  1. yeah - i had another idea

    the general had a v8

maybe cooter's truck was running twin v6's - that would explain the power and speed of it, but the power weight ratio would still mean that the general can outsprint it

the truck could house twin v6s so it is a possibility

who knows though - he was crazy after all

maybe you have some of the davenport crazyness dixie - just don't try to make a 500mph klunker

  2. i neglected to mention my fave character - cooter

he is always getting the boys outta trouble when uncle jesse cant

he charges boss extra for repairing the police cars

he sometimes rigs the police cars so the seats are not held down to the body!

    he drives a sweet truck

he is the one who gave birth to the general lee

    and he is crazy

  3. i thought that y'all might like these

    Just the good ol' boys,

    Never meanin' no harm,

Beats all you've ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

    Straight'nin' the curve,

    Flat'nin' the hills.

Someday the moutain might get 'em, but the law never will.

    Makin' their way,

The only way they know how,

That's just a little bit more than the law will allow.

    Just good ol' boys,

    Wouldn't change if they could,

Fightin' the system like a true modern day Robin Hood.

  4. it showed on tv quite a bit in england - until they stopped airing the dukes (booooooo!) i was lucky enough to tape it when it was on once

unfortunatly, i do not believe that they have released a copy of this film on video or dvd

where have you looked - ebay may have someone selling a copy

  5. Is it true that there are in fact TWO dukes themes - one from the tv series - the one minute song and one that Waylon released as part of his record/album (whatever they had back then)

i believe that there is but can anybody confirm this

  6. here is a question that has been buggin me for ages

the general lee is supposed to be the fasted vehicle in hazzard - right

and cooter sometimes helps the dukes with stuff - right

and they sometimes race away from law together - right

then how come cooter's truck can keep up with the general, even if the general is hitting the redline

has cooter got nitrous in his truck or something cos there is something wrong with a 2 ton work truck keeping up with a 1 ton race car

uncle jesse's truck cannot always keep up with the general, but when he does it is usually bo driving the general

daisy's jeep and roadrunner cannot keep up with the general

so what has cooter done to his truck to make it so fast

whatever he has done - is this why he is called CRAZY cooter

  7. the way the cars could be identified was that rosco had a confederate flag instead of a front number plate and enos did not have that

i guess that they could also tell them apart by looking at the rear number plates, but this means that rosco and enos could remember stuff like their number plates - which is an intellegance i do not believe that they have (no offence MaryAnne)

also, if they were chasing the duke boys, rosco and boss would always get in the car that is parked at the front

  8. the general will always be a 69 charger

from what i have heard, the duke boys still have the 69 but they go up against a new one (may be charger or stratus or something else - not sure)

so it sounds like they boys will have a different competetor to the 00 race car

  9. i know that loads of people didn't like the dukes in england, but the fans that are here are serious hardcore

i have a loada mates who say they are gonna see teh film, and that it is supposed to be good, but they asked who the actor was that playing the role of the general lee!!!

that is a summary of the whole thing really

it is trying to make an old series attractive to the young generation, but it would have been better if they had spent longer looking for the cast and less time trying to come up with a new and interesting plot

how many years did the dukes run for with no real storyline apart from boss and rosco frame the duke boys, enos and rosco attempt to chase the general, daisy wears her shorts and the dukes prove their innocence and keep their farm

too much change can be a bad thing

  10. wasnt sure bout the new charger - thanks for that bit of info

the general will have to be a 69 / 70 charger but the problem is that they are so rare because people kept trashing them doing stupid stunts for a tv series - cant remember its name though

looking at the casting though - they might as well use a station wagon for the general - save the reputation of the charger

  11. why oh why did they have to pick johnny 'jackass' knocksville for luke

i thought they were gettin rid of jessica simpson as daisy - still better than britney spears

what next - cooter in clean overalls

uncle jesse without a beard and hating moonshine

boss slim with a full head of hair

    rosco smart

    flash as a doberman

this film had such potential - and now it has reduced to next to zero

    oh the humanities

this is against the geneva convention i reckon

  12. a mate has just got one for his lotus cortina

it looks sweet - orange with a black stripe down the side instead of the usual white with green stripe

the horn is f***ing loud though - he has a custom made one which was originally intended for the lorry that he uses to transport his car!

  13. i have heard that they me using a new dodge charger for the general instead of the classic 69.

    dodge_charger_concept_car.jpg

it doesnt look bad and has potential, but there hasnt been a release date yet for it

the other car could be a dodge stratus coupe (yuck)

    enlarge_12.jpg

    enlarge_8.jpg

    enlarge_7.jpg

so what is your opinion - 69 charger, 05 charger or 05 stratus

i think the 05 charger would look good, but not as good as the 69

  14. hi there y'all

y'all know who the main characters are, but for quick reference here is a list of them:

Luke Duke - ex-marine, ex-moonshiner, works on the duke farm, driver of the car 'the general lee', oldest of the three cousins (not includind jeb), cousin to Bo and Daisy Duke, is on probation, parents died in a car crash with Bo's and Daisy's

Beaurigard (Bo) Duke - ex-moonshiner, works on the duke farm, other driver of the car 'the general lee', cousin to Luke and Daisy Duke, is on probation, parents died in a car crash with Luke's and Daisy's

Daisy Duke - works as a waitress at the Boar's Nest, used to drive the car 'the roadrunner', now drives the jeep 'dixsy', cousin to Luke and Bo Duke, parents died in a car crash with Luke's and Bo's

Jessie Duke (Uncle Jessie) - uncle to Luke, Bo and Daisy Duke, Duke family patriot, ex-moonshiner, ex-moonshiner with J. D. Hogg runs the Duke farm

Cooter Davenport - only mechanic in Hazzard, friend to the Dukes, ex-moonshiner with Luke and Bo, always willing to help the Dukes (even though he sometimes gets them in trouble ep 'Limo One')

Jefferson Davis Hogg (Boss Hogg) - runs Hazzard County, ex-moonshiner, ex-moonshiner with Jessie Duke, greedy for money, corrupted the Sherrif, Rosco

Sherrif Rosco Percivile Coltrane - Sherrif of Hazzard County, is corrupted by Boss, stupid

Deputy Sherrif Enos Strait - son of a moonshiner who ran with Luke and Bo's fathers, fancies Daisy

Act-in Deputy Sherrif Cletus Hogg - cousin of J. D. Hogg, as coppupted as Rosco, very stupid

Now, who is your favourite and why

  15. in the episode where bo & luke drive the gambling rig, and uncle jessie gets shucked into gambling to get some money back for lou, where they show jessie shuffling the cards at the farm, it is actually john schnieder who is shuffling as denver could not do the shuffle trick that jessie could do

that explains why the hands look so young!!!
