed remembering that Enos was staying at the farm for the night. Daisy was glad Enos was sleeping deeply and he had joked with her previously 'bout Vanilla Cherry bean; it meant he was feeling better. She moved closer to him, then she whispered, "Are you sleeping, honey?". Enos mumbled something incomprehensible, and he kept on sleeping. Daisy sniggered.

"Everything will be OK, Dais. Nobody's stalking you anymore. And I'll be there everytime you'll call me". Daisy kissed gently his cheek, "Come on honey. You need some rest, and something to eat too".

A normal day in Hazzard?
Daisy put her head on Enos's shoulder, keeping silent until they arrived at the farm. She liked to rest on Enos's shoulder, and nobody was looking at them, so she could be very sweet with him (something she didn't used to do when someone was looking at her; she was still embarrassed 'bout their hug in front of uncle Jesse).

A normal day in Hazzard?
Daisy shivered thinking of what James wanted to do to her, but she relaxed thinking everything was finally over. The only thing Daisy was worried about was Enos right now.

A normal day in Hazzard?
Daisy felt that Enos was angry with James not only because that man stalked her; she felt that there was something more behind Enos's behaviour. Daisy kept on talking, "Did you beat him down not only because of me, didn't you?"

A normal day in Hazzard?
Enos was driving silently, but Daisy had to know. "Enos, what did you know exactly 'bout James?"

A normal day in Hazzard?
Enos blushed a bit, "I'd like it, but I don't want to bother you". Daisy smiled, "You don't bother us. Don't worry. Come on" Daisy got in Enos's car (she didn't want to let him alone), while uncle Jesse drove his truck to the farm. Uncle Jesse called Bo, Luke and Rosco and told them everything.

Daisy and Enos hugged for awhile, silently. Uncle Jesse looked away, a bit embarrassed. He coughed lightly. Enos remembered he wasn't alone with Daisy, so he let her go. "Enos", Daisy said gently, "stay at the farm for this night, please. I don't want to think of you staying alone at the boarding house or anywhere else".

A normal day in Hazzard?
Daisy nodded, "You're right uncle Jesse. When Enos is sad, he prefers to stay alone. I know it very well", she sighed. "And you know, Daisy, that when Enos is sad, you're the only one who can approach him". Daisy sighed again. Uncle Jesse was always right. Meanwhile, Bo and Luke were looking for Enos. Bo was thoughtful, "I didn't understand he was so upset. When we left him at the Court House, he seemed so quiet. If we had understood he was so upset, we would have stayed with him waiting for L.A.P.D. officers, and then we would have instisted on having dinner with him at the farm. Where could he be, Luke?" "I don't know, Bo. But we'll find him. Maybe we're worrying too much", Luke tried to calm Bo and himself too. Rosco was driving his patrol car everywhere, looking for Enos, "Where are you hiding, dipstick?". He didn't know if he was angry with Enos or if he was worried. Somehow Rosco had a big affection for his deputy, even if he didn't show it very much.

A normal day in Hazzard?
Everyone in the farm was surprised by Daisy's words. How did she know 'bout Enos? Anyway, everyone knew also that Daisy knew Enos better than anyone else in Hazzard. They left the farm, uncle Jesse with Daisy in the truck, Bo and Luke in the General Lee, and Rosco in his patrol car. Uncle Jesse drove silently, waiting for Daisy's words, "I'm so stupid, uncle Jesse. When I went to the Court House to thank Enos, I noticed something strange in his eyes; I knew he has that look only when he's cried. But I was so happy James wasn't there anymore and I was so happy to come back to the farm... so I left him alone at the Court House, instead of stay with him". Uncle Jesse said softly, "Don't worry honey. It's not your fault. We'll find him". Daisy nodded, praying for it.

A normal day in Hazzard?
Luke nodded, "Rosco, we know Enos made a mistake beating James up, and we were very shocked for it 'cause it's not something Enos is used to, but then he helped us to catch James and he was again the man we know. It's a good cop, you know it. Enos too was shocked 'bout his own behaviour, so by now it's better to find him instead of staying here chatting". Daisy sat down again, "But why didn't you tell me everything?" Luke looked at her, speaking softly, "Daisy, that man stalked you, and you had bad days lately, so we didn't want to worry you. We olny wanted you to rest a bit before to tell you everything. Sorry". Bo agreed with his cousin, "Luke is right. It's better to look for Enos. He was so upset 'bout what happened that he...", but Luke's look stopped Bo before he told Daisy and Rosco about Enos's tears.

Daisy was very shocked by Bo's words, and Rosco too. They both said "WHAT?" Rosco looked at Bo, "Did Enos really beat that man up? Enos can't do something like that, and you know it, Bo Duke. Are you trying to blame my deputy for your fault?"

A normal day in Hazzard?
Rosco scratched his head, "If he's not here, I don't know where he could be". Rosco remained silent a bit, then he stared at the Dukes, "I'm wondering what's exactly happened today. When L.A.P.D. officers brought James away, James said Enos beated him up when he was handcuffed. I don't believe someyhing like that, but Enos was so strage, so.... What's happened?" Daisy stood up immediatly, looking angrily at Bo and Luke, "What's he talkin 'bout?"

Rosco sat down, "....well.... I'm looking for Enos. He's not at the Court House, and he's not at the boarding house. So I thought he was here. That dipstick ...... ". Bo looked at Luke, a bit worried. Luke gave him again that "later Bo" look, so Bo didn't say anything.

A normal day in Hazzard?
That evening, at the Duke's farm, uncle Jesse was sitting at the kitchen's table with his nephews and his niece. Daisy had cooked the dinner (and the cookies Bo liked very much.... and not only Bo), and everyone was enjoying to stay at the farm and to have dinner with all the family. They were chatting happily and Daisy told them everything 'bout her stay at the swamp with Molly and Cousin Alice; and then she told her family 'bout James and how that man stalked her (something she hadn't said anything 'bout previously because she was too upset). Finally Daisy sighed in relief (she was very happy for her talk with her family) and she asked "And what 'bout you? Tell me how you catched James. Where did you find him? How did you stop him?" The three men at the table looked at each others, then Luke started to tell Daisy everything (but skipping all the Enos-James stuff). Daisy felt he didn't tell her everything, and she was going to ask him more when someone knocked at the door. It was Rosco. Uncle Jesse asked "Why are you here, Rosco? Something new 'bout the stalker?" Rosco shook his head, "James is in L.A., by now, and he'll never bother you" Daisy folded her arms, "So why are you here, Rosco? Do you want to arrest someone as usual?" Rosco shook again his head, "No, I'm not here to arrest you, even if you deserve to be arrested.....", everyone sighed at Rosco's words, "... but I'm here 'cause......", he looked around, "....well......" Everyone was now waiting for Rosco words.
