  1. The blonde gamber added in her two cents worth from behind the bar where she had watched the exchange. She almost had a hide a grim smile at Brian's plans for Chet. Her own idle thoughts of what she would have liked to do to the Duke boy were just as dark, since Chet had temporily robbed Chance of any means of her trade. "'Min's right. As much as I'd like to join for in your plans for Chet, given my own run-ins with him. Maybe either Min or I can go scouting for MaryAnne while the other gets more information, while you stay here and out of the law's eyes. That way, if there's trouble we can come find you quickly and if there wasn't, nobody will know you were in town." (cue Brian)
  2. I just happeaned to stumble upon the episode where Jon plays Daniel, Sully's wealthy friend. And although I am usually more a Luke Duke girl, I noted a few idle things. a) The man looks good in buckskins b)Jon is one of those men whose actually gets more handsome with age. I, personally, think he looks better now than when he was in Dukes. I like his voice better too, deeper and more mature. (although I think I'd give the edge to Joe Lando (Sully) in this series) On a side not, I also liked the episode because it showed Mike's troubles because her patients couldn't pay in cash. Reminds me of my fanfiction character, Doc Walker, who has the same problem in Hazzard. If this was random, I apolgize. I haven't had my coffee yet today. Pendragon
  3. Chance could only chuckle, both at her friend's antics and Brian's words. "Me? Ma'am? I think you did spend too much time in jail, Brian. Don't make me whip that hat back off your head. But its good to see you too." Happy to see Brian alive and well, but also curious why he was risking a short rope if the law caught him. Not that Min's heartfelt exclamation of his name helped his hiding much, fortunatly the saloon had been empty for some time now. She set down the whiskey bottle she had been carrying. She opened it and poured some into three glasses. "But rumor has it you shouldn't be in town." (Cue Min, Brian or anyone. )
  4. (Joint post by Jax and Pendragon) It has been some time since the girls left the jail and headed back to the saloon. When news came back that Brian, Chet and Alex were each lead away from town, both Chance and Min didn't feel like re-engaging in their normal activities. Instead, Min tended to Chance's injuries in her room, their moods quiet as each contemplated the fates of the three outlaws. "Each in a different direction, if I know MaryAnne, we'll probably never see any of them again--" Min said sadly as she dipped a clean cloth in the alcohol, then wrung it out and lightly dabbed it to the bullet graze on Chance's hand. "I guess its better than what she was probably offering them… leave or get hung.†Min glanced around the room a moment, remembering the hurricane Coltrane that had destroyed it. Though the memory brought a small smile to her face, despite the destruction it had been a memorable occasion. Chance hissed at the burn and flexed her fingers, her hand had taken a bad hit, the bullet nearly shearing her knuckles off. It would be a while before she could return to dealing cards and pickpocketing with such an injured hand. Also, her sides and arms were bruised and scratched from being tied to the tree by Chet, her corset giving her little protective against rough rope and bark. After a moment's thought, she answered her partner. "It's more than most outlaws get, and who knows, we may meet might up with them again someday." That brought a smile to Min’s face, especially the idea of running into Brian again. “Yeah I’m sure they’ll try and sneak their way back into town from time to time.†Feeling a little bit better, Min once again tended to Chance’s cut hand. She had just rung out her cloth and placed it on the edge of the white basin she used when the ground beneath the saloon shook. The loud explosion and the sudden upheaval of the wooden building’s foundation upset the basin from the bed and Min along with it. The saloon girl grabbed her partner and both women quickly dove under the bed as dirt rained down from the ceiling. The noise gone and the vibrations now as well, Min poked her head out and looked around. “What in the world was that?†Chance brushed some hair out of her eyes and huffed. "In this town, anything is possible." She crawled out from beneath the bed, and dusted herself off, then went over to the window to see what was up. A few people were wandering around curious about the explosion, but no buildings were damaged. "It doesn't seem to be in town." She looked back at Min, who was also climbing to her feet at this point. "Wanna take a wild guess?" Min rubbed her backside where she landed on the floor; she joined Chance by the window and peered out into the now bustling street. "I don't think I need to guess, it could be the three outlaws, but what if it isn't? What if it’s someone else?" "Either way, we should stay here and wait. No sense riding off headlong into it." “We got dragged into things whether we wanted to or not Chance. We might not be able to simply let the law handle things.†Min rubbed her arms as she stared back out of the second-story window. It wasn’t just the three outlaws she wondered about but her kin as well. “If Bo and Luke were back, they could find out what’s going on.†"Getting involved is how I got busted up this bad, and we may not be as lucky if we go off again." “I know--†Min sighed then took a hold of Chance’s arm, mindful of the raw skin and scratches from her being tied to a tree, courtesy of Chet. She led her friend back to the bed and brushed off the dust before sitting her back down. The basin lay upside down on the floor, its contents spilled. She picked it up and handed it to Chance as she got out the bottle of medicinal alcohol to refill it and another clean rag. “I guess we best leave the gun fighting to the experts, huh?†Chance did offer her friend a smile. "We'll have our turn yet, I think. But not yet." She flexed her hand again. "I know I won't be turning cards or pockets for a while." “It’s not that bad, you’ll heal--†Min ripped her clean rag in half and wrapped it around her friend’s hand. “There you go, just don’t be slugging any cowboys with it and you’ll be fine.†The blonde gambler chuckled. "It was worth it giving Chet a dust bath, I'd do it again in a heartbeat." “He’d enjoy that I’m sure--†Setting everything aside, Min got up from the bed. “Things are quiet again, why don’t we take this opportunity and go downstairs for a drink?†Rising also, Chance nodded. "Any news from out of town will come through the saloon first." (cue Anyone!)
  5. I wish I could but I don't think I'll be able to budget it this year. (college student) Pendragon
  6. Well, its offical. I an now halfway through my nursing program. Passed with somewhat flying colors. Doesn't seem that long ago I first posted this thread, does it? I have heard that last semester is the hardest of the program, and I believe it now. But I'm through and I think (and hope) by this time next year, I'll be thinking about state boards and becoming an "RN" to my name. Now for a three month break, I think I'll be sleeping the first week. Pendragon
  7. I had to wear my cowboy boots to my first day of nursing clinical because they are my only pair that are not tennis shoes and do have heels. Boots and scrubs? Does that make me a redneck? Pendragon
  8. Ten Ways to Tell If A Redneck Is Working On Your Computer 10. The monitor is up on blocks. 9. Outgoing faxes have tobacco stains on them. 8. The six front keys have rotted out. 7. The extra RAM slots have Dodge truck parts stored in them. 6. The numeric keypad only goes up to six. 5. The password is "Bubba". 4. There's a gun rack mounted on the CPU. 3. There's a Skoal can in the CD-ROM drive. 2. The keyboard is camouflaged. AND the number 1 way to tell if a Redneck has been working on your computer is... 1. The mouse is now referred to as a "critter".
  9. Several years ago I met the honor of meeting the author Stephen King. And didn't even know it! I was working with a hotel at the time and told, under penalty of losing our jobs, we were not to acknowlege his presence in the hotel or ask for autographs for fear of a media flood. I had never seen a picture of him before. Now having said that, I was serving coffee and chatted with a very pleasant, shorter man for a couple of minutes before returning to the desk. Where the manager pulled me over and asked "Do you have any idea who you were talking to?" Funny thing, you think Stephen King and his books, you would imagine a more imposing figure that a 5'4" darkhaired looking man with glasses. But as he was leaving, he stopped at the desk and said. "Thanks" I still don't know if it was for not blowing his cover...or for the coffee. Pendragon
  10. I'll drink a green beer to that, Brian. Happy St. Patrick's, Hazzard. Pendragon
  11. I certainly would like to. The second obsctacle being budget, being a college student. What is it for tickets? Like $25 for the weekend? Plus whatever for food and lodging. Brian, being an old pro at this...Would these sell out if I waited a while until I made my decision? Pendragon
  12. 7 hours as the Pendragon flies. Ain't bad. I already have one major roadtrip planned for this summer, but I'll think about it. Pendragon
  13. Unfortunatly, I won't be able to attend DukesFest because from PA to TN is quite a drive for a weekend shindig. I didn't realize there was a Cooter's in VA until now. That may be more manageable. Is there any sort of annual event at that location? Pendragon
  14. Some DVDs also can have easter eggs for those who can play DVDs in computers instead of DVD players, like screensaver or wallpapers. Anyone find anyone of these in either season 1 or 2? I don't have a DVD player in my computer so I can't check myself. Pendragon

  16. Chance couldn’t agree more, and the thought of exploring those possibilities with the man behind her was thrilling. She brought up her legs to tuck her feet into the rests and let the bike bolt forward from the parking lot, sending up a cloud of dust. Once they were on pavement, she hit the throttle and let the bike fly, carrying both of them to wherever they wanted to go. Now she was a permanent resident of Hazzard, with a new life to live here. The dark stranger was right about one thing, the opportunities were endless. She had the feeling she was in for the ride of her life. THE END (I just want to say thank you for everything who helped me finish this story…finally. Thanks to Kristy and MaryAnne for your patience with my consistent nagging, Thanks for Brian for the wonderful happy ending. And Thank you, Hazzard, for giving me a home) Pendragon)
  17. You'll have to give me a few days, Val. I have some major nursing school grief this week but by this weekend, for sure. Doc
  18. (okay, forgive a tad of character control here) Chance stepped out of the doors of the ER, taking a deep breath of night air. Five long hours in surgery had proved a mixed blessing. The hemogenesis treatment had raised Riddick's blood pressure to the point of survival but with it popped open some of the internal sutures holding his wounds together. Chance had worked like mad and against a ticking clock to repair the damage. But without the drug treatment, Riddick's wound would have slowly leaked to his death from inside, unnoticed. But now his was once again stablized, even now he was being returned to ICU. The young surgeon rubbed the cramps out of her fingers, it had been a long and hard surgery but... She didn't have a chance to finish the thought as Diablo came turning up into the ambulance bay, turning with such speed and force Chance almost had to jump out of its way. When MaryAnne opened the door to reveal Brian, Chance didn't give Riddick another thought for the moment, but yelled inside for a stretcher and help. Within seconds, a couple of hospital staff was outside helping Chance lift him into the stretcher. She just recieved a new patient. Chance was no stranger to gun shot wounds, and she could already tell that despite the blood, the wound was too high on the shoulder to have damaged any major organs, but the loss of blood was a concern. But that could be stablized once inside the ER within minutes. She had to force her mind away from the fact that this was the man she loved or else she would lose that clinical edge that made her such a good doctor. Running along side the stretcher, she glanced back at MaryAnne, giving her a small nod, silently telling her that her cousin was in the best medical hands in Tricounty. (Cue Brian, MaryAnne or anyone else in this scene)
  19. Sounded like a good deal to Chance, the feel of the strong arms wrapped around was more than pleasant. And natural, as if they had done this before. Balancing the bike carefully, she leaned forward, as one does on a sports bike. That, of course, forced her passenger to lean with her. She could feel his breath against her neck and the contours of his body behind her. Definitely more the pleasant. She revved up the throttle and grinned mischievously over her shoulder. “Let’s see what trouble we can get into.†(Cue Brian, any last impressions before I wrap this story up?)
